Seaside Air Conditioning and Heating

Seaside installed heating and A/​C about five years ago in part of our house in Carlsbad. We were very pleased with the work & service, so, few months ago, we asked them to install two new A/​C units in two other parts of the house. This time their work is so SHODDY it is hard to believe it is the same company. After only two days, one of the systems failed. They took several weeks to fix it & also had to relocate a badly situated part and a rusty blower they should jave checked when installing. Now, a couple of months later, the other new unit has failed because of bad pipe installation. No apology, no offer of recompense. THIS IS NO LONGER A COMPANY TO RECOMMEND. SHODDY, EXPENSIVE WORK.

These folks installed my new HVAC unit back in 2005. This past week, I smelled gas from the furnace section in my hallway, and they responded immediately. The rep was great, on time, very professional and found the leak. It was a worn out part, so he replaced it and also advised me of another part that was wearing out and would need to be replaced at some point. We went ahead and replaced both parts, and everything was running great. The rep also noticed I had a plug-​in style carbon monoxide meter in my bedroom and recommended we get one that would attach to the ceiling over our furnace closet — he said it would be much safer for me and my family. I appreciated the feedback and bought a new one to go over the furnace closet on the ceiling that same day.
In a few months, I’ll have them out again to take a look at my AC unit, since I’ve never had it looked at since being installed. It’s been running great all summer, but the rep explained to me that I should have it looked at before next summer rolls around.

I had no idea what to expect when I contacted Jim at Seaside. I bumped into him at Starbucks and completely interrupted his lunch. In true stalker-​like fashion, I even showed him a photo of the electrical unit which had burned out, causing us to lose AC on one of the hottest weekends of the year. He told me what the issue was, how much it would cost, and provided the office number to call to schedule a visit. I contacted the office and they had him at my house within two hours — on a Saturday!
Jim was prompt, professional, and even talked to my home warranty company so I could be reimbursed (their company wasn’t available until the following Wednesday!). Hopefully, we won’t have more HVAC issues, but if and when we do, I’ll be sure to call Seaside.

In 2007, after interviewing a few different companies regarding a central A/​C replacement, I met with Victor, the owner of Seaside. Of all the A/​C reps I interviewed, I was most impressed with Victor’s character as well as Seaside’s competitive prices. Seaside’s guys came out and installed my A/​C quickly and efficiently without any problems. I had some issues with my thermostat (not the fault of Seaside), and Victor promptly returned to troubleshoot and fix the problem.
A few years later, I needed to add A/​C to a room addition, and Seaside sent one of their guys out to install it. Once again, the price was very reasonable considering the amount of intensive labor involved. It was challenging to figure out duct and vent placement, but Seaside’s guy worked with me (which I appreciated) to figure out the best plan. He did a super job!
Most recently, during the hottest part of summer, my A/​C stopped pumping cold air. I called Seaside and they sent someone out that day (imagine that!) who troubleshot and fixed the problem in about ½ an hour — once again, at a reasonable price.
Because of all the great experiences I’ve had with Seaside, I was surprised to find some unfavorable reviews here. I have no doubt that if these customers had talked to Victor personally, he would have quickly rectified their concerns. I have confidently referred Seaside to quite a few neighbors and friends, and will continue to use them for my future A/​C and heating needs.

Where do I begin… WoW!!!
I originally had my system installed by Comfort Advisors and boy was that a mistake.
After being giving the run around I finally gave up and looked for another company to help me with this issue.
Eric from Seaside was a true pleasure to work with, showed up on time, checked out my equipment and let me know the process & time line. The following day his colleague came and got everything up and running!
Let’s just say it’s night and day between the two companies!!!
Seaside Air you now have a customer for life but hope I never have to call on you again.

