Established in 2004.

As of July 2014, Dr. Tran will be joining the excellent physicians at the Tayani Institute (Laguna Hills/​Mission Viejo) office. Excited to serve her returning and new patients in the Southern Orange County areas.

Dr. Tran earned her Doctorate of Optometry at the Southern California College of Optometry in 1998. Always striving to help others, Dr. Tran has volunteered at multiple Gift of Sight missions in Thailand, El Salvador, and Mexico. Through her dedication in the optical field, she has also been awarded the Luxottica Horizon Club Award. She specializes in contact lens fitting and the treatment of ocular diseases. Dr. Tran had her private practice serving the communities of Laguna Woods, Mission Viejo, Lake Forest, and many other surrounding areas since 2004 and now relocating into the Taj Mahal building in Laguna and by the Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo.

Best eye doctor, EVER!!! My ENTIRE family and I have been seeing Dr. Tran for years. She’s very patient, very pleasant to be with and truly cares for her patients. She has a wealth of knowledge and is very confident in her work and practice. LOVE, LOVE, LOVER her!!!

I went to see Dr. Tran based on all the positive Unilocal reviews. The wait wasn’t too long, which was good. An «intern» took me to three different rooms (all the rooms with the right equipment were full) before I got to meet Dr. Tran. Dr. Tran was nice and the exam was like at any other optometrist I’ve been to. Before our exam was over she explained that if I order a year’s worth of contacts, the price is comparable to costco’s prices. So I ordered my years worth of contacts and they told me it would take 3 – 4 days. Well over 2 .5 weeks later, no contacts. I call the office, and the contact specialist tells me that it looks like the order is there but was never placed??? With no apology, she tells me that she will call me back, well 2 days later… no call. how unprofessional. I will probably have to call them back to figure out if I will ever receive my contacts. Not happy with the staff here and will NOT be going back to this office. WHERE ARE MY CONTACTS??? So annoyed.

I was seen by Dr. Tran at the Mission Viejo Tayani institute location and she is the best! The wait to see her was so quick and easy! She checked my eyes and thoroughly explained how much my vision has changed in the last year. She really took the time to make sure I got all my questions answered and her recommendations were great! I highly recommend her!!!

Dr. Ann is the best OD ever! She has been taking care of me and my sister for over a decade. She makes great recommendations and is very experienced. She has a wealth of knowledge and one of the few ODs who follow up with their patients despite having a long list of clients. There were times when I needed to see her urgently and she found a way to take care of me. I look forward to visiting her in her new place of business.

Dr. Tran is wonderful. She is very knowledgeable and really cares about her patients. I believe her dedication to eye heath may have saved my vision with diagnosing my early stage of glaucoma. I can’t thank her enough.
The entire team of professionals, including the adjacent optical center (my family and I alway buy our glasses there) are very helpful and try hard to accommodate our budget without compromising style. I would highly recommend them.

I’ve been a patient for several years and I’m always willing to drive an hour from San Diego to see Dr. Tran. Making an appointment was easy and there was a very short wait time each time I went. She’s very helpful and answered all my questions. When I couldn’t find my prescription to get new contacts, she was able to fax it over to the store so I didn’t have to worry about it myself.
I needed to get a prescription for some eye drops during my last visit and the receptionist was helpful in calling the nearest pharmacy to see if my insurance would cover it. Dr. Tran also made note of alternative drops to reduce the itching in my eye at an affordable price if I couldn’t get the prescription that day.
I highly recommend her if you are looking for an optometrist.

Dr. tran was AWESOME! I had read the reviews here on Unilocal looking for a good optometrist because all 4 others that i had been to had given me the wrong perscription or charged me way too much even though i have insurance. Then i went here and Dr. Tran was THE BEST! She took her time with me, explained everything and the pricing was more than fair!!!(she was super good with me-​a starving student) I finally have found a great optometerist and can finally see! :)

Dr. Ann Tran has been my eye doctor for almost a decade! She is wonderful and knows what she is doing and very good with explaining what is happening to my eyes and translating to those of us who did not go to optometry school. She is very friendly, understanding, and great with kids. My mother does not speak a lot of English so it helps that she speaks Vietnamese too. She gets the job done and with great precision. My visits with her go by fast which helps in case you are in a time crunch.
Her staff is very friendly and efficient. My calls to the office goes through smoothy.
This place is A+++.

I have all positive things to say about Dr. Tran and her wonderful staff. They are knowledgeable, thorough and friendly. Dr Tran takes her time to explain the procedures, go over the test results and provide recommendations on types of lenses suitable for my needs (I’m blind as a bat — and want to look fashionable with my colored contacts and reading glasses). She’s been examining me and the kids for past 5 yrs. I could not say enough on how wonderful she is with my 2 & 3 yrs old boys. I would highly recommend Dr. Tran and her office to anyone looking for excellence eye care provider.

She always takes great care to ensure she is hearing your needs and explaining her prescriptions and recommendations.
