History

Established in 2003.

Choices in Health is a state-​of-​the-​art urology clinic for women and men.

Our medical director, Dr. Emilia Ripoll M.D., is a board certified urologist. She was born in Barcelona, Spain and educated in the United States. Dr. Ripoll has studied, practiced, and taught urology in the United States for more than 25 years. Dr. Ripoll’s international experience as a urologic oncologist gives her a unique medical perspective that allows her to put her fingers on the pulse of the latest therapeutic advances from both continents.

Dr. Ripoll’s is the author of two books and dozens of articles on urology. Her specialties include brachytherapy and cryotherapy treatments for prostate cancer, innovative treatments for interstitial cystitis (IC), as well as anti-​aging medicine with a special interest in andropause and male hormone replacement.

Dr. Ripoll graduated from the University of Colorado with honors, where she later went on to complete her surgical internship and did a year of postdoctoral fellowship in prostate cancer, looking at the role of antioxidants in the treatment of prostate cancer.

Dr. Ripoll matriculated to the Baylor College of Medicine to complete her residency in urology and a fellowship in urological oncology.
