Nice mom n pop bakery. Has pretty good desserts and a good variety of options. If you come middle of the afternoon your options may be limited as they are sold out of the most popular options.
Haven’t had anything amazing here but everything has been above average to excellent. I especially liked the macaroons

Granted I went at the end of the day so i’m not sure if it makes a difference in the baked goods but I bought a banana bread loaf and to tell you the truth it was dry. The flavor was good. It had some chunks of banana but the moistness of typical banana bread was lacking. I agree that you don’t get a nasty aftertaste from the sweeteners but I wasn’t wowed. The bakery does smell like a chocolatey heaven and I regret not getting any. They do have a variety of other goodies that I want to go back to try so I’m willing to give this place a second chance and I’ll update my review after an éclair! :)

Sugar free cake was tasty and ok. However, the girl at the counter was not friendly at all. She said «No, the price is different» after we asked to change our item from Cheese cake to Tiramisu. How could she said «No» to customer even before she gave us the cakes? We did not mind paying difference. Poor service. Disappointed.

I got a piece of carrot cake at Whole Foods yesterday. It was my first piece from this bakery, and it was delicious. I am trying to cut back on my sugar. My only compliant is I am retired, and this small piece cost me $ 6.49 so I can’t be buying this very often. As a senior and prediabetic, it is disappointing. Is the bakery less expensive? Maybe someday I will get up that way, as I live in San Diego.

I had the cake, it’s light and fluffy. The sugar doesn’t take «alternative» either. Great stuff!

Woohoo! FINALLY ! I can have bear claws, brownies, chocolate Cake, CHEESECAKE.. . and not get SICK or, you know, loose a foot or something!
l went today to try them out after reading so many great reviews. And they are SPOT ON!
Great taste with no funky textures or aftertastes. (Not sure why someone said they had an after taste. Maybe a competitor who’s jealous!)
I went around 1 and the pastries were already claimed :(But I did snag a delish bear claw! Also got a brownie, cheescake slice, a lil chocolate cake, and a macadamia nut Carmel cluster. All very delish!

My first time trying this place. Always intrigued by the idea of sugarless bakery. Got the Chocolate Lovers Cake for 1 of the women at work who can’t have sugar for her baby shower. I gotta say, that cake was like nothing I’ve ever had. Not too sweet, amazing soft whipped «icing». The cake was so light you didn’t feel bogged down after eating a regular cake. It was a hit at the baby shower. My next goal is to try the 1) éclair 2) cannoli 3) tiramisu 4) one of each candy! Did I missing anything! Oh I’ll be back!

Based on the brownies, I tried another treat, which I again bought at Whole Foods… the Lemon Bar. And again, it was just waaaay too delicious to be Sugar-​Free. This place is just hitting ‘em out of the park. I’m going to have to plan a special trip to go down to their storefront instead of buying from the small selection at Whole Foods.

Their stuff is OK, it’s a nice alternative. I make almost all of my own sugar-​free goodies and they are much better than any commercial bakery could produce, of course. I recommend them but don’t get too excited.

First-​time customer driving from North Long Beach and it was worth every mile of it! It was interesting navigating through the parking lot, but there was no problem finding a spot on a Saturday morning.
Walking in to the bakery showroom was just like walking into the ‘Mom and Pop” bakery I remember in southwestern Pennsylvania during the winter… a warm oasis of family feelings and neighborhood. The various pastries, pies, breads and cakes were all beyond salaciously tempting in appearance and olfactory influence. Narrowing down to a decision was nearly impossible, but I settled on the cheesecake. If this was not my BEST decision, it was indeed a memorably EXCELLENT choice! Creamy, flavorful, rich and tantilizing in texture. A breathtaking welcome to a diabetic palate long overdue such an indulgence!
Judging from the variety and organoleptically supreme quality of your not-​so-​sinful sweets, I hope you are graced with a crowded counter of satisfied clientele!

I’ve been recently put on a strict diabetic/​GI diet because I’m insulin resistant and it’s been a really emotional rollercoaster for me mainly because I have the biggest sweet tooth ever. I’m 27 years old and literally everywhere I go basically I can’t eat most of anything I want. Soooo I decided to Google and Unilocal for diabetic bakery and I came across this place. Honestly, when I got there I wanted to order everything, but my husband stopped me a little lol so I got chocolate chip cookies, brownie, Nepoleon, banana cake, chocolate crème puff, Apple cluster thing, and some other pastry I forgot the name. Best believe I will be coming back! It’s like heaven sent for me :) Good thing I only live about 20 mins away!!!

Not having heard about this place I read 100% sugar free on the window and had to stop in to see what it was all about.
They have a descent selection of pastries and pies, priced fairly at around $ 4 each.
I went with an éclair not wanting to go overboard in case I didn’t love it.
It was good, not the best ever, but for the fact that it was sweetened with sweetener instead of sugar it was pretty good.
I think it is great that they came up with a bakery like this for people with diabetes or those wanting to eat less sugar and for that I give them 4 stars instead of 3.
Service was very nice, the store clean, but sparse and not much to look at.
Easy parking right out front.

I love this place because my kids and I can’t enjoy sugar and since this bakery uses no sugar, Guess What? Now we can… thanks Bye Bye Sugar Bakery for letting us be young again and enjoy the finer pastries of life!

