Tiki Resort

Stayed here four days with the family. The room was on the first floor and had a strong mildew odor. The bed felt like the springs were popping through.
I give it a couple of stars because of its close proximity to the main strip and the staff being polite and courteous.

Stayed here in mid-​October. It’s the end of the season, so most of the things in the area will be closed, which can be a good or a bad thing, depending…
It’s a baby boomer paradise, it’s a spot you won’t necessarily be proud to tell people you’re at, but that sure will make you smile.
The beds were very, very comfortable and clean. Got a great night’s sleep.
We had a Jacuzzi room, which was useless because the Jacuzzi’s are in the bathrooms, and are basically just big, deep showers next to the toilets. Yeah, you’ll shower in the same space as you’d Jacuzzi. Just thinking about all the people there before us… ehhhhhhhh, no thanks.
The vents were rusted, and a weird smell came out of them when you turned on the blowers. We all joked about how gross it would be to sit there in the tub and actually try to Jacuzzi. Don’t waste your money on those rooms. The TV also took a while to figure out, and the phone wasn’t connected.
But, the staff was very friendly and accommodated our needs. We had breakfast in the restaurant off the lobby and it was surprisingly good and affordable.
The indoor pool was nice, though bare bones. No hot tub or anything — just a hole in the ground with water.
So, overall, not really a «resort», and you’ll be disappointed if you actually want to Jacuzzi, but it was great for a night’s sleep.

We stayed for 2 nights and did not spend much time in the hotel but we were happy about that. The cleanliness of the rooms is questionable. When we were checking in there was a cockroach walking past us (what a greeting!)
On the flip side, the staff was very nice and when my friend complained about the cleanliness of her room they accommodated her immediately. The resorts location is optimal for those looking to be a close walk away from lake george town, and to be able to walk up the block for a view of the lake.

Love this place! I stayed in the Motel side. The staff was very nice. The room was super clean! The shower was great. A/​C worked great on the hot summer night. The bed was very comfortable. The place was super quiet at night. It has a nice outdoor pool and indoor pool. We attended the Polynesian dinner show and was very impressed! The food was delicious and the server was great! (I almost didn’t book a night here because of some not so good Unilocal reviews but I am so glad I did! Highly recommended!)

Great place on Canada street. We stayed in a 2 double bed poolside motel that was the further from the highway. I can’t speak for the rooms on the first floor but the room we stayed in was very quiet and peaceful (not a peep was heard at night). The room was CLEAN, and organized. Not your 5 star Four Seasons hotel room but very comfortable nonetheless. Also a 5 min walk to the lake which was awesome. The diner across the street is a MUST VISIT when staying here. We had breakfast at the hotel restaurant which was delicious (blueberry waffle was YUMMY!) Everything about the location was excellent. The only downside was the lady at the check in desk who looked like she didn’t know how to smile. Anyhow, other than that, the place was a great choice for a 3 – 4 day visit. For ppl planning on visiting lake george, always book at least a couple of weeks in advance for cheaper prices! Oh and we didn’t use the pool. No need when the beach is just a few mins away.

This resort offers two very different sides: the hotel and then the motel. We booked the júnior suites in the hotel which included 2 Queen size beds, a microwave, small counter top with sink, separate area with pull out couch, jacuzzi tub, hair dryer, safe, coffee maker, and outside patio. (Sidenote: Always book for the hotel side as the motel dwellers encountered an issue which left them without running water.)
We arrived early but were not allowed to check in until an hour prior to check in. We were able to use the indoor and outdoor pools as well as other facilities in the interim. Skip the indoor pool as it’s mostly used by the kids and why would you want to be indoors in the glorious summer heat?
The staff was friendly and very informative when asked. They generally give you your space– which I like. There is an extremely cheap breakfast option on-​site which you should take advantage of. It will not blow you away but it is composed of the basics so that you can be on your way. Btw their coffee is amazing!
Again, this place is not the Ritz but the beds are super confortable and they are genuinely interested in making your stay the best it can be. It is close to the Lake although a bit on the Edge of the town. This worked for us as we didnt want to be in the middle of the commotion so that we could do our own thing.
It would be nice if they advertised their karaōke and other evening events more but we definitely made the best of it. Dont forget that the polynesian show can be purchased WITHOUT the dinner option! See ya there!

