Hi from Ty… I am a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer that started his diving career in the cold waters of Monterey Bay Calif. After Traveling to Maui and diving the warm waters of Maui, I decided pursue the dream of teaching out in Hawaii.

My passion is Diving and sharing the Love of the Sea with all those that would like to try Scuba.

Ty was great with the kids. He was able to reach them the necessary safety procedures for them to dive safely and we were able to complete a 35 min beach dive. We saw a great sea turtle and several eels as well. My kids were blown away.
We are going back in a few days for another round. This time with pictures. I would recommend this to anyone interested in having their kids learn to dive.

Had a awesome first dive today with Ty at Airport Beach! I lucked out and got a 1 on 1 dive. Ty was very knowledgeable and made sure I knew the basics and was comfortable. Once we went under, we spent the entire time under water and I really enjoyed not having to go to the surface for air. I felt really comfortable diving with Ty and had an amazing time! Saw better coral than I’ve seen at Molokini or Honolua Bay! We saw a sea turtle and some nice starfish. I rented a camera and he made sure to get a lot of great pictures of myself. My only regret is not having booked a dive for earlier in my trip or I’d book a second!

I dove w/​Ty in Maui last week after 2 years of being out of the water. Needless to say, I was a bit nervous and anxiety ridden and he took cautions to ensure that I would have a safe and successful dive. I appreciated his thorough communication booking and his calm demeanor and professionalism once I got to Mala. Our group was simply 2 making it easy for him to keep an eye on me and ensure my safety and comfort. Gear was also well maintained. Water and mangos at the end were an added treat. Thanks, Ty!

Our group had a great experience with Ty yesterday! He took good care of our Discover Scuba Divers in the classroom and in the water. His easy going attitude and clear explanations were a great combo.

Ty was a great dive guide. Filled with knowledge about both shore dives we made. The old pier was a great dive and he was full of knowledge about the local dive spots and even made some great dining recommendations. He went out of his way to keep us updated before the trip and made the whole day a really great time. I would recommend Ty to beginners as well as experienced divers.

We had a great time diving with Ty! I was a little nervous at first since this was my first time diving, but Ty helped me relax underwater and I was good to go! He was very clear with instructions, professional and laid back at the same time. Ty was on time, brought everything we needed to dive, knew the best and safest diving sites and was a pleasure to talk to! He took pictures of us underwater as well! I absolutely love them! I like the fact the he only takes very few people on each dive, making it a very personal experience! We had a lot of fun diving with Ty and I would definitely do it again! I would highly recommend Ty for any of your scuba adventures! He is the best on the island!

Booked an introductory dive with Ty on May 1, 2014. Great communication and directions. He even rented snorkel gear for the week at a great price.
The dive around Black Rock was great. Ty explained everything, was patient and despite a bit of initial rough weather conditions everything went very well. Got to see a few turtles, a ray and even hear a whale song. A great experience and I will be sure to book with Ty on our return trips in Maui

Ty is a fabulous dive guide. I have dived in Maui several times and he is the best. He takes time and makes your dive a personal experience. He doesn’t advertise much, just word of mouth but we know that’s the best kind. He made arrangements for us at the last minute with no muss or fuss. Call Ty for a great dive experience

Ty was our dive instructor and guide a couple of years ago when he was at the Sheraton hotel /​Black Rock.
He’s on his own now and I managed to find him through Unilocal.And more importantly he’s diving off Ka’anapali Beach next to the Westin Ka’anapali Ocean Resort where we were staying.
My son isn’t dive certified but Ty’s great about doing intro/​discovery dives. He went through the training /​safety instructions /​test in about an hour. Then we were off for a 45 min dive around the reefs off the beach. Easy dive — didn’t get to see turtles this time but saw a good amount of fish and a spotted moray eel!
Ty is easy going, safety conscious and made sure we had a good time. We’re coming back to Maui in April and will look for Ty again.
