I was here for an informal business get-together and had been wanting to try Tavern on Kruse for quite a while. Not disappointed! Our table had the teriyaki pulled pork sandwich, the truffle mac and cheese, spinach salad and the gorgonzola butternut squash ravioli, and we shared the garlic rosemary fries. First off, I would like to swim in the sauce that covered the ravioli. If it wouldn’t have been poor form, I would have picked up that plate and licked it clean! The fries were very flavorful without being over garlicky. Mac and cheese was super good. Drinks were also very good, though we ordered fairly non-descript ones like Absolut and Aviator and soda. We were at 5:30, so a very bustling and loud place — which is fine, but if you’re looking for a quiet dinner spot, perhaps wait until later in the evening. The place cleared out by 6:30. My huge disappointment was that the burger was a half pound — which is too large for me. I really wish if restaurants want to offer a half pound burger that they offer a third or quarter pound, also. Who doesn’t love a good burger?! This girl! Will look forward to returning to maybe sit on the patio over the summer.

Excellent atmosphere, well manicured aesthetics and polite staff. A little pricey, yet this is easily understood once you taste anything from the ever changing menu. Very satisfied.

Really enjoyed our dinner outside in their courtyard. Will definitely come back. But hoping they’ll turn down the music inside their restaurant. Too loud for a conversation over dinner, and not compatible with the look of the place. Otherwise, definite thumbs up.

Always a good bet. Great Brussel sprouts. Excellent burger. I was disappointed in my recent avocado and mango salad. It was very different than what I’ve had in the past. Happy hour is excellent. Great fries and ribeye steak skewers. Besides my recent disappointment in my mango avocado salad, I’ve always loved everything I’ve ordered. Service is excellent. Cocktails are fantastic. Really good bar staff.

My office had a business lunch here and the service was great, but it took quite a while to get our meals for a small party of 6 The place wasn’t that busy, so it was surprising. I had the Seared Ahi Salade Nicoise and the fish was cold and didn’t taste fresh. I was expecting warm fish, since it said it was seared. The dressing, if there really was any, didn’t lend anything to the flavor. The chips that were served with it were cold and floppy. My friend’s salmon was overcooked, but other than that, everyone was fairly pleased with their meals. If I go back, I definitely won’t order that salad. The place was clean and inviting, and the outside area looks ample for some upcoming warm Oregon happy hours. Although it needs some greenery of some kind.

This is a great addition to an otherwise boring office park area. Why join the line of cars trying to escape between 4 and 6 when you can unwind here until the traffic dies down? Get the truffle mac and cheese. Because, well, truffle mac and cheese. Their cheese and meat board is a welcome accompaniment to their wine list, which offers solid by-the-glass options, as well as bottles.

Love the location, don’t have to drive to downtown LO. Cool interior, I would say they outdoor patio could use some plants. Not very inviting. My service was friendly, and the squash ravioli on happy hour is delicious. It’s small but very rich. Just right for a little bite. Look forward to trying dinner here.

My husband and I tried this for the first time last night. We both ordered the Tavern Burger. It was cooked to perfection, juicy and full of flavor. It was delicious! We will be back.

This place is so great. We went here for dinner because it was close by and were pleasantly surprised. My mother in law ordered the ravioli and said it was the best she’d ever had. She gave me a bite, and indeed it was absolutely incredible. I ordered the burger and it was a dream. Whenever I order a hamburger I’m never expecting much, but this one was juicy and flavorful and perfect. The atmosphere was open without being loud, great service and a great cocktail menu. Will definitely be back.

Impressed with the quality of food! I’m surprised I hadn’t found this place sooner since I am always looking for a good place to dine. The Tavern Burger is beyond scrumptious: D service is friendly but not as attentive as I like. We sat at the counter and watched chefs prepare the food. always entertaining!

Wow! The word«tavern» does not give an accurate description of how wonderful the food was. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was very«Classy Portland». Try the cheese torte & truffle mac & cheese. Everything we ordered was amazing but those were my favorite!

Been here for lunch and dinner and love it! Service was lacking one time but I think it was a fluke thing. Beautiful restaurant with a nice patio. Bustles and is a bit loud at peak times but the food is beautifully presented and delicious.