I just left this Hotel and am giving it 4 stars because the King size bed was probably the most comfortable bed I ever slept in and the Woman at the Bar made me and my bf amazing drinks! And she is a sweetheart, just wish I could remember her name it was a Wednesday night if that helps. Just wanted to let her know she is a Gem. Had the jacuzzi suite nice enough but wished it was located on a higher floor of the Hotel as we had little privacy being on the ground floor with no privacy because somehow they fit a family with looked to be 5 small kids in the next room. I may not be back but not because of the Hotel but I thoroughly did not like Lake George. But other than that the Tiki I enjoyed

I stayed in this hotel for one night and it was amazing. The bed and pillows were so comfy I did not want to wake up. The room came with a jacuzzi tub which was also very relaxing. I would definitely come back to this motel again and would recommend it!

The rooms are dirty and overpriced. I had to clean my own tub, that’s something a guest clearly has to do on vacation!
The other negative? There’s a timer on the jacuzzi located outside of the tub!
The pool hadn’t been maintained, and the indoor pool was a bit shoddy.
However, don’t eat here, holy unsanitary batman!

We booked a get away one day off season. For 55 bucks (taxes included) I have no problems with this place for that price. Close enough to down town to walk to a few nice bars but not the beach. We were there after the TIKI show was over for the season so I can’t review it.
Pros. cheap price, clean and nice pools, not too bad rooms
Cons. Needs updating, cracked glass and missing knobs on certain furniture, YOU CAN HEAR A FROG FART BETWEEN ROOMS! Seriously we had a room next to 2 idiots and I could hear his phone calls clearly.
For 55 bucks you can’t go wrong.

If you are looking for a place to stay while visiting Lake George, the Tiki Resort is definitely a place not to overlook. Although, I wouldn’t necessarily call it a «resort,» the price was very reasonable in comparison to other lodgings in the area, the amenities were nothing to complain about, the rooms were kept clean and spacious (for a hotel), and the location was definitely perfect for anyone as we could walk to town in just minutes!
Although we smirked at the idea of not being sure if we were in Hawaii or the Adirondacks, we were not disappointed. We did not see the Polynesian show, but understandably, it is no longer the prime season — however, there is an indoor/​outdoor pool, basketball courts, a playground, and fire pits for grilling. Anyone who is traveling to this area should already know they aren’t going to be in luxury (that’s the fun of the ADKs!), so the Tiki Resort is a step up indeed.

Husband, myself & our 8 year old stayed for 5 nights 7÷6−7÷12÷14. We booked on Expedia and from the pictures on the website we were excited for our stay! We called to make sure we had 2 beds in the room and we were told we would be in the «newly renovated poolside rooms.» Um, yeah, not so much. The floors are large shiny & slippery when wet tiles, the beds were okay, standard hotel room beds (one more comfortable than the other). The bathroom was very tight, and the shower curtain did nothing to stop puddles from happening on both ends of the tub. Which left mildewy tile grout. In addition, the shower fan was not operating and despite being told twice by housekeeping staff that someone would be in to fix it, they never came. This room was far from what I would consider renovated. It was also a connecting room and our side of the connecting door locked, but was so crooked it did not close all the way.
In terms of the rest of the hotel, the pool areas (in and out) were clean, outdoor pool had some cracked tiles being repaired, but overall was relaxing to sit on the deck. The was a waitress who came by intermittently to take drink orders for the outdoor pool (a nice plus).
Save your money and DO NOT eat breakfast here, it was very overpriced for the quality and amount of food. Prices are cheap and so are the servings. Even my 8 year old complained about the pancakes and bacon. Definitely not the «best breakfast around» as advertised.
We did not see the polynesian show, as it seemed very expensive (would have been almost $ 150 for the 3 of us with dinner) and it wasn’t until we came home I found out that there is a show price without dinner… next time I would like to see this show.
We’ll come back, but I might bring clorox for the bathroom with me.
Oh and the free wi-fi…should not even be advertised. I had a better connection from the hotel across the street!

