History

Established in 2011.

After 15 years as a hair designer, I became a trainer for Minx nails. I fell in love with nails, and furthered my experience at the Spa at Pelican Hill Resort for a summer. I now focus on providing luxurious 5 Star manicure and pedicure treatments in an intimate environment.

I love life and all it has to offer! There is so much to learn and do, and why not do it all? I am a true «Renaissance Woman» who blazes her own trail.

I have a Masters degree in Psychology and have been a cosmetologist for over 20 years. If I am not doing nails, I am busy writing, training and doing research for major companies in the beauty industry.

After working for the Minx Nails, developing the training programs and learning from the industries best Minx stylists, I wanted to be a MINXER myself! I got addicted and wanted to bring a touch of Minx into the life of every woman I knew!

I look forward to hearing from you and helping you feel glamorous!

Mary Ann is amazing! I have been told by more than a few people that I have feet of a Spartan. My thick callus’ sometimes split an hurt and I long gave up hope that my feet would ever be close to normal. Mary Ann completely turned me around. I have never met someone as meticulous and thorough. Pain free perfection! Some call her the callus queen and I’m calling her the most beautiful nail geek I’ve ever met.

I was looking for a new mani/​pedi place so I turned to Unilocal for suggestions. OC Minx stood out due to the five star ratings so I felt compelled to check it out.
The ratings did not lie. Mary Ann is amazing. She is very personable and has a passion for what she does. She is an artist who creates her own colors & products which she is always excited to try out on her patrons and I’m more than happy to be her guinea pig.
I am always willing to pay a bit more when it goes to a small business owner as opposed to a large corporation. OC Minx is a true gem!

All OC ladies who luv spoiling yourself by getting a professional pedi & mani… This is the place! Mary Ann goes above & beyond … She even produces her own beautiful nail polish line (Mystique) that has cool colors and is «5 free» … Which means it is non-​toxic and doesn’t contain chemicals like formaldehyde, dibutyl phthalate, toluene, camphor and formaldehyde resin. I get a mani twice a month, so it is important to me that the products used are premium quality and the salon is clean and beautiful.

I started going to Mary Anne because of a toe injury that left me with very specific needs for a pedicure. She took great care to make sure I was not in any pain and that the treatment was totally hygienic for my foot. Her pedicure chair is so comfortable! I loved the level of service and care. Definitely going back. She also has amazing products to purchase for home remedy foot care.

Mary Ann is great at what she does and is up to date on the best
products and techniques. I have been a licensed manicurist for 29 years so you can bet I’m picky about who does my nails. Hands down the best manicure I’ve ever had. Polish still on after 5 days and cuticles still looked great and pedi still looks like new. I will definitely be back!

Mary Ann is awesome. I have NEVER had such a good pedicure and manicure and I have been to a lot of high end salons. Her attention to detail and total focus on you is fantastic. I really can’t compare the quality of her work to anyone else I have ever been too. She really loves what she is doing and it shows. I think her prices are a bargain for the quality of her work and the time she spends on you. I really enjoy the time I spend having my nails done and feel like I am spending time with a girl friend. She is truly the best nail specialist I have ever been to and I don’t plan to go anywhere else.

Minx pedicure lasted 6 weeks! After about two weeks, I noticed the film on my big toes was a bit pushed back. But my nails had grown enough by then that I just cut off the ends and it looked perfect again. They looked great until today, when I noticed one had apparently come off, so I went ahead and took the others off… but they still looked good, other than the ends of my big toes again. Pretty good for 6 weeks later!

MaryAnn gives the best manis and pedis I’ve EVER had, period.
She is kind, personable, warm and welcoming. She’s clearly good at what she does, but also helps to ensure that by taking her time throughout the whole thing. So, don’t come here expecting a quick service. It will take time, but you will love the results, and it will last!
The first time I went to MaryAnn, I opted for a regular manicure, and it lasted longer than any I’ve ever had. Mine usually chip within days, as I wash my hands a lot, but hers lasted 6 – 7 days, looking great the entire time. The second time I went, I got my first ever gel manicure, since I was about to leave on a two week vacation, and she assured me it would last close to the entire time. Unfortunately, it didn’t. It started peeling about a week later. The third time I went, I told MaryAnn about the peeling, and she apologized up and down, took extra, EXTRA care to do another gel manicure on me, and offered a discount at the end. That second gel manicure lasted the full two weeks! She clearly cares about the quality of her work, and wants to make it right.
Her prices are definitely on the high end (though, not out of line with what you might expect for the pricey Laguna Beach area), but totally worth every penny. Treat yourself right, and treat yourself to two blissful hours with MaryAnn!

