Jersey Mike’s Subs

I would have given them a 4 or 5 as usual but the place is dirty! Dirty floor, all tables dirty, dirty restroom so Im afraid of what the kitchen looks like at this time! Brian seemed okay but the young lady stood around talking most the time! The Sub was hot and tasty! I just hope it was CLEAN FOOD

We got the #9 Club Supreme, Mike’s Way plus Jalapeños. Might have been the best Sub I have ever had. The two brothers from Jersey were also very funny.

Best run Jersey Mikes. The brothers that own and run the business are fantastic. They know their customers by name, super professional and always in a good mood.

I love Jersey Mike’s don’t get me wrong. Just this location is terrible. I walked in one person in line two people behind the counter I stand there and stand there while both employees focus on the one customer. I stand there for about 10 mins until the female employee says «Know what you want» uhh yes I’ve been waiting here for you to notice. They make the sandwich but they do so in a rude complacent way. Also all the tables outside wobble. No!

I’ve heard a lot of good things about this submarine sandwich chain (close to 200 locations just in California), but this was actually my 1^st visit to an actual Jersey Mike’s physical location.
Parking: There’s a free 20 minutes parking in the Sunset garage that’s right next to the Jersey Mike’s.
Unlike most of Subway I’ve visited, there are two HDTVs and I think that’s a pretty impressive feat for a submarine sandwich chain. All cheese and deli-​meat are freshly sliced. When you order any cold subs, the staff will ask you whether you would like to make it «Mike’s Way» (onions, lettuce, tomatoes, red wine vinegar, olive oil blend, and spices).

#6 Famous Roast Beer and Provolone (Famous Roast Beef and Provolone Cooked on premises using Certified Angus USDA choice top rounds — mini $ 5.95): For a sandwich chain, I was pretty impressed. I could taste the freshness of ingredients and that’s really all you need for a simple and satisfying deli sandwich.

Overall, Jersey Mike’s have way better submarine sandwiches than Subway. These sandwiches aren’t the cheapest, but you do get what you pay for.

Freshly baked bread, quality ingredients, and the friendliest staff in La Jolla make this a great stop for a quick bite to eat. Even when they are busy during the lunch rush, the staff is always very patient and polite. The subs are great too!

Service was good, quick and friendly. The problem is that Jersey Mike’s is a pretty average sub place and it’s no super cheap either. In a nutshell it’s pretty bland but it’ll do the job.

This is a great spot for a quick bite to eat in the center of La Jolla Village. You can eat inside, out on their patio, or take it with you back to your office, or down by the water.
When I first received my free sub card for giving blood at a local event, I was hesitant to go there, because of a bad experience I had with the bread at a Jersey Mike’s in Maryland… But one day, with no lunch money, I decided to take a chance, and use this coupon I had.
Turns out I absolutely LOVE the California Club, «Mike’s Way»! It’s a delicious turkey/​bacon/​avocado sub on the most wonderful sandwich bread this side of Jersey. Being from the East Coast, I also love knowing I can grab a little taste of home with their selection of TastyKakes… :)
They also have a club card program where you can earn discounts and free items for your loyalty. The customer service there is consistently friendly and efficient, and the place is always clean and welcoming, and the twins seem to remember all of the locals who frequent this joint, including what their favorite order is!

This is the location where the 30-​something owners all seem to hang out. Always smiling and always putting together perfect sandwiches «Mike’s Way.» The facility is always clean and you can sit inside or outside in the La Jolla perfect weather. I will always remind them to slice my beef/​turkey extra thin, but you don’t really have to! They’re always cool about giving a few extra pickles on the side which me and my Dad just love. You can get one large sammy and split it 2 ways easily. There really isn’t a thing I would change about the venue, the staff or the quality of the food. For a perfect deli sub, this is the place!

Came during the lunch rush and the service was still great. The twin brothers were incredibly friendly and attentive. I ordered the mini club sub and it was the right amount of food to get me through my work day. I have no complaints for this establishment. Until next time!!!

Great Jersey Mike’s location, right in the middle of La Jolla. I’m already a big fan of the quality ingredients, etc. today I wasn’t even going there but was nearby, so stopped in. I was blown away by the great service. Rachael heard I wasn’t eating my sub ’til tomorrow and kindly wrapped the meat seperately with wax paper so the bread wouldn’t get soggy. I don’t see that often. and she has a wonderful smile. Forrester is from Michigan so he was getting five stars anyway, but man is he nice, and rung up the order perfectly. Bravo! Hunt down this relatively hidden location (behind Union Bank on Girard), you’ll be glad you did!

I love coming to this location since it is close to my work. Everyone is always really helpful and I never have to wait long to order and get my sandwich. I was helped by Gavin today. Really cool dude. Thank you guys for always providing excellent service!

