Dr. Howard Feffer, DDS is honest and professional. He stands behind the work he and his staff provides. I had my teeth pulled and dental plates made at a very reasonable cost. The office and professional staff members are friendly, caring, and very helpful. Dr. Charles Refkin, DDS does excellent work in making sure your new dental plate fits perfectly.
Perfect fit, I don’t even have to use a fixative! My teeth look natural and I have a great smile now.
They have a five-​year warranty on their dentures and take care of emergency repairs promptly. I’m glad I went with them. They definitely deserve five stars.

I travel all the way from Oceanside just to come here! Best place! They are very gentle during cleanings and they don’t try to upsell on unnecessary procedures. I am very happy with them. They also have excellent customer service and an extremely friendly staff.

Avoiding the dentist for over 10 years, I dreaded seeing one again. This took an abrupt change when I visited Dr. F. and his wonderful staff. Dr. F. gave me a complete plan for my horrible smile and I was out the door within an hour. Six months later I have a smile to be proud of. Dr. Refkin and his wife Becky have been wonderful as has Lara. All in all, I would highly recommend them.

I could not be more delighted or pleased with my experience at this office. Recently I received 2 dental implants by Dr. Charles Refkin, DDS. and have had several cleanings over the last year and a half. The office staff and dental assistants are extremely friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable and professional. The office is clean and inviting. The service and prices are outstanding and I will recommend this dental office to my friends and family without hesitation.

Heard about Dr. Feffer through commercials on TV and it sounded like an affordable place to get dentures WRONG. That is only if you’ve had dentures before and want them replaced I was told, not if you are a new patient. The estimate was incredible (15,000) with no dental insurance and my significant other lives on a fixed income. They don’t even take payments on this. What hurts about all of this is he needs this work done in order to save his life. He has heart failure and all the decay would be detrimental if it reached his heart.
So what baffled me was that Dr Feffer had this whole complex dental treatment involved with a partial denture on the bottom and root canal and caps and all this fancy stuff added up would have been more costly instead of pulling them all and just putting a full denture at the bottom. I even asked Dr. Feffer wouldn’t it be cheaper to just put in a denture instead of all that stuff and he said «Good question and the answer is no.» When I looked at the estimate he obviously lied about that because I added everything up and what it would have cost the other route.
So we had to get another estimate and that estimate for dentures was 1,300 and pulling his 23 (hard to extract teeth) would be 4,600 additional. Much better in price, but we are still unable to afford it now. Dr. Feffer’s assistants were exceptionally friendly and the place was gorgeous and so nicely decorated and upscale. Now I know where a lot of that money goes to.

Dr. Feffer and his office are truly great. From Carolyn at the front, to his awesome & fun assistant Valerie, the process is as comfortable and professional as going to the dentist can be. They are always on-​time and they work very efficiently. I like the open operatory concept where you can hear him next door with another patient as you wait for your novacaine to kick in. Once he’s back with you he’s professional, funny, quick and painless. I’ve had two gold crowns and several fillings replaced — with no return visits in between to adjust my bite. I don’t have dental insurance but their prices are reasonable (not like in La Jolla, where I live) & they offer Care Credit with 12 months no-​interest. Works for me! I’m happy to have found my new local dentist after many years of wandering and being unhappy. Don’t be skeptical of the 5 stars — it’s really just about as good as it gets for going to the dentist — you know what I mean — you can’t blame the dentist for your fears, the prices or your tolerance for pain.

I HATE going to the dentist, but then who LIKE it? I am one of those people who get all worked up and then pass out. Well I just got a crown, (I know uuugghh right?) it was my first and I was very nervous. Dr Feffer did a great job and I didn’t pass out. BIG BONUS!
The staff is friendly and very nice. I highly recommend Dr. Feffer and his team. I’m going back and I am making appointments for my kids too.

Lara Salerno at Dr. Howards office is AMAZING! She is by far my favorite hygienist I have ever had. Not only is she a pleasure to talk to, she is super friendly as well. She is so gentle that a trip to have my teeth cleaned is a something I look forward to! She is awesome. Dr. Feffer is very professional and honest as well. My son goes to Lara as well and he loves it. I highly recommend Dr. Feffer and his team.

I normally dread the dentist but this place is great. The whole staff made me feel super comfortable and I left feeling so releived.

Dr. Feffer’s office is awesome!!! I didn’t go to him directly but here is what our situation was. My mom had denture’s that were 41 years old OMG… She needed them replaced like 20 years ago and never had the money. The denture’s actually had cavities in them and 1 of the tooth’s were missing. My mom doesn’t have much money and no dental insurance. So, my sweet brother paid for new denture’s for her. He could have never done this if the costs was high. Thank you so much Dr. Feffer for keeping the costs affordable. I’m recommending Dr. Feffer to everyone I know.
Since I have been getting emails asking how much my brother paid your not going to believe this but he only charged $ 500.00 again we can’t be more thankful for having a dentist that cares.

I was suffering from some serious pain and they were able to see me within a day or two. It was a very short stay in the waiting room and the very friendly staff made me feel at ease right away. The place is relaxing and the vibe is inviting. As it was mentioned before, you can tell the people there really enjoy working there. Now, I am a big whimp when it comes to any dental procedures, even Xrays, but they were very supportive and made me feel comfortable. I was sold on the place just by experiencing the support staff but after spending just a few minutes with dr Feffer I knew I had found my new permanent dentist. I don’t know why I ever bothered with anyone else and if you have ever dealt with Western Dental then you will appreciate this place even more.

