Went in as a walk in and the next day went and bought polish remover. Terrible mani. Pedi was fine but don’t recommend. Have to say they had an irate customer while I was there because her appointment was messed up. She was horrible and ruined the otherwise pleasant atmosphere for the rest of us. They did handle it well for her tho she didn’t deserve it but didn’t apologize to the rest of us that had witness it.

I had a pedicure with callus removal. I don’t know who did my nails but she did a great job and she was very nice. The massage portion seemed extra long which is always a plus. I’m from San Diego and I was afraid a pedi on Maui would be expensive but they have pretty standard prices here.

I really love Unilocal!I had No clue where to go in Maui for fills and I read the reviews here and requested Anthony. He was so precise with his work and super nice too. Salon clean and nice owner too.

$ 100 for a mediocre pedicure. I felt like I was totally robbed. I did do gel polish but it wasn’t super high end. Chipped nails the next day. Super over priced.

I just moved to Maui and needed to find a new nail salon with reasonable prices… Luckily I stumbled upon artistic nail. When I called to make an appointment the girl on the phone was so sweet and friendly. When I walked in for my appointment everyone had a smile on their face and was very welcoming… The guy at the front desk was super nice and carried on great conversation with me… and by the luck of the draw I got Anthony as my nail technician… He was so nice and outgoing. I enjoyed conversation w him and he had a great personality… Right when he started I could tell he had a lot of experience… He was so fast but also very thorough! He did my whole fill in 30 minutes. He did a wonderful job on my nails. I am so happy to have found a person in town that also has reasonable prices and also a staff that’s a joy to be around whenever I come in!

My daughter and I were desperate for manicures. We turned up late and were greeted with smiles. My 13 yr old of course had chosen a complicated design before arriving and Kim was very patient and talented enough to make my daughters dreams come true. The place was clean and modern and owner was calm and sweet. Would highly recommend visiting here. We will be back again soon.

I have been here several times when visiting over the past few years, and they always do great pedicures. I prefer coming here over the hotel spa! Friendly, efficient and clean. I will keep coming back!

Best pedicure ever! I highly recommend this place for anyone. We came on vacation and prices were great and the service, massage, everything was one of the best I’ve ever had! Very friendly staff!

If your visiting Maui don’t pay top dollar at a resort. Go to this local place and get an even better manicure and pedicure and then you would at any top resort.

Came here to get a fingernail polish change and pedicure ahead of my wedding. They did a nice job and were accommodating. Had flowers added to two toes on my feet which was nice :) Thought they did a good job. I would note that my manicure started peeling just 4 days later — but I don’t know if this is due to their work or due to the time I was spending in the pool /​ocean. Would absolutely recommend.

Clean, fast and super friendly. Family owned and easy to find and access location. They have been in same location 5 years and This is my third pedicure here in the last 3 years. If you want convince and a reasonable price this is the place.

I had a $ 5 service and they wouldn’t accept a credit card. I had to withdraw money from their ATM, which charges $ 3+ fee. There is no sign anywhere noting this policy. Very inconvenient.

I am usually happy with the service, but this time I asked for a French pedi and it seemed to be something they could not get right. I was disappointed that it took 5 time before they got it right. This is not the norm, but it seems they have a few new staff members. Let’s hope next time they brush up on the services they offer. I thought for sure they would have discounted my bill but nothing.

At first I wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt. I work in the service industry (hair) and I know how difficult it can be with multiple appointments and what not.
The one good thing is this salon follows all regulations and cleanliness is up to par. However, my pedicure was rushed, toes not trimmed short enough, massage was no pressure and my tech got up 7 separate times to do tiny things around the salon /​help others techs with guests. I understand being the owner needing to help other techs there but then do not over book and set aside time to help them. Then she sat me down for my fill and a woman walks in with a 4:00 appt (10 minutes late) and is not wanting to wait, causes a scene, & my nail tech stops doing my nails MID SERVICE to do her nails. She told me 5 minutes to fix a chipped nail. 30 minutes later she started me and I told her I was on a time crunch to catch a flight and needed to please be out in 45 minutes and she assured me I would be. 1 hour & 15 minutes later she finally finished and I was almost late to my flight with not so much as an apology for 1 stopping my service 2 running over time and 3 her little attention to the guest she was working on.

I love coming here. All of the nail technicians are skilled and detail oriented. The pricing doesn’t empty out my wallet and the customer service has me coming back all the time. I got a french tip mani and it still hasn’t chipped after two days! Even after working so much with my hand it still looks great! Thank you and I will be back soon!

This place is a joke. They rushed the whole pedi– and slopped on the polish so it was literally running down my toe. When I brought it to the woman’s attention, she tried to fan it dry with a price list and ended up smudging my second toe. Rather than fixing it properly, she licked her finger (gross) and tried to tap the wet polish back into place. SO tacky, not to mention disgusting!
Go to Happy Nails in the Gateway center instead…

The pricking is not bad. The customer service is great. This is the only place I come to get mani and pedis. I have tried other places in town and I have been disappointed. Only down fall is lack of colors to choose from. I’m a more options better. They do have a decent amount and I do find something but more would be nice.

Ran out of time at home so I had to get a pedicure our first day in Maui.
This happened to be the closest nail place to our hotel and wow am I thankful.
Anthony was awesome. Absolutly one of the best if not the best pedicure I’ve ever had.
Highly recommended, wish I could take him back to San Diego!

3.5 stars. Decided to do a walk in with my sister in law and mother to get our nails done. Luckily, they still took us even though it was packed. French gel mani and pedi please. Super relaxing especially on the massaging chair and the girl went right to work. Based on the reviews, I kept my eyes open on the owner but I didn’t notice any rudeness whatsoever. He was pleasant and nice. He made sure my mom was content with her services.
What I loved about this place was how skilled these nail technicians were. My nails came out pretty, elegant and perfect. Just too bad the gel only lasted for 4 days before it started chipping. FAIL! One of their policy is if you go back within 3 days, they will fix it for you for free.

1-​star: reservations made a day ahead and salon could accommodate our schedule.
+1: prices sounded reasonable, $ 30 for gel manicure, $ 40 for regular mani-​pedi, $ 20 for little girl’s mani-​pedi with design.
+1: the mother-​daughter were able to sit together and the girl’s chair was a pink butterfly seat, supah cute.
–2: service was rushed because they kept taking walk-​ins, and the manicurist practically polished off my cuticles because she was in such a hurry. I went to wash my hands and when I got back, someone was already sitting in my seat. WTH?
So I wandered to the front to pay and no one seemed to notice, so I was thinking maybe the manicure was free? But seeing as how my friends were still getting their pedis, I couldn’t make a clean getaway!
Artistic Nails is located in Fairway Shops next to Whaler’s General Store. An alternative to resort spa prices, but consider a weekday instead of a weekend if you need to go.