I love this hotel it is the BEST. I have stayed here about 4 years and I have no complaints :-)

This hotel isn’t bad for the price. Wifi sucks. Its a 60s hotel remodeled. Its clean and relaxing. The dinner special is $ 41.00 per person… It better b good for that price?! Would probably stay here again tho.

Needs a face lift! The hotel is very dated!

It may have been the large, red, heart shaped jacuzzi in the bathroom that set the tone for me. If I go back to Lake George i’d look into another place to stay.

We had plans for Lake George this memorial weekend. While browsing their website for accommodations, I happened to discover their Polynation Dance. So called these guys for accommodations as well as the dance show. Somehow I reserved only for the dance show.
This dance show comes with dinner for 42 $ or so per adult. And dance show alone was 25 $ per adult.
So it was saturday and we were in Lake george, the same evening we were at tiki resort to watch the show. Since we guys (2 friends, my husband and myself) had only reserved for the dance show we got there by 7.30pm. We all reached the place by 7.20pm and walked towards the lobby… The staff on board guided us to the Auditorium. This place is huge when compared to other places for Accommodations.
We were in the auditorium and almost all the tables were filled. So we had to take the last table which was close by the bar and away from the stage. The show started by 7.45…
This was much like the dance shows in the cruise. It is performed by a family. The head of the family was basically playing the guitar, his two daughters were the main dancers. His son in law was a drummer. His wife too danced for 1 song. There was a little girl of aged about 4 or 5 who danced as well and she was his gran daughter. All together they performed for 5 songs and there was a little talking session with the audience too.
The team was great and all the performances were absolutely stunning. I must say the best entertainment in Lake George. For 25 $ it was worth seating this show.
Let me tell you, they only take reservations over the phone and you walk directly to the show, you pay the waitress the dance show charges /​Any charges.
We got couple of books which were on the newspaper stand in our lodge. This book had some coupons and this dance show had a coupon too. So look for such books to get some coupons and save a little ;)

Lots to love at the ol’ Tiki Resort. My better half and I stayed three nights at the Tiki for an annual tiki ‘convention’ in the Spring and had a wonderful time. Sure, this is an older property that’s been updated over time, but still has that ‘tourist town’ rough-​around-​the-​edges vibe that truly endears me to a place. We stayed on the upper floor of the newer building at the north end of the property and were very happy with the accommodations. Comfy beds, vaulted ceilings, well-​appointed bathrooms, a big fridge and cold A/​C made this a great place to call home for a few days. The tiki bar is top-​notch with attentive staff who were happy to serve whether at the bar or wading in the crystal-​clear pool out back. The floor show was incredible with multi-​generational South Pacific talent eager to please. We’ll be happy to return to the Tiki next year!

A must see for the Tikiphiles or anyone with an appreciation for anything nostalgic! The Tiki Resort offers a fantastic collection of Witco pieces, along with other great tiki treasures. The Polynesian show is very well done… as is the room where this show is performed! The staff is terrific and always focussed on accommodating the guests of the hotel as best as possible! The hotel continues to make improvements to emphasize its historic tiki/​polypop heritage… as well as general improvements to the guest rooms. Visit the Tiki during Luau on the Lake in late June of each year to really feel the true energy of this gem of a hotel!!!

My husband and I will never stay in this hotel again.
We booked our hotel for one night (a Friday?) and about three weeks before, we decided that we’d like to stay an extra day. We called the hotel, and they told us it was no problem, and that they’d take care of it for us when we arrived.
Upon arrival, they told us that all rooms were booked, there was some sort of event going on at the local racetrack over the weekend, and we couldn’t stay an extra night. I mentioned to them that when I’d spoken with them previously, they told me it wouldn’t be an issue, and they pretty much told me too bad there was nothing they could do. I felt like because I look younger than my age, and so does my husband, that the staff felt like they could push us around, and that we were just going to take it.
I might have thought of tacking on an extra star had the room been comfortable, it was a standard two double bed. It was small, and dingy.
I won’t stand for being spoken down to, or treated like my business is unimportant, so the Tiki can bite me. I mean… I won’t stay here again.