I love Dr. Feffer and his wonderful staff! Their office is very nice, the receptionists and dental assistants are all wonderful! I had a root canal, crown and a couple of cavaties filled and even though I had pain afterward they made me feel very relaxed and comfortable! I have been there 3 times and I am telling all my family and friends to switch to Dr. Feffer!

After yrs of no insurance & a fear of dentists, the worst of worst happens. Not only do I’ve horrible gum issues but lost a tooth. Ok, not the 1^st person in the world 4 this 2 happen 2 but my bro is getting married & I wrk in an ofc. I’ve got 2 do something & quick. Did I mention it was a front tooth?
After research on the net about insurance & options, I e-​mailed a cpl dentists w/​a? or 2. Only 1 replied & his answer was just 1 sentence but luckily I’d found a dentist on-​line that I wtd 2 give a shot.
The 1^st call. The phn was answered quickly — I explained my situation & lack of insurance. All my? s were answered w/​patience & competence. I was offered a free consultation 4 the next day. Un4tunately, unable 2 take that appt but she found me 1 that fit in2 my schedule 4 the day after.
The day b4 my appt, the ofc called 2 confirm the time. They also let me know that they set aside an hr 4 me. An HR! 4 a FREE consult. R you serious?!
1^st visit. was greeted as I walked in & was given some pprwk. The pprwk was comprehensive but not so long you wtd 2 scream. The rcptn area has a variety of mags (mostly up-​2-​date), decent relaxing music that isn’t muzak & comfortable chairs. After a minor wait, under 10 mins. I’m called in by Chris. She’s awesome. She immediately put me @ ease w/​her friendly smile & manner.
She took me over 2 an area where she took a full scan of my head — I’m sure it was just my mouth area. It was cool & only took mins. All digital. Then she took me cubical area where she took all the normal x-​rays. This place is full of the bangs & whistles, is very clean & evry1 is just so nice. The banter btwn the ofc staff was fun but not so much that they were screwing around. You could tell they enjoyed working there & w/​ea other.
Chris was pleasant the entire time. She’s very calming & just plain sweet. The entire time she tells me about the ofc & how they operate about Dr. Feffer & basically puts me @ ease about the whole exp. She also explains that Dr. Feffer is not going 2 try 2 gouge me on all the extra services. Which is gr8 bcuz remember I’ve no insurance & am just plain broke.
After the x-​rays & making sure she had them all. She went 2 go talk 2 the Dr. Dr. Feffer is not some young whipper snapper nor is he some feeble old foggie but he’s older & defiantly pleasant. He checked my teeth, asked? s, listened & explained my options. No, he didn’t tell me I needed this or that. He didn’t lecture me on how I need 2 take better care of my teeth. He got 2 the point, answered my? s & just made feel like I’d finally found a dentist I wouldn’t mind coming 2 see.
After deciding that the best option @ this point w/​$ & time (remember bro is getting married in under 2 wks) I sat dwn w/​Cheryl @ the front desk. She gave me a copy costs & explained pymt optns. She was able 2 get an appt 4 the nxt morning 4 an impression so I could get my partial in time 4 the wedding.
2^nd appt. Cheryl greets me @ the front, tells me I don’t need 2 sign in & it will be just a cpl mins. After making chit-​chat w/​some dude in the lobby area I’m called in. Again, I wait under 10 mins.
The tech Avie?, takes me in2 a room & although a lil hurried (which I actually appreciate, I’ve 2 go 2 wrk) explains that she’s going 2 make an impression of my teeth 4 the partial. Lets me know that ea 1 will take a cpl of mins but this will be over quickly. She even asks if I gag. I let her know that I think I do. After mixing some compound & filling the impression trays she tells me 2 relax & open wide. She’s awesome. She talked me through my lil anxiety attack. Calmly telling me 2 breath through my nose etc. Now 4 the top 1. I just know I’m going 2 have a panic attack on this 1. But she puts me @ ease. Her attitude rocks — she tells me lil antidotes about prev experiences, basically letting me know I’m not the only 1. Now 4 the best part, she swabs the roof of my mouth w/​a topical numbing so I won’t gag so much. Of course I do a lil but she just talks me through it. Whole process under 15 mins. Back 2 Cheryl I go. 1^st we make an appt 4 me 2 p/​u my partial. She was able once again 2 accommodate my schedule & she only needed partial pymt. I’d pay the balance upon p/​u.
3^rd Appt. I’m running late. Hectic day @ wrk & trouble getting out the door 2 make my appt. Get there just in time, sign in & ask 4 the key 2 the bthrm 2 brush my teeth. By the time I get back, I’m taken right in. The tech that made my impression is there 2 put in my partial. She lets me get com4table as she slips on a pair of gloves, pops in the piece & its PERFECT. No adjustment needed. Dr. Refkin (the denture guy) pops in & has a look & give the thumbs up too. In & out in less than 15 mins.
Did I mention that this only cost me $ 395. Western Dental wtd $ 1100, another dentist wtd $ 800 & it would take a week be4e he could see me & another 2 weeks 2 get the partial. 1 dentist wtd $ 50 just 4 the consult.
