iTAN Sun Spray Spa – La Mesa

Samantha signed me up a few years back. She is Amazing. Answered all my questions and gave me her full attention even though it was a busy day. I was sold on this place due to the cleanliness factor. It Sparkles here. Samantha assured me that the beds were Double Sanitized. I recently moved to Coronado and visited the Point Loma Location. All I will say is that there’s No place like Home. Because of Sam’s welcoming smile and the fact that I literally haven’t seen a bulb out (although they have signs to let them know so that they can fix it immediately) I will go out of my way to make a trip to La Mesa to use my FAVORITE I Tan. I hope they APPRECIATE you Sam !

As a first timer, I definitely had my doubts but Madi was incredibly sweet and walked me through the entire process. Even though I got a little confused at first about how to work the tanning bed, Madi had a lot of patience and made me feel welcomed during my visit. I highly recommend coming to this location, the service was excellent! I can’t wait to see how my skin glows tomorrow! Thanks again for the help Madi!

La Mesa I Tan employees have always been very polite and have always greeted me with a smile. The other locations need improvement in there customer service specially the ones in Pt Loma, Mission Valley and Hillcrest. Just because majority of there customer are Caucasians doesn’t mean that other races that walk thru there doors should be treated differently and not be given great customer service. I know i will never go to the stores that i have mention above. I hope with this review they will work on bring friendly to every customers that walk thru there doors.

One of the least enjoyable tanning experiences. For one, there’s a fee to start a membership, which I’ve never experienced. Secondly, they offer promotions via text. But both times I tried to use them, the girl made excuses why I COULDNT. Thirdly, the beds aren’t new and the goggles are really old and dirty.
I’ve been here twice now, the first time for a spray, the second time to tan. The first time, I spent $ 50 on a tan which is a little steep for something that comes off in a week and a half. And the entire time the girl tried to get me to upgrade this and that. All together the ideal scam the try to sell to you is $ 70 I believe. Possibly higher. The next time, I experienced the same girl. She told me I couldn’t tan longer than 7 minutes. I told her I’d never had a sunburn, I don’t have sensitive skin and if I turned pink it’d be MY FAULT. She still didn’t allow me. I left extremely upset and realized the high pitched «I work here» fake tone really set me off.
It’s not a dump, but I totally hate being told what I can’t do. I left still cold.

I just got a spray tan for my engagement pictures tomorrow. The girl at the front desk was so sweet I really regret not asking her her name! She was so informative but not pushy and took the time to go over everything with me and answer all my questions. Very friendly and seemed genuinely happy in life LOL which is not common nowadays. It was more expensive than I remember but hopefully it’s worth it. It sucks that I smell like the Tanner and cannot shower for a day but I’m sure I’ll be beautiful and tan and can shower tomorrow!

This place is awesome! The girls are really friendly and very helpful! I definitely will return :)

I have been here two times so far, both to use the Mystic Tanner. The staff have been nice, pleasant, and helpful. I didn’t have to wait at all, and the prices were decent. Mystic Monday is the way to go. Parking wasn’t bad even though there is construction going on. I will be back.

This is by far my favorite location of all! Every time I come in I’m always welcomed with warm smiles and a friendly upbeat environment. All the employees here have AMAZING customer service! I would like to give a shout out to Nicole and Samantha, they always say hello as soon as I open that door and they are so knowledgable answering all my questions without hesitation. I’m in love with this location. I will definitely be returning!

Amazing staff, always so friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere of this itan is like no other. At time the A/​C is a tad bit colder than normal, but I guess it makes sense with all those beds. I got the sun and spray iclub membership, which is great and really pays off. An added bonus, you get 30% off any products at the salon the day of sign up.
The best and what tops itan off is the fact that double clean their beds, rest assured I’m tanning in a clean bed and not in someone else’s sweat.
I also love how tan everyone looks there.

This Itan location is by far the best tanning salon I have ever been to. From the quality of the services to the outstanding employees these guys are one step ahead of the rest. All of the associates are amazing and I’ve never had an experience anything less than wonderful. I do have to give a specific thumbs up to Sam, she works her butt off to ensure the customers are quickly helped and the salon is clean and stocked, all with a warm smile on her face! The products and services are great, but its the people that have made me a loyal customer for years.

