I was contacted by a rep and worked with rh to get hired on. Laura was quick about getting me the interview, a few things that irked me was that she did not retain my resume and I had to give her information I already submitted to her. They completely botched the contacting of my references as they seemed to only contact 1 and I got an email that my reference doesn’t know me. Once I thought we had everything squared away I got a call from my recruiter wanting a reference from me about me? Apparently she mixed up the phone numbers. Highly unprofessional!
They were fast folks, but the way they went about contacting references left a lot to be desired.

Molly is the best, what more can I say? She got me out of my old job that I highly disliked, into a new job that I love, all within a two week period. She was very responsive to any inquiries I had while under RHT promptly and always made sure to follow up with me to make sure everything was taken care off. Thanks Molly.

After relocating to San Diego, I had a hard time finding placement due to my previous experience with Linux in a web hosting environment. I had little Windows Server experience, and every IT Manager that interviewed me wanted more Windows and enterprise environment experience. I was looking for months to no avail. I worked with many recruiters over this time and most sent me to interviews for positions I wasn’t fully qualified for, and it was a large waste of resources and time. When Molly Benjamin from Robert Half Technologies contacted me, it was like a breath of fresh air. She was prompt, professional, and located 2 solid datacenter/​NOC positions in the San Diego area that I was not only qualified for, but was actually offered upon interviewing. I was genuinely interested in working for these very two fortune 500 companies she introduced me to. In your job search, you’ll be contacted by many recruiters but out of all of them I found Molly and Robert Half to be the best. She made sure Lance followed up with me the day she had to leave the office early. I was never left sitting around waiting for her to contact me. Overall it was a great experience and I definitely would be interested in working with Molly again in the future.

Molly was amazing while I was looking for temporary work. Nobody in this world can guarantee you anything, but Molly did her absolute best to help me find suitable positions. When some didn’t sound right for me she was okay with it and contacted me when something else fit my profile. If your world is in IT and you’re looking for contract or permanent work I would try Robert Half above all similar companies. I went to about a dozen or so and Robert Half’s Molly was the only person that continuously worked for me.

Unlike so many others, I’d say my experience with RHT has been less than satisfactory. I understand that they can only present positions that they have-​however, during the «pre-​screening» I had, they indicated they had several positions. They sent me ONE listing, and I wasn’t a fit for it (the specific experience the employer wanted was to advanced for what I knew).
I found a couple other postings on their own search board, forwarded the postings to the recruiter, and only had one response-​the client wasn’t interested.
Right now, my impression is that RHT is acting like a giant resume database and the recruiters are just «grinding» applications in a semi-​shotgun approach. I have to constantly email them to get any sort of response-I’m not happy.
A true recruiter would be, at least in my opinion, updating me regularly. It’s frustrating looking for a new job, and any encouragement-​even something as simple as «we haven’t heard back from the client» helps ease the stress.

So this is an update to my previous review. So I thought I would be working with ATT but was told they were still awaiting funding of their contract and couldn’t give us a start date. It was pretty disappointing so I asked Molly Benjamin to continue looking for jobs. I usually work as a network admin but didn’t mind «stepping down» to a help desk type of position or even a short 3 month contract just to get me back to making money in my field.
Well she got me set up to start working very quickly, in fact I got a call late at night telling me if I was available to start work the next morning. Amazingly enough the job pays pretty good for the type of work I’m doing and it’s fairly close by as well. The whole process has been smooth and I look forward to working with her again in the future. Highly recommend!

This is my first foray into staffing with RHT. So far, I am loving it! My recruiter, Molly Benjamin has been nothing but pleasant, on top of every opportunity for me, and constantly updating me on my opportunities. I start my first assignment on Monday, and am looking forward to working for a great company I never would have found on my own.

«Buyer beware!»
RHT has two divisions, one that deals with permanent placing while the other one deals with consulting/​temp placement. Although I have not been able to get a job thru RHT, their permanent placing side is a pleasure to work with. They keep you up to date on everything from the start of an interview all the way to the actual decision.
However the consulting temp placement arm of the company is a different story.
Case in point. I used RHT to land me an opportunity with one of their clients who by all accounts was very interested in me. The whole interview process went so well that I was able to convince their client to hire me directly and just pay RHT a placing fee for their troubles. What happened next was not something I was prepared for.
My recruiter ended up convincing their client to not hire me directly and just bring me on board as a Temp-​to-​Hire employee for 6 months. They then proceeded to negotiate my salary (downward) from my asking rate to $ 10 an hour less. And then to cap things off, promised me that everything was good and that the job was mine for a whole week only to call me at the end of the week (Friday before I report to work the following week) that the job was off the table. Apparently someone in their firm jumped the gun when in fact there was never really an offer letter to begin with.
I ended up losing the opportunity and unemployed after my previous company closed shop and went belly up.
But I don’t blame RHT as a whole, just my recruiter in particular for not handling my opportunity well.

