This was the best place in Havasu. But rumor has it the Islander won’t renew their lease.

Nooooooooooo. What happened. Bring it back. I’ll buy it. Let’s open it again. This place was the place to get the best burger in town and a frosty drink.

I’m so sad that this place is out of business! It’s my absolute favorite place to eat and one of the main reasons why I come to havasu! Please bring it back :)

Ahhhhhh… The Sandbar Grill is officially out of business. What a travesty… Does anyone know if they just relocated? The place is vacant with no trespassing signs and no forwarding location.

I am in love with the burgers at Sandbar!!! I live in Las Vegas and make the 2 hour drive to Lake Havasu twice a month just to get one. The Island Burger is humongous and has the most incredible taste. You can taste every ingredient they put on it. The flavor of the meat is exactly that… meat, delicious, juicy meat! I add swiss cheese and green chiles with bacon for a burger that can’t be beat. The chili fries are cheesy and not greasy. The onion rings are beer battered and cooked perfectly so they are crispy without being burnt and you can see and taste the large onion slices inside. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating. The second best part about this place is the view. I love to sit on the patio and have a great burger and an ice cold beer while watching the boats in the shimmering river. I have also experienced some great wildlife here. Once I got to share my onion rings with a roadrunner who walked right up to me and took the food from me. The price seems a bit steep but when you see what you get it is more than worth it and I will keep going back as long as they are open. I just wish they were open year round.

Every year we look forward to a lunch at the Sandbar. The burgers are incredible, chili cheese fries delish, onion rings have a great beer batter and the lovely lady that works so hard to feed us is such a delight. Usually we come once in the week vacay but this year we had to go twice. I want to know how they make those burgers taste so good! Always a treat, thank you Sandbar for never disappointing my family.

The burgers are great, good quality meat, seasoning, and some creative combinations. The fries are a different story. They taste like air, not potato.

We had such a delicious lunch! Fish and chips, burgers, chicken strips, fries! All of it is worth the stop! Great food! Great service! Gave us the strength for our afternoon boat run! Loved being able to tie off the boat and walk right up the sand! Do it! Make the stop! Have a great meal!

Sandbar burger is officially my alltime favorite burger! The chilis and jalopenos give just the right kick to go with the killer flavor. It’s a messy one, but well worth it. My wife gets the clam strips almost every time. They are huge and very meaty, not your typical overfried tough and tiny clam strips. Definately try them if you like clam strips. Kids love the chicken strips. I’m a local and this is my favorite lunch spot. Not open in winter though, and they open at 11:00 am, so be the first in line or wait out the first of the lunch rush.

Nice place, don’t have hours of operation posted. When calling, it just rings, no message as to hours or days open. Why don’t you post days and hours that you are open?

Since my last review, we’ve had lunch here. The hamburgers are awesome! The only bummer is the wait now that summer is here. Still a fun little place to grab a bite to eat, or a beer… with an incredible view of the lake!

Most flavorful and juicy burger I’ve ever had. I got the Island burger with bbq sauce and pineapple and hubby got the Its a 10 burger. Both were amazing and atmosphere was super chill and right on the beach. It took quite awhile to get our food and felt some of the sides and drinks were a tiny bit overpriced hence the four star and not a full five. Nevertheless will definitely return here! :-)

I figured it was about time I write a review about one of the best burger joints in all of Lake Havasu City.
I have been going to the Sandbar Grill for about as long as I can remember (and when you are my age, that is saying something).
It is locally owned and operated by a lovely local couple and one of their very good friends. The husband does all of the cooking and the wife and friend delivers all the food. So, when you walk up, if there is a line, don’t be surprised and don’t be in a hurry cause it will do you no good.
The Sandbar Grill has many pluses and minuses that I took into consideration before giving them 4 stars. Let’s take a look at each now:
Pluses:
The food! The burgers here are without a doubt the best I have ever eaten! The Sandbar burger is my favorite. It is a hand formed burger patty and a wonderfully toasted bun. The burger comes with mayo, cheese, grilled jalapeño peppers, and Ortega chills. That is it. Simple and completely delicious. You can get an extra patty, which make this burger more than I can eat, for about a buck more. YUM! Try any of the burgers on the board, you can’t go wrong with any of your choices.
Beer. The serve beer! Not always as cold as I would like, but still awesome on a hot summer day!
Walk here from the Chanel. They are located a short walk from the shore on the South end of the Chanel, right at the beginning of Thompson Bay.
Tank tops. They have killer screened tanks. The graphics change each year and I think I have them all.
Minuses:
They are only open about 6 months of the year. Basically the warm weather months.
The lines can be incredibly long (especially on summer and holiday weekends) and with only the three of them working, the wait can be almost (mind the word almost) not worth it.
They are a bit pricey. Once you add fries and a soda to your burger you bill will easily run you over $ 10 bucks. OK, not bad by LA/​OC standards but kind of pricey for Lake Havasu City.
Soda refills are not free. This part really sucks for me!
Only patio seating! Not bad in the spring or fall, but horrible in the summer and on windy days. They have misters on the patio, but once the heat goes over 105 or so, they are of little help.
OK, I think that about sums the place up. You are probably sitting there wondering how on earth a place with so many minuses can still get 4 solid stars. Simple. The burgers are that good. To get a Sandbar Burger I gladly have and will continue to put up with all of those minuses.
Go for the burgers… forget about all the minuses and enjoy the adventure of eating at one of the best burger joints on the lake.

Visiting Lake Havasu from California, we made sure we tried this place after a friend suggested it. Some of the best burgers we’ve ever had we all loooooved it. The bun alone is amazing! Delicious fries and fresh ingredients. Customer service: ¹⁰⁄₁₀ really awesome girls behind the counter. This place is definitely a must-​try.

Fantastic! I found this on Unilocal and it sounded great but I was not expecting such a small place. It’s really only open for lunch/​afternoons (11 – 5:30 or so) but it was amazing! The wait was a little long but there were only 2 ladies; one cooking and one ringing and bringing out orders. They were apologetic and said it was much busier than planned. It was definitely worth the wait and I will be back!!!

Took the family here during the kids’ Fall Break from school while we were in Havasu. Chill vibe, great view and seriously the absolute best teriyaki burger I’ve had in my life. If I could choose only one restaurant in Havasu to eat, this would be the place.

Looks a little run down and the address on Unilocal is misleading. However, the food is awesome and the service is fast and very friendly. The Sandbar Burger is a super juicy green chili taste fest. A definite recommendation, when you are at London Bridge Beach.

Employees were nice, food was good. 2 bottlee waters and a chili cheese dog for $ 11. We will be back.

I wouldn’t care if I found out that their burgers were made out of baby seals and heroine. They taste amazing. The chick that works the front counter is AWESOME and I wish I could inject their Island Burgers through IV on a daily basis.
It’s even more awesome when you take your noms out to the water and sit and eat. Quiet. Chill. Tasty.
