Food here is really delicious and the layout is really nice. Also great beer and friendly welcoming wait staff One awesome feature is it’s comfortably warm even in winter, mixed with the nice smell of bbq

Went on a busy Saturday night and service was really slow. Catfish fingers were mushy but brisket was great. Cool bar upstairs and downstairs.

I’ve been here quite a few times since they’ve opened and was less than impressed. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant is phenomenal but 90% of the service isn’t so hot and neither is the food, literally. Other than opening night of the joint our service has been below par. Some of the kids they have working there are awkward and seem inexperienced to be quite frank. We waited for at least 15 minutes before we got any kind of service one night, and let me tell you, they were pretty slow, another night we just couldn’t find our server for any refills or anything else we needed. Also 3 out of the 4 time that I’ve been here my food has literally come out luke warm. It’s very unappetizing. In addition to the food being cold their sauces are too liquidy for my taste. Another thing that I don’t understand is why they serve you a slice of wonder bread on your plate and jarred store bought pickles, it’s totally unnecessary and just makes the dish look tacky. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. I’ve been to the one in Royal Oak and it was much better than the Lake Orion location, I would recommend that one over Lake Orion. Ps. You guys make house made pickles try putting those on the plate as opposed to the jar pickles and slices onions you slap on there, the house pickles are much tastier and makes a lot more sense in the dish.

3rd time at the restaurant… We are locals and we want this place to be successful! Food and service so far have been average. Today we arrived at 3:40pm… No chicken or ribs available? How is that possible? Took 15 minutes to get our beer after we ordered it… Asked for an extra glass to share a flight and the glass was warm and wet! The flat rimmed trucker baseball caps? Please lose those! Thanks.

I have been to this restaurant 2 times… first-time good experience…2nd time just 2 weeks later… not so good. 1st time I ordered brisket and it was outstanding! The atmosphere is nice and casual and the wait staff friendly. 2nd time I had ribs… they came to the table lukewarm and tough and stringy… like they had been on a warming tray all day. They were drowning in sauce. The menu states dinner comes with a pickle relish dish and bread. The pickle relish came to the table… on top what was what looked like an olive. We were not warned that it was actually a hot pepper… the hottest pepper I ever tasted…(was not a pleasant experience.) The bread that comes with the meal is a piece of white sandwich bread from the grocery store… Really? a new restaurant serves dry sandwich bread. Biggest beef and I have seen this happen with Chilis in Oxford, Applebees and Montana Steak House. Servers are all teenagers and although friendly they need some customer service training. Both times I ate there 6 or 7 servers were standing around the reception desk talking about their lives with each other… ignoring the people waiting to be seated. We were seated close to reception and I noticed this went on all the while we were there… Leave management to high school kids and pretty soon you are out of business… Hope this doesn’t happen to this restaurant… I would have only 2 stars for my second experience… But 4 stars for 1st. …so I even out to 3… Might try again this summer…

Had my first experience at the Lake Orion location of Lockhart’s BBQ today after going to the Royal Oak one a couple of years ago. I wanted to try something different this time — so I got the Saddle Brisket Burger with a side of mac and cheese. The burger, itself, was very normal/plain but it did not make the burger bad. After squirting some of their signature BBQ sauce on each bite, the burger got REAL good. The mac and cheese was very good and would like to see it by itself as an entrée. My wife got a chicken caesar salad… not enough chicken for the $ 12 price tag. Overall, good service, good food, we’ll be back.

What a fun new restaurant for Lake Orion! We went in mid-afternoon over the holiday break and had no wait — yay! Our four-year-old especially was excited to be sitting at a hi-top table. Our server was attentive and efficient and explained that the meat was smoked daily(or whatever it was she said — ha!) and brought us our pickles. I had the pulled pork and hubby really enjoyed the ribs. My garlic mashed and cole slaw were also delicious. I mixed the signature sauce with the mustard sauce and loved the flavor. It’s so nice to have somewhere else to go downtown, and without a terrible wait so far!

Very excited that Lockharts has come to Lake Orion! The building is very cool– it had two levels and lots of seating for bigger groups. It will definitely be a place to hang out in the summer with a patio. We were seated within 5 mins– they didn’t need our whole party there too which was nice! They also had a text service to tell you that your table was ready that was really cool. The food was really good. The main meals were pretty reasonable for what you get. I must say that you need to try the ribs! The hush puppies, bacon and Mac were phenomenal as well. We will definitely be back.

Words do not do justice to the marbled brisket I just ate. If I had a *! €# I might just have put it in the brisket, it was that amazing! Okay, okay. Not really. I’m just kidding because I wouldn’t want to wreck the heavenly meat that graced my meal. The service, well… that was not like the brisket.