Not enough staff at this facility. Went there one day and only one girl was working. There was a line of people. The girl was definitely not trained on how to prioritize. When I became second in line she proceeded for 20 minutes explaining about there packages at the front desk and then the customer just stood there looking at the differences in silence for 5 minutes as the girl (employee) waited for a response instead of just running my name and putting me in a room first. One girl she sent back to a room…15 minutes later she comes out of the room to the front and said, the device was never turned on. I didn’t want that to happen to me so I asked before I went into the room, «did you turn it on?» and she replied, «yes.» Well I got in there all undressed and had to redress to ask her to turn it on. She had way to many things going on. Is iTan afraid of losing $ paying minimum wage to their employees when their getting around 100 bucks a pop??? What happened to good customer service? If they are afraid they are going to lose $ on employees, they better think twice because what they really will be losing $ on is their repeat customers as well as referrals.
On the positive side, on the first day I came in I initially spoke with Samantha. She was wonderful. She didn’t try to push a sales bit on me, but explained all the information in detail and answered all my questions very thoroughly. She was very patient with all my questions and while I picked out the package I desired. Most girls that work at tanning places are like «Valley Girls,» very annoying and fake. Samantha has high energy, but is very genuine. Even when she said she was excited for me once I picked a package, I truly believed her. She is very knowledgeable about the products and equipment and can answer any questions without hesitation. A successful hire for the company!

I really like this iTan location! It’s really convenient to get to! Everyone who works here is super friendly and knows a lot about skin care! I took some time off from tanning and they helped me get back into my routine. I haven’t burnt and i am starting to see color come back! Best itan in SD!

Samantha is so awesome. I’ve never had a bad experience at this location. She is professional and takes care of me every time.

I love this location it so close to my work and where I love. The girls who work here are really helpful and answer all your questions. Sam and Alex are the girls who are working whenever I go in and they are AMAZING! they are very sweet and genuine. As a first time tanner I can say I am hooked!!!

I tan was very disappointing. I called ahead 4 days in advance, asked questions, and told them who and why we wanted a spray tan. I was wanting to get one for my daughter. They heard me say this. They then proceeded to tell me how their mystic tan would last longer than an airbrushed tan and wouldn’t rub off as easily. We spoke for at least 15 minutes.
We went in to get my daughter a tan. They refused us after telling them she was 13 because we didn’t have Identification. We went home, came back with ID and then, and only then did the tell me they don’t serve people under 14. So I called ahead. Then went in… and was sent away, then came back with what they requested and still was sent away. They obviously don’t want our business. I certainly will not go back.
We did go to Hollywood tan where they gladly did business with us and only needed my identification to tan my daughter.

The girls here are incredible helpful and knowledgable!!! Great place to go for a little extra golden glow!!’ It’s a supper clean location and they don’t get too busy!!!
I like using their smart bed, it calculates the perfect tone!!! They have mystic Mondays which is also pretty cool!

The service and happy attitude of the staff sets this place apart.
The staff is always friendly, the place is spotless and the equipment is new. I know that I can easily get in for a quick tan or a spray tan. I have tried most of the other services like the body wrap and teeth whitening when I wanted a little pampering.

yAy I haz color again! So I bed tanned for 10 years… GET OVER IT and about 4 months ago stopped all together to take care of my tattoos (criminal). I had a frightening experience in the gym a few days ago, its called ‘the mirror’. HOT DAMN I was white. This needed to change instantly so I Unilocaled tanning near my house and came across this gem. The counter girl is the nicest, most knowledgable chick i’ve ever come across in a tanning spot, she could have sold me a take home tanning bed and I woulda bought 14. Seriously, she could have pushed a mountain of heroin my direction, noted that it helps with weight loss and I woulda been a junkie in 6 hours. Sorry… ya SHES GOOD.
I opted for the monthly unlimited SPRAY tans although I may switch back to beds and use their special tattoo protectors. we shall see. I went for my second spray tan ever last night and look AMAZE today (duh have you met me? i keeeeeeeeeeeed). I do have some minimal issues… like one hand is slightly darker than the other and that webbing in between my thumb and fingers is white BUT im still learning these little things and thanks to the awesome staff im sure they’ll fix me right up.