On 2÷15÷2014 I went to an appointment for a mani at OC Minx. I had been looking for a more personal touch. I was not expecting such attention to detail and feeling like I was the only customer that exists. My set of gels were done over from scratch, the right way and I was thoroughly satisfied.
The appointment was kept on time. My manicurist was dedicated to making sure I enjoyed my time in the salon and was completely satisfied with the outcome.
Overall, my experience with OC Minx was positive. I have found the ideal professional that not only helps me look good, but made me feel good as well. The value is far better that the best spa’s around, with a most reasonable price.
The best validation for my rating of 5 starts for OC Minx, is that I just made another appointment as a returning client.

If you could only use one word to describe MaryAnn’s pedis it would be best to say. … Ahhhhhhhhhhmazing!
When traveling I enjoy finding experiences that are unique, as a first timer in Laguna Beach I turned to Unilocal to help me find a place for a mani /​pedi… all of the reviews from were outstanding so I figured I’d be ok checking her out.
On short notice MaryAnn squeezed me into her schedule and provided a 5 star experience! She text me directions (with landmarks) so I could concentrate on driving rather than the map on my phone. When I arrived she was very welcoming and we started chatting as if we’d known each other for eons.
Though there wasn’t time to try the fabulous Minx polish treat, my experience was lovely. Better yet my feet are so smooth! Which, honestly, is the whole point of a pedi, right?!! I ended up purchasing the shae butter she used on my tootsies and she gave me socks & a few tools of the trade to go with it since I’m traveling. In addition, she is so sweet that she gave me a bottle of polish to match the shade on my toes and incase there were any mishaps after I left!
Ladies if you are local, you are lucky! MaryAnn is so worth the drive into Laguna!

I had an appt this afternoon and had a wonderful experience. It was very nice to be able to have a conversation without the usual chaos of most nail salons.
Mary Ann is very friendly and is easy to talk to. She is enthusiastic about her work and it shows in the amazing final product.
I used my Unilocal coupon with no problem. I had a gel manicure that was completed patiently and with top notch products.
My pedicure is super cute. Big toe with fishnet style silver/​orange and rest of my toes matching orange.
I highly recommend OC Minx for your next mani/​pedi.

I got a pedi+ mani with my mom today and I just had to start writing this review right then and there… while I was sitting there watching my mom being treated like a goddess by Mary Ann.
Mary Ann is a beautiful and wonderfully charming lady who takes care of you with the highest attention to detail! She takes time looking at your nails/​skin and even chats about polish color options with you…
I am completely relaxed and already feel lucky that I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Mary Ann and her unique way of making one feel 100% gorgeous!!!

Mary Ann has such a fun loving and sweet personality. I am always trying to find a nail salon that takes their time and educates clients about healthy nail routines. Mary Ann does that! She goes over what is best for your own nails and how to maintain healthy ones. It’s a far different experience from your nail chop shop. I have been trying to find a place to go that takes their time.
I took my mom with me, she def needs help with her calluses. and is at an age where she cannot really reach her feet anymore. Mary Ann is the CALLUS QUEEN! My moms feet were magically transformed to young baby fit again! We are definitely going to go back.

I had to write a review because after I got my minx pedicure I got stopped by absolute strangers every where me and my minx toes went. I had seen minx on a friend about two years ago and had been dying to try it. Mary Anne must have been trained in customer service because she was 100% attentive to my needs and various questions about the process. Moreover, a few days after my pedicure Mary Ann called to see how the minx was holding up and asked if there was anything that wasn’t just right. I told her that I absolutely love the way my toes look!
I am writing this review exactly two weeks after I had my minx pedicure. They look exactly like they did the day I had them done 2 weeks ago — flawless.

So I would give Mary Ann a 5 star review, just because I love Mary Ann, she is an AWESOME lady! But I wanted a legit assessment of my shellac gel manicure and my minx pedicure.
Firstly, she is extremely professional, easy to get along and communicate with. She had to do a major rehab of my chop shop gel nails and she really spent her time and gave my nails the love they desperately needed.
As a result my nails are super long strong and healthy. The shellac also lasted a decent amount of time. I was overall very pleased. Her shellac FAR FAR surpassed any other gel manicure I have ever received.
The MINX, ah the MINX, LOOOOVE it! Besides getting a bazillion compliments, it is by far the most lasting nail application I have ever experienced. My toes typically chip after a few days. Its been a month and my toes are shiny and chip free. Love MINX.
Although very pricey, Mary Ann and her services are full of value. I would recommend to anyone looking for the BEST in nail care and up to the minute trends.

Mary Ann is seriously a nail master! I had heard great things about Minx nails and found OC Minx while searching for a location. Called Mary Ann and she got me right in on the exact day I wanted before I left on vacation. I got a minx pedi and my nails stayed beautiful through sand, salt, chlorine, and high heels. Mary Ann is so kind, warm, and gentle and you truly feel like you are getting the royal spa treatment, nothing like the chain nail salons. I am now hooked! She is the only one I will trust my fingers and toes with from now on :-)
