ODO Eye Care Optometry

Like any other millennial, I perused Unilocal to find an optometrist in my area with stellar reviews. (I later realized it also might be helpful to find a practice that was in my VSP network as well) After opening 34 728 tabs and scanning the hundreds of Unilocal reviews, I landed on ODO Eye Care Optometry.
Dr. Do and Jacquelynn were very welcoming and professional as soon as I walked through the door. After signing a few laminated forms (green points for ODO), Dr. Do was ready to see me.
Dr. Do swept me to the back and administered the full eye health shebang. She was extremely personable and the exam was easy breezy but still thorough. She made me feel comfortable and educated me on not only what she was doing but also why she was doing it and the benefits of each part of the exam. While she did notice the popped blood vessel in my eye and took the extra time to get a good look at what was going on, she definitely didn’t fear-​monger what it was and reassured me it would go down in a few weeks.
After all was said and done, I was very pleased with my experience at ODO Eye Care Optometry and will continue to see Dr. Do from now on. The price for an eye exam was very reasonable and both, Dr. Do and Jacquelynn, were extremely accommodating. Thanks to all the Unilocalers who recommended Dr. Do, I owe you one!

Great staff! They are extremely professional. I went for a routine eye exam, and to get glasses for computer screens. The appointment went nice and quick, and the office is great! I definitely recommend them!

I recently moved to the La Jolla area and needed a new Optometrist. Unable to wear contacts for about 18 years well, and trouble properly fitting my progressive tri-​focal glasses. Always a hassle getting glasses that fit and to see well since entering the world of tri-​focals. Not the case at ODO Eye Care. Dr. ODO was exceptional, taking time to evaluate my eye prescription. Taking the time, and with professional care, to get me back into contacts. In a short while, I had new frames/​lenses and contacts that are completely comfortable. Frames are light, attractive, plus Jackie the Optician is there to adjust them perfectly. Today I had a session learning how to clean my new lenses.

I recently went shopping for sunglasses and stopped by ODO Eye Care to see what they offered. The location is really nice because there is plenty of parking on the side of the building, which is really hard to find in La Jolla. As soon as I walked into the store, I was greeted by the staff who were friendly and really attentive. The first thing I noticed was how clean and organized the store is and the variety of frames they have. The optician Jacque at the front desk was very helpful when I was trying to find frames. I have what you could call a unique shaped face (By unique I mean big. Lol) so finding frames that fit and look good is really hard. Jacque really spent a lot of time with me and gave me a lot of good info about what frames work for me. Dr. Do was also very professional and friendly and made me feel taken care of. I honestly can’t stand going to the doctor for any reason, but Dr. Do and her staff really took care of me and the whole experience was really great. I would highly recommend ODO Eye Care for anyone who is looking for a quality optometry office in La Jolla.

I live in the Bay Area, but was in town, so I decided to check out this new office for my yearly eye exam. All I can say is that the eye exam I received here was one of the most thorough I have ever received. **The short version: Dr. Do is thorough, takes the time to explain everything, staff is friendly, and they carry brands worthy of spending your dollars on.**
Dr. Do dilated my eyes, carefully inspected them, and saw something that she wanted to get a second opinion on. My previous optometrists have never noticed anything unusual in my eyes, so this might be a new development or possibly something that other doctors hadn’t caught. Either way, I’m glad she caught it. According to Dr. Do, this was something very far out into the eye and could’ve been missed if one hadn’t looked hard enough – that’s just how thorough she was. I was referred to an ophthalmologist, and thankfully I have nothing to worry about, but I’m glad Dr. Do was concerned enough that she recommended I get a second opinion.
Oh, and if you’re like me and hate the puffer test, you’re in luck – no puffer test here. Instead, the doc will do it manually.
The office itself is very nice and modern. There’s a great selection of frames. What’s good is that the brands aren’t your typical big name brands. Sure there were some Tom Fords (isn’t it all the rage now?), but there were also brands I’ve never heard of. I asked about these and they explained that they like to carry brands that offer higher quality materials, and even some made by hand! I was appalled to learn that paying a premium for those bigger brands didn’t mean you’d be getting quality materials… so I was happy to support a lesser known brand.
Overall this was a very pleasant experience. I left the office having learned so much about the eyes and glasses. Adding that to my very thorough exam, and the patience and helpfulness exhibited by the doctor and staff, I will definitely be coming back.

My wife and her family are from San Diego. We were looking for a new office to take them for their eye care needs and I must say we are NOT disappointed!
Dr. Do was amazing with them and she made us all feel very comfortable. The office has a large selection of frames and we were able to get everything we wanted.
The staff was very accommodating and had us in and out in a timely manner.

I had a great experience at ODO Eye Care. Dr. Do is very professional and knowledgeable. The exam was very thorough. She has a huge selection of great frames and sunglasses.
