Victoria Wang, M.D. is a Board-​Certified Dermatologist with interests in medical dermatology including skin cancer, acne, warts, rosacea, psoriasis, eczema; cosmetic dermatology including injectables and lasers; surgical dermatology including Mohs surgery; and pediatric dermatology.

She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Society for Mohs Surgery.

Victoria Wang, M.D. is a Board-​Certified Dermatologist. This talented dermatologist received her Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University, graduating Summa cum Laude with department honors. Dr. Wang received her medical doctorate from University of California San Diego, graduating top of her class.

Dr. Wang received her dermatology specialty training at Northwestern University School of Medicine in Chicago, one of the top 3 dermatology programs in the country, following a transitional internship at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. She has been practicing dermatology since 2009.

She has presented research at numerous national and international conferences and has given talks to the community for a number of years.

She has published many articles in leading scientific journals and has even been a peer reviewer for the Pediatric Dermatology journal.

Dr. Wang maintains privileges at St. Joseph Mission Hospital.

I used to see Dr Wang a couple of times. She is a very sweet lady. Today I came in with a PPO blue shield insurance and was told she is not in the network. I have to pay full amount to see her. Sorry I need to change my dermatologist.
Update: so after I left the office Dr Wang called me and explained how they work with different types of insurance. She kept apologizing for making me wait in the office before figuring insurance. It wasn’t her fault anyways. She offered me 1 free consultation and I can tell she really cares about her patients and wants to make patients happy and satisfied. I have to say I love her even more.

The staff was helpful in setting a quick appointment and there was almost no waiting time when I arrived. The office is modern and clean. Dr Wang answered all of my skin concerns and explained the necessary procedure that I needed in a way that I felt comfortable with. I will recommend her to family and friends.

Alta Dermatology is great! The office is beautifully decorated and is almost spa-​like, but still a professional atmosphere. The staff is always so friendly and you never have to wait in the waiting room for long. They also can schedule you that same week, sometimes even the same day! Which is a huge plus since most dermatologists I’ve called are weeks or months out for scheduling. On top of all that, Dr. Wang is the sweetest dermatologist I have ever been to. You can tell she genuinely cares about her patients. I’d recommend this dermatology office to anyone!

I am very pleased with Dr. Wang and her office. Getting an appointment was easy and quick, and the office is polished and friendly, the staff warm and efficient. Dr. Wang is very friendly and clearly knows her stuff. She evaluated me quickly, and since she was so fast, I also had a full body inspection, which only took a few minutes. She gave me some good ideas and advice, and I liked her a lot. I will definitely recommend her to family and friends.

I called the office on Wednesday as a new patient and was offered an appointment for Thursday (the next day) amazing; when was the last time a doctor’s office actually had next day appointments for new patients?
Not only can you get an appointment quickly; the entire office runs on time! Another huge plus– I work long hours and can’t spend hours waiting in an office for a doctor running late. I did not have to wait at all.
Dr.Wang and the staff are super nice, they were very caring, explained everything they were doing and asking if I had any questions along the way.
They did a biopsy in the office on a spot and followed up with me with the a few days later on the result and a treatment plan. They answered all my questions, advised me what to expect and next steps. They took time to answer all my questions with complete answers (which many doctors don’t seem to do)
If you need to see a dermatologist I recommend Dr Wang!!!

This place has safe my life. I have been gone to many places but my skin was just getting worse and worse. I have been suffering with my skin problem for years. Couldn’t sleep because I was so itching during the whole nights, and have to covered my skin everywhere I went. Since I’ve come to this place my skin has just getting better and better. The itching has gone after I came to this place just two weeks. The services were super friendly. The place is so clean. I really wanna thank this place as much as I can. Now my life has been back to normal.

Dr. Wang is friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. She was careful to get my records from my previous dermatologist. She always asks if I have any questions. As with every doctor I’ve seen, there isn’t a lot of time to interact, so it’s better think ahead about issues/​concerns/​questions. Overall – recommended.
Dr. Wang is part of the Dermatologist Medical Group of North County, which has three office locations. I have being going to the La Jolla office.

Scheduling appointments: Long wait for the first appointment, like most offices. Follow-​up appointments are easy to schedule.
Finding the place: Easy access from the Genesee exit on the I-​5.
Parking: $ 3 cash with validation ($ 4 without) for all-​day parking when you enter the Scripps medical complex. There is a parking garage attached to the Ximed building with access by a footbridge on the 3rd floor. You have to drive past the Ximed building and turn right, then drive past the valet parking and turn right into the garage. (There are also additional parking structures further away from the building, so it’s easy to end up in the wrong structure.)
Office: Average waiting room with TV, magazines, and a water cooler. The bathroom outside the office does not require getting a key – a plus.
Front desk staff: Okay.
Wait time: Varies. I usually come in the mid-​morning, and it’s around 15 min.
Exam rooms: Most are the typical, small rooms. There is also one larger room.
Assistants: Reasonably friendly. Once you in the exam room, they confirm the reason for the visit and write down all the things you want to ask the doctor about.
