Saddleback Inn

My husband and I went there for our 19^th anniversary very nice place needs new beds my back is still in a lot of pain from there beds, we couldn’t do much sight seeing or walking around due to my back problem wish I would have stayed home and saved my back its current state of pain all i can say is that the name fits.

On our first trip to Lake Arrowhead we got lucky & chose The Saddleback Inn for our stay. It was the greatest lodging decision we’ve ever made. The rooms are great, the staff is amazing & rates are very reasonable. Within walking distance to the village, restaurants, and of course the lake :)
PS. Karaōke Fridays is the hottest party in town. I’ve even seen many celebrities here belting out tunes at the top of their lungs.

My man and I stayed for New Years Eve in Big Bear and I was in charge of New Years Eve and new years day. .my handsome man planned from Saturday to Sunday. he planned the 2^nd half our trip in Lake Arrowhead.. He wins on the hotel stay! Not willing to admit to where we stayed in Big Bear but let’s say. We will never stay at that place ever again. when we arrived on Saturday to Lake Arrowhead to the Saddleback Inn, we were greeted by the most wonderful front desk man. Michael is a Gem of a find in this day and age. he’s a modern day Genie in a bottle. he made our stay so beyond the norm OUTSTANDING! ! I WILL NEVER EVER STAY AT ANOTHER HOTEL IN LAKE ARROWHEAD EVER AGAIN! SADDLEBACK WAS TRULY OLD SCHOOL FEEL AND CLASS.
We’re not stuffy or rigid and willy nilly spending crazy people. we both own our own businesses and know what awesome customer service is all about. not only got a very good deal on the room which was by far the best bang for the buck, but made you feel like home when you walked in. Every staff greeted us with a smile and greeting. We were able to check in early and stay later at no additional fee. So FYI there are no elevators but their staff had no problem taking it up 2 flights for us. there are ground level rooms and are very nicely equpt for handicap and elderly accessibility wifi worked fabulously (which did not at our previous hell hole of a hotel in Big Bear that boasted free wifi), the continental breakfast was great and coffee outstanding. The rooms were super clean and beds were very comfy. Dinner the previous evening was amazing as was the service from the dinner staff (Justin our server and Michael our table runner were so conscientious of every thing! Rose was our cocktail server and her recommendations for drinks and appetizers were spot on! (Breaded mushrooms and in house pot stickers and sauces were amazeballls (btw.it’s on a special menu)! I had never stayed in the Saddleback Inn before this weekend and had I known what a terrific experience we were going to have, I would’ve only been staying in Lake Arrowhead at this lovely Inn. I’m not a person who requires to be catered to ²⁴⁄₇ as I know some do, but I was spoiled and taken care of by genuine individuals who love their jobs and working with strangers on a daily basis and they said our names and Michael (front desk) once again anything we needed was able to make our trip one of the best. stepping away from our memorable trip this weekend I reflect on the importance of spending time with your loved ones and not about frivolous spending. The Saddleback Inn staff made us feel we made friends for life and have added some new family members to our clan! We will be returning to this hidden treasure in February and summer time. We couldn’t have been more pleased with our room, the atmosphere, the people, location. just perfect! Well done guys! We will be back for sure!

I like the «free breakfast with room» when they charge you a $ 15 (per night!) resort fee that is for breakfast, Internet, phone, and self parking… The last three are pretty standard so I would say it looks like your breakfast isn’t so free after all.
The inn is beautiful on the outside and decent on the inside. Bathrooms are a little dated but everything works just fine. I like the fireplaces in the bedroom that is a nice touch in the winter :)
Watch out for karaōke if you are in certain rooms don’t expect a romantic night it… You will hear music from below until midnight.
Overall decent stay, a little pricey though.

My girlfriend and I made a wise choice and decided to stay here for a night. Now we are both considering calling off work so we can stay longer. Michael at the front desk made all the difference. If it wasn’t for him, I would not have left a review. Not to say there was nothing else worth mentioning but his enthusiasm and willingness to make sure we enjoyed ourselves is unmatched. I asked him if they had any cups for wine, we didn’t want to drink it out of plastic, he shows up with wine glasses and a nice standing ice bucket. We didn’t have a wine key, he quickly had a waitress open it. Everything we needed, they provided with a smile. They don’t have room service but you can order to go food from their restaurant downstairs and bring it to your bed. We had the calamari, rib eye, macaroni and cheese, spare ribs and vanilla cream brulee. We we’re in fawking heaven. Thank you again Michael, we will definitely be back.

First time staying in a cottage type setting. First time with a spa tub! Very cool experience.

DO NOT STAY AT SADDLEBACK INN! Had ALL my Tiffany’s jewelry STOLEN out of my suitcase from maid who cleaned our room.

The cabin was clean and the bed and linens were excellent. The jacuzzi tub was a pleasant surprise. My dog was also welcomed with a smile. The staff was very helpfull and very friendly. The whole inn was very well kept and clean. Can’t wait to visit again and will recommend to my family and friends.