WOW!!! I came home yesterday to find that the painters working on my house had yanked a crucial wire out from under my a/​c unit while ripping off their masking tape. Imagine my alarm when I looked at the clock and saw that it was 5:05 on a FRIDAY! I contacted my homeowners association, and we started calling around to get my air conditioning repaired. (I have two 11 ½ year old dogs that were panting badly…). Between the two of us, we called over eight different «Emergency Repair» places and left messages. The only one to call me back was Victor from Seaside! He was able to contact one of his technicians, and within an hour, Jesus was knocking at my door! What amazing service!!! Jesus was so sweet, and he was able to have the air conditioning back on by 8:00p.m. My dogs were happy and so was I!
I will be a lifelong customer because of their prompt service and their very fair prices:-)

Called to have a Mitsubishi ductless system put in, was told that I would have to pay double for the unit I wanted in which I can find online from multiple stores for much much less. I asked if I were to buy the unit myself and have them install it could they do it? «Yes» they said but we could not warranty the unit (???) this makes no sense, its a rip off, they will only warranty exact same model that I want but only if Im willing to pay double for the unit. Thanks Home Depot for referring me to this company — not !!

Had my HVAC serviced because it was not blowing cold air. The diagnostic from the technician was that I needed several lbs of refrigerant added and should last me through the end of the year. The technician does not know if there was a leak or not, and I’m not sure if any attempt was even made to troubleshoot? There was a CYA recommendation that I schedule for a separate leak detection appointment to determine leak.
So, the HVAC ran cold for a couple of days, then stopped blowing cold air again. In short, I burned over $ 200 to get AC working for a couple of days with no forward progress nor answers. Now I need to find another contractor to diagnose/​fix it for real.

I’ve never had a more pleasant experience with a home service company. I had been told by another company my furnace was completely fried and needed replacement with a $ 5,000 estimate.
Eric Malley came and quickly diagnosed the problem and gave me an impromptu lesson on how HVAC systems work.
A $ 40 part later and my system was up and running. I so impressed, I won’t consider using another company for any of my HVAC needs.

Just had an AC /​furnace installed in my home. I had numerous companies give me estimates for the job. Eric Malley (Seaside AC Pro) though Home Depot; came to my home and immediately impressed us with his knowledge of the products his company offered. He was very professional and easy to talk to. It was also obvious that he enjoyed his job.
The install team (Rob & Kirk) and Eric showed up on time; installing our system in one day. They were professional and knowledgeable about the equipment they were installing. More importantly they didn’t seem to mind my numerous questions as they worked.
I highly recommend this company!

Was not impressed at all. Met them at Home Depot to Do a tune up. No one called me after and told me they shut off the gas. Meanwhile after I called them they said it needed $ 1700 with of parts but I should just replace it. It seemed odd as this unit is only 10 years old. I called a company I had used in the past and they went out right away and fixed it with no parts needed in 15 minutes for $ 170.

Very professional and excellent service. Jim was knowledgeable and was able to explain clearly and concisely the recommended repairs. Reasonable and efficient.

Probably the worst company that we have ever used! Would not recommend this company for any work. They were so bad we actually asked them NOT to finish the work and we would finish it ourselves. Trash left in the attic, leak in the bedroom from faulty work, electrical outlet not covered properly, the list can go on and on. We are contacting Home Depot about them and trying to figure out why they would use a company like this.

I have never been more satisfied with an A/​C company in all my life! Eric Malley was SO helpful, knowledgeable, professional and courteous. Fixed our problem in minutes and it was during the «heat wave» in So. OC when everyone else was too busy to come out. We were referred by Home Depot, never thinking that we’d get this kind of awesome and QUICK response and problem solved with the thermostat! Don’t walk to the phone to call them… RUN! Even the receptionist Erica was so friendly, helpful and kind!

We found Seaside Air Conditioning & Heating via Home Depot. We worked with Eric Malley. He came to our house to get a quote but he was able to diagnose & fix the problem quickly & efficiently. Eric was friendly & professional. I was so happy to have our furnace back in working condition. I would happily recommend their services & would recommend that you have Eric work with you.

We found Seaside through Home Depot. We worked with Orlando, their sales manager to obtain a quote and find the right furnace for our home. They were reasonable and fast. The installation was excellent. My husband is a mechanic and really picky and he said Seaside was the first company he’s ever felt 100% satisfied with their installation. He felt the installation was perfect and very clean — meaning everything was wrapped, installed, and placed in the best manner to function. We had our furnace installed last year and have had no problems. Seaside’s office staff were great as well, setting up the inspection appointment with our city for approval of our permit. We highly recommend them and would definitely use them again.

Definitely recommend this company! Came on time and fixed the problem immediately.
