Our specially trained math instructors will teach your child how to understand math in a way that makes sense to him/​her. Our unique approach enables us to effectively explain concepts well and provides support and encouragement in a safe, non-​judgmental environment. Our individualized math tutoring ranges from grades 2 – 12 including higher level Algebra, Trig, and Calculus, Our instructors will also set aide time to provide math homework help. We know how to teach your child math!

History

Established in 2004.

Founded in May of 2004, Alan & Lisa Iguchi have built a well-​respected reputation for helping thousands of students in the Boulder County area. Our instructors are all trained in the «Mathnasium Method» which successfully motivates and encourages students to develop stronger math foundations as well as number sense. This, in turn, builds enthusiasm for learning and a love of math.

Meet the Business Owner

Alan I.

Business Owner

Also known as «Dr. I, the Math Guy.» Alan’s love for mathematics first began at seven years of age when he found that he enjoyed learning his times tables! His fascination with the subject led him to first major in mathematics and then in physics in college. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Physics from the University of Hawaii. Alan comes to Mathnasium after spending over 20 years in technical marketing and sales management. During his career, he enjoyed the technical interaction with customers and the challenges of meeting their product performance requirements with leading-​edge technologies. However, he also long felt a strong desire to make a positive impact on young people. Thus, he and his wife, Lisa, founded Mathnasium Boulder in 2004, and have since helped thousands of students in the area. Alan is a favorite with the kids, since his aim is to pass on his enthusiasm and fascination with numbers.