I was totally blown away by this little bakery. My dad is a diabetic and trying to find a decadent, sugar-​free dessert (other than your dry, pre-​packaged, store– bought cookies) is always a challenge.
**FOR THE ASPIRING CHEF/​BAKER/​ENTREPRENEUR: I Drove from San Pedro to Lake Forest (1hr 10min) to get a sugar free cake for my dad because there are NO sugar free anything near me! You’re welcome. Feel free to thank me when your business is thriving.
Moving on… The bakery is small displaying only a few cases with chocolate, cakes, cupcakes and eclairs. Everything looks delicious and I’m starving but my mission is a cake. I called ahead to make sure they had what I needed, and since Our dinner party was about 10 people, their available 10″ round was a perfect choice. Always available, they had four flavors to offer: Chocolate Lovers, German Chocolate, Coconut and Strawberry. I grabbed a Strawberry (White cake, strawberry filling, fluffy, ‘whipped-​like’ frosting and light sprinkles around the top edge) and went on my way.
Cutting into the cake I was nervous that we would all have the traditional, sugar-​free experience… The dreaded Splenda aftertaste. Of course for my dad, he was used to it. And besides, he hadn’t had cake in 15 years so he was pretty excited regardless! Everyone takes their first bite including me and I look around…
«Whoa! This cake is freaking fantastic!» «There’s no aftertaste!» «This is really good!» «Are you sure it’s Sugar Free?» «Where is this place again? What’s it called?» From my 7 year old nephew to my 78 year old grandmother everyone had something good to say. Now I just wish I would have purchased a bigger cake!
My dad is loving but never overly affectionate. When dinner was over he hugged me and thanked me for getting the best cake he had had in 20 years. Enough was said in that statement alone. Please support this bakery. They need to open another one!

Wow!!! «I can’t believe it’s not sugar «haha! I stopped in today and everything looked so good I wanted to buy one of each dessert. I brought home a tiramisu, fruit tart, hawaiian bread loaf & oatmeal raisin cookies. they all were flavorful we couldn’t even tell they are sugar free! Friendly service too… Thumbs up to this experience

My review is for the fruit tart:
For a sugar-​free tart that uses stevia as the substitute sweetener, it was pretty good! The after-​taste I normally get from eating stevia was masked and blended well in the cream, so even as a sugar fanatic, I couldn’t tell a difference in the lack thereof.
My only complaint was that the crust around the edges of the tart tasted burnt and overall was rather hard and dry.
Will come back again to try the other creations. :)

I’m picky about my sweets, because I have a sensitivity to sugar. Most times after eating some pie or a tasty cupcake, I feel nauseous, dizzy, or thirsty. This is normally due to too much sugar or preservatives. But, after randomly walking in after picking up some stuff at Home Depot, I think I might become a regular!
I ordered a slice of carrot cake (one of my all-​time favs), as was prepared for it to taste synthetic, like a diet soda… but this was far from true. The taste was creamy, smooth, delicate, and above-​all, no nauseous side effect! It had just enough sweetness to satisfy the palette and wasn’t overpowering.
I’ve had vegan desserts before (can’t remember if any were carrot cake), and wasn’t too impressed with them; there were too dry, and just didn’t have the right «expectation» for what a dessert taste like. This on the other hand was the complete opposite.
Yes, it’s pricey ($ 32 for a cake), but heck, it’s worth it! Just get it with some friends for a special occasion, and you’ll have many pleasant memories. The funny thing is, I just ate it about 4 – 5 hours ago, and I can still taste it in my mouth! So for $ 4.50 a slice, that’s a ~$ 1/​hr for taste — sounds like a deal to me! :)
Go get a slice of cake or the whole thing, and please support them. I’d hate to seen them go under, since I don’t know where to find another place like it!

Recent diagnosis of diabetes is tough, going into the holidays is equally rough. Having my 1^st diabetic BDay felt the worst.
GAME CHANGER
I found this spot while searching dessert options and made the venture to South County. Christmas Eve and the selection was plenty, I scored a German Chocolate cake and it was DYNAMITE! I really enjoyed it and so did the rest of the folks at my party.
I tried the single chocolates and they were also very tasty. Nothing in the store has any sugar. Really heaven sent for me.
This place is awesome, my only complaint is the drive to South County, there is clearly a need for a North County location.

I have long been searching for a bakery that sells great tasting sweets with low sugar and the search may finally be over. What’s better than low sugar… how about NO sugar! Yes, that’s right the Bye Bye Sugar Bakery is a NO sugar bakery that serves tasty sweets that are diabetic friendly. Although I myself am not diabetic, I have several members of my family that are and thus this place is great. About a year ago my father in law passed away from a battle with diabetes that caused numerous health issues beforehand and really acted as an eye opener for me and my wife. This place was a great find and the prices are also quite reasonable.
The Bye Bye Sugar Bakery is located in the city of Lake Forest off El Toro in a large center between Muirlands and Rockfield. The girl that works here is very friendly and will answer any questions you may have on any of the goods in house. DO NOT let the name fool you and think that the goods will be tasteless as this is far from the case. On both trips I have had to this place I opted to get a variety of tasty treats to share amongst each other. We have ordered the Fruit Tart, Crème Puff, Napoleon, Éclair, Cannoli, Tiramisu and my wife even had the iced mocha. All of the goods have been great tasting and you would not realize that all sugar had been removed and replaced by Xylitol (a diabetic friendly sugar substitute also found in dentist approved gums).
The prices for a typical sweet treat are between $ 3 – 4 and they also offer larger treats such as full size cakes and pies (can also be purchased by the slice). All pies must be ordered in advance but I definitely have my heart set on trying the Blueberry Cream Pie at some point. The treats are also not small and they give you very nicely sized pieces (especially the Tiramisu). If you are health conscious and want to enjoy the sweeter things in life without having to worry about the sugar intake this maty be a place for you. I have had zero luck finding anything else like it and for the price and health benefits this will be my place going forward when I am in the area. Check this place out!
