History

Established in 2009.

Zia Threading was started in 2009 Summer at Laguna Hills Mall. However, it was moved to the new location at Mother’s Market plaza right at the corner of EL TORO rd & Paseo De Valencia. Zia has been serving the South Orange County at this new location since Jan 1st 2010.

Zia had almost over 1200 customers who are very excited about their eyebrows & Henna Tattoo done at Zia.

I’ve been coming here for more than 5 years to get my eyebrows threaded by Noreen. I love love coming here and even after moving away I travel about 30 miles to come see her every two weeks. It is worth it and the few times I’ve tried another place they mess up my eyebrows therefore I am loyal to Noreen. I also love that she spends quality time on my brows right down to the trim, it’s perfect and I’m always complimented on my brows. On days they are really busy I don’t mind waiting because I know I will receive the same quality service the person before me received as well. Noreen also always remembers me and all the things I have shared with her, kind of like your hair dresser/​therapist lol. After 5 years she is not just my eyebrow lady, I consider her my friend.

I wasnt a fan of this place. They did an ok job with my eyebrows. The lady thinned my eyebrows quite a bit which i wouldnt have minded but my eyebrows were completely different. To top it off i had to hear them laugh about another customer that had just walked out. The lady helping me wasnt involving herself but i was extremely uncomfortable as the other 3 ladies cackled and made fun of the customer.
I wont be returning.

They do a good job, but to me, it depends on who you get. I really like Añu and she does a very good job for me. The only complaint I have is that sometimes they talk to customers for too long and don’t pay attention to the fact that people are waiting for them. They need to make sure they consider customer time, and not spend so much time socializing.

Been coming here for years! I love all of them. There is not a person working here who doesn’t do an amazing job. Weekends during the day do get kinda busy, I always try to go during the week around 5 – 6 if I can so there is no wait. I love that they have reward cards I always love getting my free threading!

Really good prices! Only $ 10 for an eyebrow threading, didn’t have to wait very long. Was in and out in about 15 minutes. I was really happy with my eyebrows after, I had never had them threaded before and loved the way they came out. I would definitely go back and they even have punch cards for each visit l.

I have lived down in SD county for three years and I honestly always make the trip and only get my eyebrows threaded here. The quality of service is really that good for me.
I went through a period of time when my eyebrows were honestly just out of control. I’m super protective of them now, and have had really bad experiences threading in other places. I’ve been going here for about four years, and I’ve had my eyebrows done by anybody who is available at the time, and I’ve never once been disappointed. I’ve even taken three or four other people there and every single time every single person is happy with the result. This place is clean, the staff is always friendly, and even when it’s busy I never have to wait that long. And what’s most important is I always looooove how my eyebrows look afterward. Definitely always worth the trip for me — excellent service, and excellent eyebrows.

Been here with my sister a few times. I’ve never had my eyebrows done here, but was in the area and in desperate need to get my eyebrows done i walk in and they had a sign up by sign in sheet saying «CASH AND CHECKS ONLY» as someone who NEVER carries cash or checks on them i had to leave and go somewhere else. They’ve always done a great job on my sister but just thought they deserved 4 stars as they advertise that they take debit/​credit cards which is NOT true.

I’ve been to this place more than three years but I think Im not going back anymore! I came in today to get me eyebrows and upper lip done. Since I walked in two of the ladies were talking at the counter looked at me from head to toe and kept talking in there own language not even greeted me. The lady who did on me not even ask what shape i wanted. End up she cut me on the right eyebrow. When i point it out to her she said its ok. Not even say sorry! Seem like she didn’t care at all. Very unprofessional and unacceptable!!! If you want to go to this place you not get the shape you want, you’ll get what they want to do it for you!!!

I moved to the OC a couple of years ago and have been looking for a good face threading salon. After a few disappointments I found Zia threading. I love it here, the customer service is great, the girls are very nice and they take their time with each customer. They don’t rush you out of there. I’m definitely going to be coming back here for a very long time.

It was my third time to have my eyebrows threaded in this salon and I am always pleased on how they turn out. I just disliked the rude lady who worked on my brows today. I understand she wanted to engage in a conversation asking question but for some reason I could not understand her. Until it got to the point she told me «Nevermind, you don’t understand» in a condescending tone. Also she complained about my ingrown hairs because I tweezed in between having my eyebrows threaded.
It doesn’t hurt to say thank you to someone who tipped you 20% despite finding you rude and unaccomodating. And because I do not want to get more upset, I forgot to have my card stamped.
I am still reconsidering coming back but probably I will skip a session on two and go to the one in Lake Forest.

I’m new around the area and found this place because it was conveniently next to the place that I get my nails done. When I first walked in, the receptionist looked up at me and then looked down. It wasn’t until I went up to her that she actually greeted me.
Overall the price is okay for the service you’ll get.
The only concern and warning that I have for anyone reading this is that I get my eyebrows threaded all of the time (at a different location) and this is the first time that my skin got a reaction to the service that they provided. My skin was red and bumpy for a WEEK (and it still is) and when I asked her if this was okay, the receptionist said «oh yeah it’s fine, it’s completely normal. It’ll go away».
They did not put any hand sanitizer before or after threading, and all that they do to «calm» your skin is put rose water in it.
I do not recommend this place to anyone.

I’m so over this place. I used to live close by and came here at least once a month but since I moved further away, I only stop by on occasion. This past visit will be my last. I agree with other reviewers that their quality has gone down hill. They were only friendly to customers that they recognize and to everyone else they were short and abrupt.
I asked the person threading my brows what she recommended as far as the shape for my brows but she kept accusing me of waxing my brows. She kept insisting that I did and that they shape of my brows was bad. She didn’t understand that I was trying to grow my brows and needed help with shaping. My brows ended being way too thin. Supposedly that was the only shape she could do for me. I had been growing my brows out since last year when I was pregnant and my son is 8 months old now so don’t accuse me of waxing when I tell you I haven’t and then take off over half the brows that I’ve been growing in all this time!
By the way, don’t offer to thread anyone’s upper lip if they don’t ask you to.

I have been getting my brows threaded at Zia every two weeks for the past four years. Lately I have noticed the quality of their work has declined. The services feel rushed and I have been disappointed with the results when I leave the salon. Today I visited 20 minutes before closing and was informed that they would not be able to help me because they take the last customer at 5:45. It was not 5:45, there was no one else in line. As a regular customer of four years I didn’t expect to be declined service before the time they regularly take last customer. I had been looking for a new eyebrow place already and after this experience, I won’t come back here.

Just wanted to update that I’m very unhappy with the results. There’s definite irritation on my eyebrows. I would HIGHLY recommend trying my go-​to place: Brow Mantra. They take special care after they’ve threaded to ensure there’s minimal thread burn. They use hand sanitizer before they begin and ask customers to use it too for extra cleanliness. Brow Mantra also uses cooling lotion afterward for minimal irritation.
Zia uses rose water but I don’t think that was enough. Sanitation is key.

The girls do a great job at Zia! I usually pop in after my nail appointment, as this location is located conveniently down the street from the nail salon I go to and they take walk ins.
I have had my eyebrows royally messed up at other threading places and I can say that they do a really good job here! I always end up leaving with great shaped brows and they actually listen when I tell them that I do not want them to look too thin! I love the rose water that they offer at the end of the appointment to help soothe my skin. They are also resonably priced.
The only con is that it smells a little bit like dog pee in the salon.
