OMG so yummy. You know those time when you’ve been walking around shopping and just feel like you wanna little snack, not something you have to sit down for, but something you can eat and still window shop at the same time. Ya, this is it. I hit this place up on a night walk through the area and it hit the spot. There cinnamon sugar pretzel was on point! I might just make this place a routine stop while I’m in the area. Helpful staff and fast service. All in all, great yummy experience.

The only reason this is not a one star review, is for the food. The pretzels themselves are delicious, and always cooked to perfection. The service, however, is appalling. The one thing I particularly enjoy are the Wetzel Bitz. Considering they are plastered all over the menu, and they wear advertisements for them on their shirts, you would think they have them ready. They never do. «It’ll be ten minutes.» Every. Time. When you say that’s fine, they will then roll their eyes at you, huff and sigh, and start making them. The staff don’t seem to know anything about the surrounding area. There were five people in the kiosk, and one person was both taking orders, and filling them. I think she was also making the pretzels. The other four were doing nothing. At least they’ve finally been split from Haagen Dazs, so there are a few less people standing around. Ultimately, if you’re looking for a quick bite, don’t look here. If you have time to kill, and don’t mind the attitude, this place is great.

Located in Disney World Marketplace in Downtown Disney. Same as almost any pretzel place you go. We went with the pretzel dogs. They were $ 4.59 each, and I’m not sure if that’s more when we get them from a local mall, but we did have to request fresh ones because the ones they had in the window looked old. One cashier, and one person packing the food and trying to make pretzels attempting to serve all of Downtown Disney makes this a slow service experience. Funny thing, though, even though its located smack dab in a Disney property, you cannot use the Disney Dining plan or Disney gift cards to make purchases here. UPDATED to add, I went to a local mall here in Atlanta and bought a pretzel dog today and it cost me $ 3.49, so you pay an extra $ 1.10 in Disney. That’s understandable.

I head a rumor that Wetzel’s was founded by not only a former Disney Cast Member, but a former Jungle Cruise skipper! Now, while I cannot confirm or deny this fact — my Google-fu is turning up some rather unreliable leads — I can contend that these are some of the best soft pretzels and associated bready and delicious items you will taste! I particularly enjoyed the cheese pretzel, the jalapeño pretzel, and on occasion, the cheese dog — a hot dog wrapped in pretzel dough and yes, topped with cheese. Mmm. In fact, while I was an intern, I made it a habit to take a stop here before headed into the AMC theater, because I knew I could get a consistently good and reasonably priced treat here, as opposed to the concession stand. In my heyday, I can even confess that my visits included a cherry granita as part of my order, but in more recent times, I’ve shied away from the scary amount of sugar that I can imagine comprises this slushy treat… nevertheless, the pretzels stand as an indulgence worthy of blowing your weekly carbohydrate levels.