Tasty food. I loved my beets and goat cheese. My daughter had a beautiful fruit plate. I also enjoyed a lamb dish. My wife enjoyed her food as well. She eats here more frequently than I do. I will definitely be going back. Clean new restaurant, friendly knowledgable staff. Worth checking out!

A Warm Welcome in Lake Oswego! Had a great lunch here. So much of Lake Oswego tends toward Trendy-town, but this one is a real gem. Nice open kitchen, very friendly staff, and they have put together an impressive menu. Essentially it’s an eclectic mix of Southern favorites(Fried Chicken, Mac N’ Cheese), and Northwest style gourmet salads, burgers, pastas, and sandwiches all done in a very classy style. I opted for one of several vegetarian options and went with the wonderful Portabello and Pablano Pepper burger with cheese and a great side of greens. For awhile now I’ve shied away from Portobello burgers because they always come whole, and usually dry. Not so here. They slice it up like gyro meat and the mushroom is given a lot of love. Super juicy, and paired nicely with the pablano spiciness on a proper Ciabatta bun that could take abuse from the heavy brine and sauce. One surprising note was the side salad, a mesculin green mix with a side of(I’m guessing here) house brined pickles and onions. Very tasty, refreshing, and a gorgeous house dressing punched up with some fresh garlic. Well rounded, well thought out, and well prepared. Drinks are overpriced, but you’re going to be gouged for being in Lake Oswego, so it is what it is. However, their menu is nicely priced and perfectly acceptable for the amount of food you get, plus attentive service and a super clean restaurant. My only issue is that I think calling it a gastropub isn’t accurate. It’s not much of a pub, and while I’m sure they have some classy cocktails and a few local beers, it’s more of an upscale café. If you’ve been to a true gastropub you’ll notice the difference. Overall I highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner. It’s classy without being snobby, and is one of the better values for inspired food of this nature. Just plan ahead, parking can be tricky as there’s many eating establishments in the same place and most of the parking is suited for compact cars. Give this a try, it will be a go-to place for sure!

We’ve gone twice this week for dinner, we didn’t have high expectations but found quality ingredients and pretty good preparations. Both times we sat at the kitchen counter, which actually seems preferable to a table because it’s well-lit and you can see the food being prepared and can chat with the cooks if you want. We will go back to try different dishes but so far we have enjoyed the honey fried chicken, lamb/foie gras burger, bucatini and wine board. The wines by the glass are expensive but pair well with the food. Friendly staff, this is a good addition to the area.

We decided to give this place a try, seeing as we(the boyfriend and I) had the afternoon to ourselves while the kids were at school. First, the place looks amazing and classy. Love the fact that the cook’s area was visible. You can watch them cook. Seeing as they are fairly new, I noticed a lot of the staff on their phones while customers were waiting on their food. No biggie, just noticed. I ordered a rum and coke and he ordered a Diet Coke, I got my drink fairly quickly, while they didn’t bring his diet for about 15 minutes. Ordered the hot roast beef sandwich, to share and an order of the garlic Rosemary fries. The fries were very dry(to me) but he liked them. The sandwich was on point. Perfect lunch item to share. The portion size of the fries was a little hefty, we barely finished half of them. Needless to say, we will probably be back but only on date nights or for a classy lunch.

Best meal I’ve have in a decade we ordered the muscles with bruschetta, the goat cheese raviolis, and the fried chicken and macaroni was to die for. A meal that cannot be missed if you’re in town. I’ll fly back from Sonoma to have another… all the cocktails were terrific too!

Opened on June 8th2015. Nice interior, upscale. Warm and spacious. Service is friendly. Con: Pricey! «All beers $ 6». House well single $ 6. Burger $ 12.(Beers are $ 5 on HH) Was hoping LO would get a relaxed/casual bar on the westside, this place isn’t it. So, if you enjoy the upper-scale venues in LO(Oswego Grill, Mananzana, etc.) then you will like this place. As for us, we prefer cheap PBR/Coors Light, and basic bar foods,…we are just not Tavern On Kruse’s target audience.
