So much better than chipotle. They make everything to order and use fresh ingredients. Delicious.

I’m not usually into Mexican food, but this place has a couple of special fusion items that are worth a try. I’ve had a couple of their burritos. The garlic-lime burrito is definitely a must, though. Best burrito I’ve ever had. Simply amazing!

Stopped by because I got a flat in Lafayette and had to wait while Big O fixed my tire. Had a simple beans rice, chicken and guacamole and it was super tasty and fresh!

Really good and HUGE burritos! However I ordered the Spicy curry burrito and it wasn’t spicy. Like no spice at all. The establishment is VERY clean and you can tell there is a lot of attention to detail. I saw the back kitchen when I went to use the restroom and it was SPOTLESS and very organized. I would definitely come back. I would suggest that they taste the recipes and adjust as advertised.

We were getting our car washed across the street, so we figured we would try it. We got the chicken fajitas. A good sized portion, but the chicken tasted spongy, gristly, and fatty. We couldn’t eat the chicken. The other items on the plate were fine, the tortilla was good, I would not rush back here.

I have been here a few times while getting my car washed across the street. Every time I have been less than impressed. I don’t know why I have gone back. Today I tried the steak tacos. They had about as much flavor as plain oatmeal, completely unremarkable. The chips were stale and the salsa wasn’t fresh. This was the last chance for Casa.

Mediocre at best. Same as Jalisco in walnut creek. They screwed up my order and its overpriced.

This place is terrible, they list prices for cheap food. Then you walk in and everything is 4 – 5 $ more on the menu. The food isn’t that great i only come here because my gf thinks the lime-steak is decent. Then tonight we walk in at 8:40 when they close at 9pm and they tell me they’re closed and won’t serve us food. What kind of establishment does that to customers. Ive never once been to any place(especially a place that only takes 10 mins to make your food) that has not served me if i walked in before they are closed. This is disrespectful to the quality and service people should receive while eating in the beautiful lamorinda area. I probably wont ever go back, things like that are such a turnoff to a consumer.

Great food, quick preparation. Tons of terrific options like garlic-lime steak burrito, hot prawns, thai — everyone can find a favorite. The portion size is pretty large so I have leftovers a lot.

Just left and pretty good! Food was out between paying for it and sitting down. What, 30 seconds? Which was kinda worrying but I was hungry and the food tasted cooked anyway. Big portion!

We had been here a few times and always had the burritos and they were good. This time we had the tacos and unfortunately they were not so good. The chicken tacos had dry pieces of grilled chopped chicken covered with diced tomatoes, lettuce and onions. It was tasteless and I could barely finish one. The fish tacos had chopped salmon which were ok since they were not dry but there really wasn’t any flavor to the salmon. I was very disappointed. If you go, definitely try the burritos and stay away from the tacos.

Got a steak burrito with chips and salsa. Price was a little higher than a taqueria. Service was great and very clean.

The Garlic Lime and Steak Burrito is awesome. I also order the Burrito Bowl, which is loaded up with tons of veggies, rice, beans, onion, cilantro, guacamole, cheese sour cream, and chicken or steak. You cannot beat the friendliness of the staff here. This is my go to for fresh good food quick. The salsas are pretty decent too. Not your traditional Mexican food, this place is more gourmet for sure, offering Thai Burritos, Shrimp Garlic. The best part of Casa Gourmet is the friendly staff, they always make the food fresh and hot, and they are extremely friendly. A great little gem in Lafayette.

Quite a few years ago I got stung by the Unilocal bug and I guess I can thank Casa Gourmet Burrito for that! Not only did the opening of their Danville location inspire me to write my first review(sniff, that one is closed now) but that review was my first FTR& my first feature in a Weekly Unilocal.410 reviews later, I figure it’s about time to Unilocal the original location that started my whole Unilocal obsession! I’ve been going to Casa Gourmet Burrito for forever and I am a huge fan. I always get the chicken-prawn-lemon where they take white meat chicken chunks, good size(clean**that’s important for me) shrimp and onions then stir fry with lemony sauce before popping it into a take-out container for me over whole beans and a bed of lettuce(I never get the tortilla anymore). I smother that with their orange colored salsa and mix in with their sweet & spicy red salsa… SOGOOD! If I’m feeling naughty, I’ll buy a bag of chips here to either eat with an order of guac or just to enjoy with their salsa. Note: they don’t offer free chips here, but then I feel like most free chips are not that great, so I don’t mind paying for non-cheap decent chips. Not to date myself, but I still remember the days in Lafayette where they were fighting the McDonald’s coming in b/c they didn’t want to let too many big chains in our little«Love Lafayette» area… I think that’s why I still love Casa Gourmet Burrito; Dave runs a little Mom & Pop shop with great food where he tries to give back to the community(see all the sports teams he sponsors when you’re there)…I’m a big fan!

I worked in Lafayette today, but left my lunch at home. So, I decided to try this place out. Not as disappointed as some of the more recent reviews because I read the reviews beforehand and knew what to expect. Yes, this is Lafayette Mexican. With a name like Gourmet Burrito, you should know this is catering to gringos. There was only one Latino customer when I went in. Free wifi with your meal! Server and password are right up at the ordering station. Had the chicken spinach burrito. Let me warn you: it’s piping hot. They make it to order and it burned my mouth, it was that hot. Chips look and taste like they’re mass-produced, however. The burrito doesn’t have the authentic Mexican taste(read: fatty taste). It really does taste like something I could concoct at home as a non-Latina. This isn’t necessarily a criticism of the place; after all, I don’t expect to get a chicken and spinach burrito at a real Mexican place. Very small eating area, but you can sit outside if it’s a nice day, and the umbrellas will shade you from the sun. I didn’t see any bathrooms because the place is tiny. Parking is also difficult. There’s a lot nearby, but you are forced to turn right when leaving. The prices listed here on Unilocal are extremely outdated; everything is about 25% more now. Can’t hold them responsible for that, though, since they do not maintain this Unilocal page. It’s more of a two-and-a-half star place, but I round up.

Oh my god. This place is just not good. I am literally laughing out loud because all of these people in Lafayette actually think this place has good burritos! So I came here because I am from San Francisco and I was going to die if I didn’t have a burrito soon(kind of exaggerating, kind of not). I ordered the garlic lime steak burrito because«it was the best burrito ever» and I couldn’t even eat a third bite of it because it was so bad, so I threw it away. The meat in this burrito was chewy and the sauce… I don’t know what it was but it was not good and it should never exist. I came here because usually Chipotle temporarily satisfies my burrito craving, but I wanted to give other places a chance. I would give this place a 1, but the people of Lafayette sadly love this place, so here’s a 1.5. The staff was nice, too. But the burrito, ew!!!
