I’ve been coming to this nail salon for eight years now, and decided to treat my mom to a mani/pedi at my favorite salon. This was her first time here so we were very excited! Little did the employees know, my mom is Vietnamese and understood everything that they were saying to each other. The entire time we were there, they were talking about how ugly one of the client’s toes were, how fat another client was, and general gossip and s*** talking about all of the customers… They said many other things about my mom that I won’t repeat here, but rest assured, I will never come here again. Very rude staff.

I have been going here for many years. Tony does a great French manicure. I always get compliments. Just had a wonderful pedicure from Kim. I highly recommend this place!

3 stars for a few reasons. I was a new customer yesterday and I made an appointment over the phone and was attended to as soon as I showed up. However, I found it odd that the man doing my nails didn’t do a single thing to my nails/hands before he began my full set. Didn’t ask me to wash my hands, no cuticle cutting, no anything. Just went straight to gluing my tips on. He also didn’t put a towel or anything down on the nail station, and I could feel dust/dirt on the station with my fingers. A couple of the tips he applied don’t fit my nails very well, which is frustrating. He really didn’t take the time to measure them well either. I feel like some of the mistakes could have been fixed had he looked at my cuticles or filed my nails a bit. His gel work was also a little sloppy. Those of you who have had gel know you can’t let the clear polish pool in the sides of your nails, or it’ll cure hard and not look great. That happened on a few nails. Overall, they’re decent, but I wouldn’t go back. I’ll go somewhere else for a fill or new set. P. S., $ 40 for a full set of nude coffin shaped nails.

First time customer and I have to say I’m quite happy. I was a little skeptical because one of the nail techs didn’t speak to me much she also poked under my toe incorrectly causing a bit of pain, nonetheless my experience here was great. The overall smooth operation made the minor blunder almost forgettable. My nails and toes look beautiful and the employees here are very kind and friendly despite the language barrier. I got an acrylic, gel fill and a pedicure and I honestly have no complaints. My nails are very neat and look even better than I imagined. They were also very patient working with my old acrylic from a previous salon as many salons would just start over. Hoping my next time here is equally as great if not better! Thank you again!

This review might be a little biased because I stumble in on a rainy Saturday and was seen right away. Regular mani-pedi combo here is $ 35 which is not too bad compared to other places in the east bay. The two ladies who tended to my hands and feet were very welcoming! Some times the nail technicians at salons aren’t the warmest. The massage was great… lasted long too! Maybe it was because no one else was waiting so I assume if there was a wait it would be shorter. I was out of the chair and in the drying station, which by the way has a bowl of candy, in an hour. I’m only giving this place 4-stars and not five because parking is a hit or miss since it’s street only. I only very lucky and found a spot right in front of the salon. Also, my nails were not dried all the way but it never is with glitter!

Don’t go here. Got referred here by a client decided to give it a try. Went for a gel manicure. She cut me on my cuticle, it bled, she squirted a blue liquid on it. I’m not a complainer so I let it go, I asked what was the blue liquid, the bottle said liquid cleanser.. Not good. Then after she finished two coats and the nail polish did not go to the edge of the nail, I asked could she put another coat and the owner said no. Still not complaining, I just shook my head. When I paid, the owner saw the dried blood on my hand, mixed with the blue liquid, and saw that the nails were not painted well and said when I come back she will take care of me. A week later, when my nails already looked terrible, I went back. She told me they were very busy and that somehow it was my own fault because I had had black nail polish before the manicure. What??? Irresponsible and not sanitary. Like I said, don’t go here. I’m an easy customer, it takes a lot to get me this mad, but they sure did it.