The restaurant itself is very nice. It will be a great place to come for drinks in the summer. The wait seemed longer than it should have because they were slow to clear off empty tables. The food was just okay. I had the brisket which was a little dry. It was cut into thin slices. The top two pieces of meat were fine but the pieces underneath were full of fat with very little meat. I usually take some of my meal home when I eat out, but there was nothing to take home mainly due to the portion size and the fatty brisket. The food was not cold but it could have been warmer. My daughter had the mac n cheese which looked really good.

Addicted to this new restaurant. Everything unique and tasty. Chili amazing. Deviled egg and Brussel sprout sides perfect. No wait so far. Much needed new LO restaurant.

I had heard that this place had phenomenal bbq so of course I had to try it. We walked in and immediately noticed the atmosphere. Lots of exposed brick and polished wood and metal tables. There were plenty of big screen TVs around the bar. The smell of bbq was in the air and I skimmed the menu with visions of ribs dancing in my head. I settled on the lockheart signature so that I could get a sample of many of the different meats with Cole slaw and corn bread on the side. After ordering I sampled the various bbq sauces and immediately noticed how watery they were. I thought it strange that the bbq sauces were basically colored water. When my order arrived it looked pretty appealing and similar to any other order at a bbq joint. I settled on the signature sauce and it poured out of the bottle like water. I took a bit of the coleslaw and quickly noted how dry it was. The cornbread wasn’t much better. I had to use a knife to separate the ribs. They were dry and very tough for ribs and I wasn’t impressed. The brisket wasn’t bad and in fact was very tender but the bbq sauce really didn’t do it for me. The rest was ok at best and I left most of my dinner on the tray. The staff were very friendly and hard working. We had a kid named Jake who was Johnny on the spot and took very good care of us. Overall it is a nice place but they have a lot of work to do.

Food was excellent. Brisket was moist with a nice smoke ring. Pickles are some of the best that I have had.

Service was okay. Food was okay. The beef brisket was good but the pulled pork wasn’t anything special. Serving sizes small. Prefer The Woodshop. I won’t drive past Bad Brads to come once it opens.

We just held our Lake Orion High School Ice Hockey team dinner at Lockharts and it couldn’t have been better. The entire staff was tremendous, catering to everything we needed. As for the food, Lockharts truly impressive, the brisket and pulled pork were fantastic. The team felt very comfortable and relaxed and a good time was had by all. We look forward to more team gatherings at Lockharts!

Been there 3 times and ordered carry out twice. Ordered today for workers all wanted jamblya. We do not have it today! If you have it on your menu then have it available!!! I have had the Ribs, dry and crusty on the outside. The catfish, one filet was ok. The sides are meh, bake beans, hushpuppies and the greens. The food is not bad it is okay but for the high prices it should be better then just ok. Service was a bit slow, may have had a new waitress. I will pay those prices at Bad Brads because their food is exceptional. I do not think I will be returning here very often. There is another BBQ place opening in Lake Orion also where Applebe’s use to be.

I have been here four times now since they opened. I’ve tried the burnt ends, a chicken chop salad, sweet potato fries and the smoked chicken wings. None of the food was especially good. Nothing was really bad either however, considering the prices, I was expecting better. This place is very close to my home and I will probably try it one more time before I officially cut bait. Also, while they have a decent brew menu, of the few times I have been there they were out of at least one of my choices. Was really hoping this place would give Sagebrush a run for it’s money.. .. Sadly, I don’t think that’s going to happen.

Back for the 2nd time, we weren’t happy the first time but didn’t want to judge too quickly. The first time we came in was 30 minutes before close, bartender was clearly annoyed that we were there. We ordered one drink and our tabs, and left before last call. The whole time we were here, there were dirty tables and the bartender was very verbal about the«sloppy hogs» he works with. This time, we sat at the bar. Same bartender. We ordered food, and even though it was very yummy, it was over priced for the portions and presentation. My drink was WAY over-priced, and it was awkward sitting at a bar with all of the off-shift employees complaining about customers. This place has badass potential, great building with beautiful interior. Just need to fix your prices and attitudes and you have a 5 star. I’m in the bar industry. I know how it is.

Fantastic! The beef brisket was perfect and my wife loved the tacos. Excellent craft beer selection and courteous service. Love the interior, too. This may be a weekly event for us

Ok — Had a chance to come back for lunch today. I am basically disappointed with everything that a new restaurant probably struggles with and not touching other than they are definitely struggling. This review is just the food received… Pulled pork, Brisket, Sausages, & burnt ends for the meats and corn bread, and mac and cheese for the sides. Everything was visually appealing but flavor was lacking across the board for the meats. Have to say — left disappointed that I did not have that need to come back again feeling despite the nice décor and whatnot. Going to watch for better reviews and likely they will get things better and I will be back again.