My out of town guest and I were on our way to Karl Strauss and stumbled upon this Jersey Mike’s location. I am a big fan and regular of the two locations in Kearny Mesa and Clairemont. Since I’d mentioned to my guest that we’d have to try this while she was here, we stopped in with high expectations based on visits from other locations.
We ordered the #7 with avocado. We saw the Turkey Club special that came with bacon and my guest said she cannot have bacon because she’s allergic. The girl was in a hurry or assumed what she thought she heard and they started a sandwich with bacon. That had to be scrapped — no big deal. My primary issue is the ingredient portions:
the provolone cheese was tissue paper thin
very little lettuce. Lettuce is SO cheap — it’s not even the green kind — why not pile it on?
the requisite (albeit skimpy 5 (?) slices of tomatoes.
They kindly gave us pickles on the side as requested and didn’t drown the sandwich with oil and vinegar.
We were both disappointed — me especially since I am a fan and raved to my out of town guest.

I love Jersey Mike’s and have been to several locations throughout San Diego. I randomly found this spot by using my Unilocal app while searching for a quick bite to go in downtown La Jolla.
I ordered my usual: turkey and provolone but sub swiss for the provolone. The sandwich maker said he agreed with my choice to swap the cheeses. Good to have his support! :) I always thought it was funny that they list the cheese on the menu instead of just letting you choose your own cheese anyway. I go for the traditional Mike’s Way minus the onions, which again, I received a thumbs up for from my sandwich maker.

Ate at Jersey Mikes for the first time, I will never eat there again. I have to admit the food was good, but the service was the worst I have ever experienced. He was incredibly rude to me, and when I asked to speak to the manager, it was him treating me this way. As I was getting my drinks, he (as well as the other employees) continued to berate me.
Maybe you can get away with treating people like that in Jersey, but here in California you treat people with respect to stay in business.

I work near this Jersey Mike’s location, so I come here often. The guys behind the counter always greet me by name and know my regular order, including what veggies and toppings I want! Im surprised at all the reviews saying they have poor service, because I absolutely disagree. They always make me feel welcome and make my. sandwiches perfectly!
The sandwiches themselves are delicious. I usually get a mini Italian or a turkey and provolone sandwich, but more recently I have been experimenting with other kinds. I have not been unhappy with any sandwich I have ever had here, and will continue to eat here!
I live in PB, and I like this store much better than the one near my apartment mainly due to the great staff in La Jolla. The location itself has pros and cons, the main con being the lack of free parking, but that’s just what you get here in beautiful downtown La Jolla. The inside is clean and well-​kept. Definitely my one of favorite lunch places!

After getting coupons in the mail and newspaper for months, I finally tried Jersey Mike’s today. For being a chain, I was pleasantly surprised by the awesome service and tasty food.
Service: When I first walked in, I was greeted right away. Mel was super friendly and very helpful in recommending various subs to me. She was also super fast! I have never seen anyone make a sub so quickly. I mentioned that to her and she said that she just loves what she. (I think she’s perfected her craft!) You don’t find too many people with such a positive attitude about their job (especially in the service industry), so I really appreciated her positive energy and her friendliness.
Food: I got the #9 Club Supreme (regular size) and it was filled with lots of roast beef and turkey. The bacon was also very crispy. I’m so used to bacon in subs that have been sitting out for so long, it’s almost like leather. The bacon here was perfectly crisp. I got my sub Mike’s way and it looked like a lot of oil and vinegar when she put it on, but when eating it, it was the perfect amount. The bread wasn’t soggy at all and I could tell it was baked fresh. I really enjoyed my sub. My husband had the chicken parm and enjoyed it as well.
Parking: Free 20 min parking in the Sunset garage right next to it ~ I didn’t realize this until after I found a spot on the street.
Discounts: Pricing is higher than your average sandwich shop, but they have coupons all the time. I had a coupon from ages ago and it didn’t have an expiration and it still worked. They often have coupons in the mail or local newspaper. If you sign up for their frequent buyer club (just give them your phone number), you get a free sub after purchasing 12.
I’ll definitely be back to get another sub from Jersey Mike’s again soon!

This place is so delicious! The service is the fastest you’ll find in all of san diego, even if the line is going out the door. I’ve been here a lot and they have never ever messed up my order. Very impressive!
They carry taylor ham! (Pork roll) which some jersey mikes dont have. It’s delicious and they know how to cook it! The cheesesteak, chicken cesar wrap, and spicy italian sub are my other favorites but no matter what you get it comes out so fresh! Very clean place too.

I stopped in this Jersey Mike’s location prior to a locale Unilocal event. I decided to try their turkey, avocado, bacon, and provolone sub on white which came nicely wrapped in their signature paper. (

The sub came on a nice moist roll (
) and let’s just say they did not skimp on the ingredient. It had a moderate amount fresh turkey, stacked high with lettuce, slice tomatoes, and a healthy slathering of avocado spread. (
) An extra layer of cheese would of been sincerely welcomed! The sub was great and the oil and salt, pepper, and herb dusting brought the sub together well. (
) The bacon was very crispy and had great flavor. A good tasty sub, no doubt.
One thing that caught my attention was the up beat but well mannered service I experience. The girl who made my sub had a good personality and a good sense of humor. The young man who was working at the time I was there was very helpful and sincere.
I love a good sub.
