Mike Raisor Ford Mazda

I recently purchased a 2007 Ford Edge. It only had one key, so I went to the dealership to have a second key cut and programmed. At that visit they told me the about a fuel tank recall and helped me schedule an appointment for the repair. They put protective covering on the seat and floor, tagged my keys and directed me to the waiting room. Soon they provided a shuttle ride to my house. The driver was pleasant and it was convenient to not have to wait or have a family member drive me home. They replaced the gas tank and notified me when the work was complete and offered a shuttle ride to pick up the vehicle. I felt like the service writers were very professional and it seems like the work was preformed to specifications. Having the shuttle ride made it a lot easier to schedule the repair. They explained other service that is recommended, but I didn’t feel pressured. I appreciated their safety inspection.

The service department is awful, typical «How much can we get them for attitude» brought my 2005 F150 in after losing third and fourth gear. The service writer tells me after the tech had a brief test drive that the trans needs replacing.
Questionable. They hadn’t even opened the transmission up, with absolutely no idea what the problem actually is, he suggests a $ 3200 brand new transmission repair. No rebuild, not investigative inspection, just replace it.
I told him I was leaving and would like them to bring the truck around front. He then tried to charge me a $ 120 diagnostic fee, I realize diagnostics aren’t free but that is flat out ridiculous. I told him that was an astronomical number for diagnostics and he flung out the number $ 94 seemingly on the fly. Red flag number 2.
At this point I demanded to see the service manager who’s name is Phil, he was quick to agree with me as a service manager should be and got me out of there for a reasonable agreed upon fee. However at the end of the day the captain is responsible for his crew. Somebody has taught that crew some shady practices.
I wouldn’t ever consider going back, even for an oil change.
This review is directed solely at the service department, I had no interactions with sales.

This company sucks!
Especially the collision center!
Bad attitude, never call you and give you the update like they said they will, not be able to get the things done on time, etc. AND they don’t feel sorry about.
Personally I repaired my car here few times, every time there is some kind of problem. EVERY TIME!
Once I give them my car for almost 2weeks and they can’t told there is the problem, at end they told me «you need new tire» WTF? It take 2 weeks to find out I need some new tire?
Just don’t repair your car here!
Staidly I bought the car from this company, I will regret it for the rest of my life!

Be warned Derek Hickman will take advantage of unknowing elderly people. If you try to get information to protect your family member he will play dumb and act like he can’t give you the information. If you ask for the trade amount or cost of the car he’ll just respond with «uh I don’t know». If you prove the lower cost of an equal vehicle at another dealership he will act like he’s looking it up and then let you know it’s much higher even though you are holding it on your phone to compare. Do not expect excellent service and you may be best going to another dealership that does not over mark the cars to such an extreme. Just remember a car salesman is not your friend especially if it’s this guy that preys on the elderly.

This is regarding the Service Dept.
We had a problem with the heat not working at all in the back of our new Ford E350 van, so we called and made an appointment for warranty service. We dropped the van off first thing in the morning. At the end of the day we had not heard back anything, so we called them (never a good sign).
The service rep tried to say they hadn’t diagnosed the problem yet. After further questions they admitted they had our van all day long and never even pulled it into the shop to look at it! They wanted to hang on to our van for another day. I told them not to touch it and we would bring it somewhere else. Unreal.
With our kids’ activities etc. there’s no way we can let them hold onto the van for another day in the hope they might look at it. I told the service rep, Jeff, that we would be over to pick it up. I guess in the mean time they tried to give it a quick looksee.
When we picked it up they claimed to have checked the temperature of the air conditioner and that everything was just fine. But the original problem was No Heat in the Rear of the Vehicle. And, not surprisingly, there is still Zero Heat in the Rear or the Vehicle.
We had also asked them to quote buffing out a scratch on the roof of the van. This, of course, did not get done either. No quote, nada.
So our van spent whole the day at Mike Raisor Ford and they did nothing with it. My impression is that this service department is a disorganized hot mess. Now we will need to drive the van to Brookston or Tipton for warranty service, but I guess that’s better than losing your vehicle all day for no service at all.

