The town of Lake Placid is actually located on Mirror Lake. If you are planning a visit to Lake Place this is the place to stay. I have not been able to stay since it was sold out when I wanted to book. However, I have had dinner and been to the bar for drinks (the first time I ever had the Raspberry Framboise Lambic Belgium Ale).
I have been meaning to get back for sometime but it just has not worked out.