RHT makes it easier for anyone in the IT Field to look for contract work.
Pros:
— Does a lot of the foot work for both employers and potential employees in the hiring process.
— Very professional and present you to future employers acting as a third party member to verify that you are able to do the contract work.
— They will work with you and even assist you with your resume.
Cons:
— They can only present you with work that is offered to them.
— Most contracts require you to have prior professional experience with another company.

Michelle Barte was extremely helpful with my resume. Sadly I wasn’t as marketable for RHT with the current available contracts. I would fall under the category of entry level for the IT field due to only having personal experience at the time.
If you’re looking for work and have prior professional experience, I would recommend RHT and Michelle Barte to anyone however, if you’re resume can only provide personal experience still contact them anyways, they may have an available contract if your lucky.

Working for RHT has been a great experience so far. This is my first contract, and while I have never really wanted to work as such; I can say that my experience with Michelle Barte and her team has been a very successful one. As a candidate, my experience with Robert Half Technology (specifically lead recruiter Christopher Hutchman, William O’Donovan, and other members of the team as well) has been nothing short of exceptional. Every communication I have ever had with this company has been first rate from start to finish and they have never failed to treat me with the utmost respect and care. Since moving to San Diego approximately a year ago, I have met with a number of recruiting professionals, and have been extremely fortunate to have been successfully placed with a number of high profile government and corporate clients in the greater San Diego area and beyond thanks to Robert Half Technology’s sensational La Jolla, CA branch.
While I had already possessed a marketable background and exceptional references when they initially called me, my technical experience pertaining to IT specifically had been limited in the sense that I hadn’t had many jobs in IT. Although I could do the level 1 desk stuff literally in my sleep, I had barely proven it on paper, with only about eight months as a Help Desk Technician at my community college in Las Vegas, NV under my belt (the rest of my jobs were extremely technical but non-​IT so worthless to most potential clients). With little more than an A+ certification and a resume on Dice, it didn’t take long before a member of the team (Kevin Tan) reached out to me via phone and email simultaneously. We began corresponding regularly over the next couple days and he had me come in and meet him so that I could take a battery of basic tests, which I performed quite well on.
My first contract was a relatively straightforward refresh project for the California Highway Patrol. It only lasted two days, but in my opinion it was enough to get me in the door and prove that I had the chops. The project manager on that subsequently recommended me and I was asked to continue traveling to other CHP departments to continue working (which I had declined even though RHT offered to reimburse me on mileage, a fair deal). Shortly thereafter, I got another phone call from RHT inquiring whether I had any experience with Office 365. Getting to work with experimental new technologies and cloud based stuff was/​is a dream come true for an aspiring young geek like me, and a couple weeks later I was working for the San Diego airport on a large migration project.
The rest is history. As a result of my experience with Robert Half Tech in La Jolla, I now get phone calls from recruiters left and right. My resume is pretty solid now, and I owe this company a debt of gratitude that can never truly be repaid. I moved to San Diego with nothing but an ultrabook and a couple pairs of Dockers, and struggled just to get gas money for interviews. It wasn’t easy. I am 24 years old. While I am not afraid to stress that my resume was already impressive, I moved to San Diego with nothing more than a dream and this company took a chance on me initially. I’d like to think it paid off for both of us.
Conclusion: When every other recruiter and staffing agency in town had me coming in for multiple interviews before they even shopped me out to a client, editing my resume without my permission, and making me wait weeks to get a call back… Robert Half Technology in La Jolla, CA put me to work. From the moment they found me on Dice I have never been unemployed for more than a couple weeks unless it was by choice. Christopher Hutchman and William O’Donovan especially understand the importance of creating a positive candidate experience, which I can’t say is true for other companies.
I can only imagine the experience on the other side of the table (clients) has been equally extraordinary, or else they would not be calling me with offers for interviews almost every week. These guys work with some cool companies too. And even when things in my personal life had gone awry and I am unable to answer the phone consistently, I could always count on Mr. Hutchman to leave me a voicemail and follow up with me consistently. As he has said to me many times, RHT is only as good as their candidates. And as I have told him, they need to rename this company Christopher Hutchman Technology. I have not met Mr. Robert Half personally, although I am sure he is a talented and competent individual based on my experiences with the members of his organization that I have had the pleasure of working with.
Candidates: Meet with other recruiters, I have had the pleasure of meeting many exceptional individuals in this field and the reality is that only a small percentage of clients they meet will ultimately get placed. That’s the business. But if you can only pick one… RHT for life.

After not having an interview in some time, I reached out to Robert Half Technology and after only a few weeks I have already had three. They also setup a work assignment for me on a special project with a great company.