Came here for a Sunday night dinner and from drinks to lobster appetizer to our main entrées, which were a filet mignon and rib eye couldn’t have been better… best dinner I’ve had out in a long time! Will definitely be back next time we visit Lake Arrowhead

Came for the night. Smaller comfortable cabins nestled in the woods. Quite with nice deck for lounging. Space is mostly for two people (at least ours was) so with two kids we used air mattress that was provided. The bath is very modern all tile with jacuzzi tub. Breakfast comes with package nice wooded setting

My husband surprised me for mothers day with a getaway here. Great service and rooms! The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is one night eating there was on point! The next night was a terrible experience. I’m just guessing different chef or off their game :) free breakfast wasn’t what I was expecting in a good way. Small buffet of everything you want for breakfast.

We have been to the saddleback grill twice now and we have not been disappointed. We recently move here from Pasadena and we find the food to be delicious, good service and clean restaurant. Be never stayed at the inn myself, so I can’t say if it’s nice, but the restaurant food is good.

Very disappointed!!! After we were seated the hostess brings napkins and tableware and leaves it on the table. We had to pass around the forks and knives and so forth. When our waiter came he said he would come back with bread. It never came. The waiter passed us several times attending to other customers asking us to wait a moment longer. He finally took our order but kept looking away and we had to repeat our order again. I was brought angel hair pasta which was dry and tasteless. The entire bill came out to 85 dollars for 3 of us. This was a shameful excuse of a restaurant. My sister did enjoy her chicken that is why the 2 stars.

Extremely poor in almost all regards — poor food, terrible service. My first time at the Inn, the head cook decided to retire early for the evening, which meant the kitchen closed while I was still ordering. The second time, I ordered the dry rub ribs (recommended by the staff) only to find that they are anything but dry rubbed. If you like fatty, though, these are for you. Try getting the game of your choice on the bar TV and you are handed a remote to operate yourself. When it doesn’t work, all you get is a shrug. Really, really poor all the way around.
I will go out of my way to dissuade people from dining here, which is unfortunate given the lack of good options in Lake Arrowhead.

Cute little cabins, could use some updates but great for the price. Word of advice: eat out at one of the local coffee shops or diners for breakfast, the complimentary one they offer is terrible.

This was our second time here and we got a 1 bedroom cottage with a fireplace and a jetted tub. Still a plus that its close to a ⁷⁄₁₁ and close to lake arrowhead village. This will be our hotel to stay at when we visit :) staff is always friendly.

We just love the place and would love to come back again.
The Queen size room is the best for two people. The bedroom is neat and it has fireplace and heater which are very useful in Autumn. The bathroom is spacious and we do love the Jacuzzi. But it was just too bad that the hot water wasn’t enough to fill up the tub.
The front desk, Michael, was very friendly. I am a tourist coming from different country and he answered my questions in a very pleasing manner. Which I do appreciate it so much.
We had dinner at the restaurant, I ordered the Chicken Gloria, Jack Daniel and Sprite «yeah I know. «Weird combination»., which I had to give 1 star because I only like its cheesy pasta while the chicken was not delicious at all. But my boyfriend’s «Giddy Up» Steak was a BOMB!!! 5 stars for that one!
Ariana, our waitress, was very helpful and friendly as well. The workers are giving such a good vibes so we do feel this place is very homey.
The breakfast was just fine. Nothing very special about it.
And one more good thing is because this place is quite close with Lake Arrowhead Village that has few stores and some restaurants.
Do visit the lake to take pictures and grab some chocolate at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. The hot chocolate is perfect for a cold weather in Autumn.

Just A-​Ok…
The room was clean, but at the same time not. The front desk was nice, but not exactly 100% pleasant.
This hotel just gives you that eerie feel when you stay there. From the outside, it looks okay but when you get in you get that spooky old feel.
Clever that they put the name of the old star that stayed in your room, however, I wish they would keep the hotel a bit cleaner. I found 2 trash bags inside my room and there was mold on the ceiling and chipped walls.
Great that there is a jet tub and a comfortable bed, but other than that., the red and green carpets along with tacky décor, kind of threw everything off.
The hotel needs a little bit more renovation and also décor to make the place seem like it did back in the early 1900s, but not tacky.
Other than that… the free breakfast, brisk walk to town, and abundant parking does make up for many things.

Came here in January and really fell in love with Lake Arrowhead, it was snowing and I was still on a high from Christmas and New Years. The Saddleback in while a little older still had plenty of charm, we stayed at the Bruins Cabin, it was 2 stories and had room for about 5 people, large upstairs, large sofa bed and a roll away in the room. The cabin, had a gas fire place, a old school jet hot tub (it got the job done), 1 and half bathrooms, and a kitchenette.
While it was supposed to be a romantic weekend getaway trip I did feel guilty about having all that room for just the 2 of us. Breakfast was great, actually brought it back to the room. Will definitely plan to come back.
