Yellow Cab Northwest

Before I start my review, let me say something first. Most times in the past when I have read posts, I figured that the author was mad at the world and over-​exaggerating their experience. MY APOLOGIES FELLOW REVIEWERS! They are spot on about this company. Let me share my poor experience that happened this past weekend.
I was going to the Masquerade Ball at the State Capitol Saturday night and I wanted to take a taxi so me and my girlfriend could not only enjoy a night of dancing but to partake of the beer and wine bar so we could totally enjoy ourselves and not have to worry about driving back to our hotel. I asked the front desk to call us a cab for pick up and they chose Yellow Cab. The driver was a very nice and polite young lady. I told her that we wanted to go to the State Capitol building. She proceeded to inform us that she was new in the area (lived here for about a year) and put the destination into her smartphone. Well apparently, her smartphone was an idiot phone, because she proceeded to take us on a journey that took us along the side of I-​5, a quick jaunt towards US 101, down a dead end street into an apartment complex, a bar three blocks away and finally on the opposite side of the building where the entrance was at.
Now let me say this, after getting lost and almost dropping us off in the wrong place, you would think she would have adjusted the meter or taken a little off the final $ 17 fare to make up for the mistake. Not this cabbie. If you drove a cab and took your fares in the wrong direction, got yourself lost while the meter is still running and almost let them out in the wrong place a half mile from your destination and think that because I gave you $ 20 bill to cover the price of the fare that you deserved my $ 3 change as a tip, Lady you are really delusional.
Yellow Cab, this is totally sad. I called a different taxi company for my return trip and not only did he pick me up in the right area, he got me back to my hotel in 5 minutes and only travelled on one street. Your driver, while a very nice person, needs to get better acclimated to the tri-​city area you service.
I informed my hotel to never use you a first option for taxi service.

Worst cab service ever! Made a reservation the day ahead for a 6 person van. Reservation time came and went. 40 minutes late I called dispatch, I was told they had no vans available, and NO cars. My party of 6 people had $ 100 engagement, we ended up being over an hour late to. Wtf, why did you take the reservation? Ended up calling Dollar Cab, showed up in 15 minutes. I guess if you’re a big enough business, customer service doesn’t matter. Poop on you Yellow Cab.

I would have given them 5 stars if it weren’t for the last time I used them.
My fiancé uses Yellow Cab all the time to get him home from the airport and to the airport. We’ve had 1 problem with 1 driver but other than that we’ve always been happy with the friendly drivers and they always get him to the airport on time and they arrive to the house on time.
It was when I traveled to the airport alone I experienced a problem. I went to the airport in the morning. The driver was on time and she got me to the airport on time. When I went to pay her the flat rate of $ 80 (plus tip) that they charge all passengers to go the airport she told me it would be $ 139 (plus whatever I tipped). I told her we use them all the time and it’s always been $ 80 to the airport. She kinda fumbled with words and repeated it would be $ 139. I was taken by surprise and just wanted to get in so I could have time to check in and get to my gate so I just handed her my card.
I understand I should have called a manager or something but I didn’t.
I’ll never use them again and I gave 3 stars because despite this event that turned me away as a customer we’ve used them so much before that to discount all those good times wasn’t fair.
I just hope she doesn’t pull it again with any other customers. Traveling is expensive enough and an extra $ 50 isn’t usually expected.

Beyond pathetic. Operator was baffled that I had somewhere to be and expected an estimated wait time. 90 minutes is not acceptable and this business wouldn’t last a day in a real city. Canceled the ride, but driver still showed up and was rude when I no longer required his service.

Was using these cabs extensively this weekend but had a very negative experience the final morning that made us over an hour late for our panel. Dispatcher hung up when I asked her how long it would take our confirmed ride to arrive for our one hour trip. Called back after 30 minutes and she told me that we were second in line and both (!) cars assigned to the Capitol were out on trips that were taking them out of the city. «Another thirty minutes?» she seemed to ask me. No wayyyy!!! Dishonest practice from this company when put under a reasonable load. Their drivers should be angry at their dispatchers.

This is the second sunday in a row that i have had to use a cab. I called a hour before i had to be to work last week and it took them an hour and 20 minutes to show up. This week i did their online ride set up for 30 minutes before i had to work, never got a confirmation about the ride so i called them an hour before i had to be to work and they said i was all set the cab should be here soon. I called 30 minutes before i had to be there and was told they should be here soon. I called 5 minutes before i had to be at work and was told, give me a minute to find the driver. When the driver called me they were 20 miles from where i am and were lost. Now 2 weeks in a row i am late to work because of their not caring to do their job.

This cab driver is very rude and ignores traffic rules and red lights. Also speeds. He flips off other motorists for obeying the traffic laws.

Took Yellow Cab three times while in Olympia/​Lacey this weekend. Each time, I got drivers who were pleasant, professional, and affable. They each took the time to shake hands and introduce themselves. It’s little things like that, that make the trip enjoyable, even when they didn’t know how to get to where I wanted to go anymore than I did. Three great drivers on three different occasions. Highly recommended.

Dispatcher was professional. Cab was on time. Driver was polite and helpful. Would use and recommend to anybody next time.

Pretty damn shocked! I’m fairly surprised on how fast Yellow Cab arrives at your location. It usually takes me 30 – 45 minutes for a cab company to pick me up, Yellow does it in less than 10 – 15 minutes.
The customer service is awesome, too. I met this one driver who was prior Army (I’m prior AF), and he was a pretty cool and talkative person. I’m not very sociable when it comes to new people, but he just looked like a guy I can hold a conversation with.
The cars are cleaner than other local cab companies. They’re not as destroyed unlike other companies where they probably buy retired police cars and turn them into taxi cabs.
Overall, I’m going to continue with Yellow Cab when the need arises. I’m not a fan of using a taxi service, but now I feel more comfortable using Yellow when I have to.

I was driving in Bellevue and had the misfortune of driving behind a yellowcabnw cab ID 786 at 11am on July 2^nd, 2012. Seems like the driver I saw was pretty erratic. Weaving in and out of lanes without signalling, coming to a full stop with no cars ahead of them on a 40mph road (no s/​he wasn’t turning), and texting. I don’t know what the bar is for hiring cabbies here but I’d venture to guess safety isn’t on their list.
If you’d like an adrenaline rush in the suburb and don’t have the budget for skydiving this may be a cheap way to get the fix.
