We can educate our customer on ceiling fan motor and blade pitch, LED lighting, and lighting in general.

History

Established in 1989.

The business actually started in 1922 as Lipscomb Electric Company and we sold Frigidare appliances and did electrical service work. Mr. E. Harold Wilson purchased the company in 1960. We specialized in electrical contracting and started selling lighting fixtures. Dianne W Bishop took over the family business in 1994 and in 2005 we separated Wilson Electric Company from the lighting and The Lighting Hut, Inc. was born.

I started working at Wilson Electric Company in 1971 and in 1978 left and started working at Elizabethan Interiors as a lighting specialist.

In 1984 I started ‘Window Décor’ an interior design business specializing in window treatment.

In June of 1994, I returned to the family business to see if I could do my design business and run the electrical business, but I found it to be too much so in 1996 I closed the design business and concentrated on the electric business and lighting retail.

Starting in 1997 we tried many variations of lighting names as a part of Wilson Electric Company but, in 2005 we realized the best thing to do was to separate the electric and lighting business and The Lighting Hut began.
