I began in property management in 1982 with my broker grandparents in San Francisco. I was a marketing and transaction coordinator for my broker parents in the 1990’s and began my own brand of service in 1999.

I’m proud to say that over 80% of my clients, including my very first, stay in touch with me and I them.

One the biggest rewards for me is when I’m sitting at the dinner table of one of my clients, toasting their new house that not 30 days ago was just an offer on the table. I really enjoy my career and the people I serve!

I rarely write reviews on Unilocal but Thomas absolutely deserves to get a mention and fully earned all 5 stars that we are giving him. He is an absolute professional and for my wife and I, who were first time home buyers, he was there for us every step of the way through our home buying process. As we are transplants to San Diego, Thomas spent a lot of time and effort narrowing down neighborhoods with us. We looked at over 40 houses with Thomas and he remained extremely patient with us, and never became pushy. I really believe that he truly wants what is best for his clients and to see their dreams come true. Having had extensive experience in all aspects of home ownership and renovation, Thomas really knows houses inside out and knows quality and where corners have been cut. He will give you honest assessments of properties that he shows you.
When he says that he doesn’t disappear after closing he absolutely means it. He is always there for us to answer any questions or help us find the assistance we need. My wife and I thoroughly recommend Thomas as a realtor, our experience with him could not have been any better!

Thomas helped us sell the house he helped us buy just two years ago. With his help, we were able to get five offers in less than five days of being on the market. I have been very impressed with Thomas’ knowledge, professionalism, and responsiveness. He knows the market well and provided valuable insight into things I would not have thought about. More important then his knowledge to me, is the fact that I can telly he truly cares about his clients and is not there just to cash a commission check and leave.
He says that you can contact him for anything and he means it. Whether it is for a handyman, a plumber, a mortgage broker, an attorney, or finding a date (well that might be a stretch but who knows). Every time I need a good referral when something needs repair on my house I think of Thomas.

Can I give a million stars? Thomas is an amazing realtor!
We are a military couple and Thomas helped us buy our first home together in 2010. Not knowing a thing about buying a house, it was the easiest thing we have ever done because of Thomas. Now over 1000 miles away he helped us sell that house. Again, very easy and VERY fast!
He is very experienced and knowledgeable as a realtor. He helped comprehend things we did not understand. He was in touch with us several times everyday, we never felt out of the loop. He is also very determined. He got us the BEST deal in both situations.
We are so sad to no longer be in the California/​San Diego area because we would use Thomas again and again! The best we can do is pass him on to others! You won’t regret it!

Thomas Nelson is hands down the best realtor I have ever worked with. I have been purchasing and selling homes for 15 years, and no realtor has even come close to the level of quality and commitment he provides. Long after the transaction is complete, Thomas is available to assist you with referrals or challenges you may face with your home. I was having a difficult time with my home warranty program and I mentioned it to Thomas. He immediately called them and had a customer service rep contact me. Within 24 hours I weas offered a $ 100 credit for a repair they had previously denied, and gladly assisted me with a second claim that they were unsuccessful in helping me with previously. Here is a copy of the email I sent him today:
Hi Thomas
I wanted to thank you for the referral on Tom Hamman, the handyman. He is a very honest and great guy. He came out and took care of quite a few things. I will continue to use him in the future.
Also, your call to AHS has turned things around. Chantal has been a helpful contact and they are much more cooperative in addressing things.

Thomas is by far the best in the business! On a scale from 1 to 10, Thomas is a 12. He is professional, extremely dedicated and knowledgeable. He works hard for his clients and really gets the job done right. I am very thankful for all his hard work in helping me sell my home and meet my deadline. I have worked with other Realtors in the past and Thomas stands out above the rest because he does not waste any time. He does not stop working until the job is done. Within 2 days of contacting him, he already had my property listed on the market for sale. In fact, there were already potential buyers lining up. He kept me informed every step of the way. During this process, we encountered several issues. Thomas was able to tackle every issue and resolve it successfully. I don’t believe that anyone could have been able to sell my property as quickly and successfully as Thomas. I will definitely be using Thomas as my Realtor in the future and I highly recommend him to anyone who needs to buy or sell a home.

Thomas is an excellent realtor and reliable professional. When it comes to making one of the biggest (and most expensive) decisions in life, such as purchasing a home, he’s definitely the person whom you can depend on. Thomas J. Nelson is an amazing person and amazing realtor. He is easy to work with, did an excellent job of having my back, but still can handle the unique social situations that came up with the multiple other people involved in the house-​buying process (lenders, boyfriends, family members — you know, drama!). Because I knew I could trust him and count on him, I only had to worry about the details of the facts and transaction itself — I never worried about him or his team of referrals (inspection person, loan officer, etc.) that I worked with. If you need a real estate agent, he’s the one to work with!

We have had the fortunate opportunity to have Thomas sell our house in San Diego.
My husband’s father became unable to take care of himself so we had to move to the central valley to assist with his care.
The stress of having to decide to sell as a short sale was immense however Thomas was patient and explained the process very throughly. He worked hard to move our home through the vicious hurdels set up by the banking system. He is diligent and very detailed in exchanging communications with us even though we are 300 miles away. What a God send.

We actually move many of his clients and ever single one we come into contact with mentions his unbelievable professionalism and dedication to every one of their needs.