Extremely disappointing experience when trying to use a gift certificate. Drove all the way from Martinez to Lafayette on Friday evening. I was being upfront by showing the certificate ahead of treatment. This rude lady saw the certificate and said«We don’t take this. This is from the previous owner». The certificate has no expiry date or terms and conditions on it. The name of the business hasn’t changed either. It’s funny that everytime i asked her about the previous owners contact or phone number, she would pretend like she doesnot understand the question and not answer. I guess there is a reason why the place was empty on Friday evening before V Day. DON’T BUYCERTIFICATESHERE as you never know if the next owner will honor them or not.

I have no idea who left all the good reviews for this pace but I went in to do a color polish change on my hands and toes not only was the lady super rude because I didn’t tell her I had acrylic, ummm ur the nail technician shouldn’t u be able to tell? But she had a hard time taking off my dark polish and glitter off isn’t that the basics of doing nails? Then she passed me off to the guy that works there, horrible pain job on my nails not even and streaky! Only reason i even gave this place a star was they have good selection of polishes but does that even matter if the nail technicians can’t even paint correctly? Horrible place will never return here again!

This 3-star review is bolstered by the kindness and welcoming staff. If I was judging on the result only, I would unfortunately mark this down to 2 stars. While my manicure was fine, my pedicure was painful and uneven. I’ve never had someone round(yes, round) my toenails before and cut them so short. My friend had a very good experience with Tony and her fill, but I’m afraid that I drew the short stick as far as skill and I don’t believe I’ll be visiting Lafayette Nails again.

Just wanted to add to the great reviews for this place! I’ve only had a gel mani so far, but it was fantastic. I walked in during the week and they took me right away. The manicure was good — more so than I typically receive when I get a gel mani. It included all the basic mani stuff plus a good massage on my hands/neck. When it came time for the gel part, they put on these fingerless gloves to protect my hands from the UV(not sure how much they really work, but better than nothing!). It’s not 3 weeks out and not a single chip or peel in my polish. This is really the test of a good gel mani and I will for sure be back. My only slight concern is cleanliness — I am not a huge fan of the pedicure chairs with tubs built in for the germ factor, but that is becoming the norm so I will have to deal if I want a pedi! Prices are on par with other salons in the area as well. Definitely the best quality and I will be back.

Best mani/pedi on the planet can be had… HERE! Probably best to secure your spot by calling ahead– they get busy. Massages are incredible. Tony is perhaps the ONLY tickle-free pedicure giver! Amazing! Nail polish selection can be a little tough — so many choices. The entire staff is friendly and attentive. Prices are reasonable and fair. If having fabulous looking nails is important to you– look no further. Lafayette Nails is your new nail salon!

Lina did a wonderful job for a pedi, and an even better job on my girlfriend’s mani/pedi. Will recommend to anyone and everyone. Was able to walk in without an appointment and they accommodated us accordingly. Appreciate the service, will return! Thanks again! And see you soon! Ps. I recommend the foot message, felt so relaxed after.

This place is awesome! After moving to the suburbs from the city, I had a bit of sticker shock over the higher prices but this place is worth it. They give the most amazing massages(feet, legs, arms, and hands) with their mani-pedis and take a lot of care when doing your nails. I definitely recommend this place if you want to take an hour or two to relax and pamper yourself.

I’ve been a loyal customer of Lafayette Nails for the past 10 years — the service is usually quick and consistent, technicians are friendly, and the mani/pedis are great. That being said, I came back for the first time in a year or so(having moved out of town) and had a lackluster experience. My sister and I were told we would have to wait 20 minutes before we could be helped, which was fine. After 20 minutes, we were seated in the pedi chairs and continued to wait for an additional half hour as multiple technicians worked on one other customer. The staff wasn’t the usual group that works when I’ve come in, and I was hugely disappointed by the service, or lack thereof, that I experienced. So three stars for quality mani/pedis of the past, but from now on I’ll take my business somewhere else when visiting home.

So I’m an out of towner and needed a nail salon in a hurry. Called at 10 am had an appointment at 1pm . Upon walking in I was seated immediately and worked on just as fast. Great selection of colors and the massage was wonderful.
