History
Established in 1971.
For over thirty years, one of San Diego’s more familiar sights has been the long line of locals and visitors awaiting their traditional Mexican «fix» at Casa de Pico restaurant in Old Town San Diego State Historic Park.
Home of the renowned «birdbath margarita,» and strolling mariachis, Çasa de Pico was deemed one of the city’s most beloved dining hubs.
In June, 2005, the restaurant, along with Bazaar del Mundo, lost its lease for the property in the Old Town State Historic Park and reopened in its new location in La Mesa at Grossmont Center bringing with it the same romance of Old Mexico and familiar cuisine.
Çasa de Pico has won numerous awards. General Manager Lino Rodarte and owner Diane Powers oversee the operations and Aida Elbers oversees its bustling kitchen, where piquant sauces are made from scratch and traditional dishes are prepared fresh daily.