So this review is about the Mike Raisor Pre-​Owned Center:
I bought a VW Tiguan in September; it was a very pleasant and straightforward experience. I felt very well treated and the car was in excellent condition (and still is)
They did a good job with calling me to remind me of appointments and they will also call you after the purchase to make sure everything is OK!
Since I went to a different dealer with a friend I can sort of compare this experience to the one at Mike Raisor and I have to say that I was even more impressed with Mike Raisor and their level of professionalism!
They also made sure that the manufacturer guarantee was transferred to me and since I needed the title a little bit faster than usually they expedited the delivery and I had it within 2 or 3 days which is amazing!
All in all, a very good and pleasant experience!

I brought in my Audi A4 for fixing up a few things. They charged me $ 47.50 «inspection fee» to tell me that the armrest lid was broken (something I had pointed out). Really? X-(They charged another $ 95.00 to look under the undershield and tell me my water pump had a leak (something MIdas had told me for free). Another $ 47.50 for _​guessing_​that a small screeching sound while turning was coming from broken vent tubes. In all I ended up paying $ 200 for «inspection fees» for things Midas had already told me for free. I got my power window fixed and that too was a half assed job, because even though the window works now, one mode of the switch doesn’t. The good things are that they have a shuttle service. The customer lounge is usable and the help desk is polite.
Update:
The day after I posted the above review, the manager (Chad) called me to make amends. He offered to refund the entire $ 237 inspection fee but I requested him to charge only what was reasonable. He kindly refunded me $ 150 which I felt was. He claimed he had been manager for only 3 months and he is trying to improve the practices there. I hope he’ll be successful. I’m glad that they are listening to their customers and trying to make them happy. Hopefully Chad will be able to turn the ship around. Thanks Chad.

I had my car totaled by Mike Raisor’s Mazda service center. Now they are refusing to compensate for the damage. In short, they drove my car without oil, it resulted in rod knock (requires new engine), which exceeded the value of my car. They have played ring around the legal system and are refusing to compensate me. Personally, I think they are trying to take advantage of a young kid fresh out of college with limited resources.
Full story: My ’04 Mazda 3 hatchback (131,000 miles) was taken in for an oil change and to diagnose a road noise. It was handed off to them in excellent condition except for what turned out to be a cupped tire. It was parked out side overnight, when a ‘catastrophic failure’ of my oil filter housing occurred. All oil drained out of my car at night. The next morning they drove it into the shop — didn’t smell or see the oil on the ground (roughly 4 quarts that spread in a 3×4 foot area on top of white snow) and didn’t see the oil light on. While driving the car into the shop a loud bang came from the engine. They found it was leaking, fixed the leak (at my cost), and continued with the road noise. The car was picked up a week later and was found to have violent metal on metal noise which was later diagnosed as rod knock.
The main issues:
–Technician didn’t see the oil and didn’t see the oil light on the car.
–The part that failed is a known issue this car model car. You can Google ‘oil filter housing failure’ and it will pop up in various places and include the engine tearing itself apart.
–Service informed me of driving the car without oil, but not the ‘loud bang’ or the ‘rod knock’.
— They have had limited availability over 3 weeks of trying to get this settled. I need to commute to work, 3 weeks is unacceptable.
–And lastly, I have heard from their insurance (also impossible to get a hold of) that they will not be compensating me based on the sequence of events.
I’m sorry this is unacceptable. I wish I had the same luck with other reviewers. But ultimately, in the simplest sense — great car given to dealership service. Car given back without functioning engine. I will never go back here. I will never associate with anything Mike Raisor. Utterly deplorable.

I know zip-​zero-​nada about automobile repair. I had a business associate recommend Mike Raisor Ford’s service center and decided to try them out (even though I have a Dodge Caravan). Wow! They have taken great care of both my Van and my wife’s PT Cruiser. When my transmission went out last year they really went to bat for me with the extended warranty company and after 2 weeks and several inspection the replacement transmission only cost me $ 75.00 (my deductible).
They always give me the strait story and I never feel like I’m getting jerked around. Thanks Adam!
