Help My Headlights

I bought a voucher for Help My Headlights through Living Social as a Christmas gift and it turned out to be a huge headache just trying to redeem the voucher. There were numerous attempts to set up an appointment by both phone and online. The voucher expired, so I finally had to contact Living Social. They contacted the company and a new voucher was sent with an expiration date of August 2015. After numerous attempts to make an appointment, I received an email telling me it was no longer available and included a link to get a refund. I did get the refund, but the months of frustration trying to make contact with this company soured me from EVER doing business with them again at any price. I don’t fault Living Social, but it’s two thumbs down for Help My Headlights!

I hope to be able to change this review. I purchased a LivingSocial deal and requested the appointment. It’s been a week and I haven’t received a call yet. I tried contacting this business by the phone number listed on their website (and provided by LivingSocial) but it is «out of service.»
Any suggestions for how to get ahold of this «business?»

Save yourself the hassle. Horrible customer service, 2 no call no shows.
I purchased a pretty sweet deal on Livingsocial that went through this company. I was so excited to finally have my headlights restored to their original state but unfortunately that did not happen.
First after going through the whole unorganized appointment process I finally got an appointment that worked perfectly for me. Come the day of the appointment, no call, no show, no response to the voicemail I left. I emailed the appointment lady and she apologized and said that the next available appointment was a few weeks out. OK no problem, I scheduled another appointment and confirmed with her.
It was scheduled at 2pm today, it is now 2:30 another no cal no show. I called their phone multiple times and nothing but voicemail.
Going to refund my money through Livingsocial and find a more reputable company around town.

This is an email I sent to them after one no show appointment and months of trying to get them to reschedule:
«I STILL have not heard anything back from anyone about this. Honestly, I’ve never dealt with a company with such an unapologetic lack of customer service and professionalism. I’m starting to feel like this is a scam.»
Finally got a response after that with a reschedule date and got no showed on again. Refund.

Not so pleased. I got the Living Social special for $ 30 and glad I didn’t pay $ 90. The fellow was finished in about 5 minutes. The headlights are not much different than they were before. Their website says a typical restoration takes up to an hour. Glad I did not upgrade to the sealant.

Bought LivingSocial deal. Submitted appointment request as soon as HMH provided instructions. HMH confirmed first availability was 1 month later, which I accepted and HMH confirmed. They didn’t show, and were unresponsive to texts, calls, and emails.
Called LivingSocial for refund. «Our policy is no refunds after 7 days». Had to make a stink because this is the second time getting burned on a LivingSocial deal, and finally got a refund.
Run do not walk from this company and from LivingSocial deals. Its too bad because I believe Amazon bought LivingSocial and I thought they would improve their consumer protection and also would deal with more reputable vendors.

FURTHER UPDATE: Have tried to contact the company to redo our headlights and there has been no contact at all. No return emails or calls. So this is a huge ripoff. They take your money and ignore you if you’re not happy. Not a great recipe for a business. Not unless you just don’t give a d – m about what people think of your service (or lack thereof). I’m pissed. I paid $ 60 for nothing. And another $ 30 for a gift voucher for my friends messed up headlights. So I’m out $ 90! Grrrrr.

Bought through Amazon Local and then paid the technician cash to upgrade to clear coat. Waste of money on our 2006 Lexus. The headlights look worse than before the tech began. Foggy and streaky. That was about two months ago, I’ve called back and left messages repeatedly to no avail. Should be called «Ruin My Headlights.»

I got the email from Amazon and figured for $ 30 to have my headlights restored, it was worth a shot. I made the appointment via email. No show. I called after they were half an hour late, got the answering machine, left a message, and never got a response. After an hour I sent an email. Again, no response. This morning, I got a text message saying they had sent an email that my appointment had been canceled. Not true.
Enough is enough. At this point, I would not trust them to do an acceptable job even if they showed up right on time. I called Amazon and got my money back without any problem. They thanked me for the negative feedback on Help My Headlights, so maybe they’ll be a little more careful whose services they offer in the future.

I called them off a groupon add, they came out to the house (from SD to Laguna Hills) so that was a good thing. I talked to Arnold, an extremely helpful guy with a lot of information regarding the service and the product. Not only did they treat the headlights on my truck but also treated my daughters older MBZ (those were a disaster). For what he had to work with I think it turned out great and I am very happy I made that simple phone call. The price was great, I couldn’t have asked for a more pleasant experience.

My car looks new! The tech was super friendly and obviously care a lot about what they do. Great price and terrific service!

I didn’t know that there was a coupon for groupon. I got a quote at Lexus and they quoted me $ 80 per headlight. I asked what
type of warranty they offered on the restoration. He whispered in a low voice. I’m supposed to say about 6 months but he told me it takes 6 months to get just as bad as it does now. It starts to get yellow again after the first wash.
So when I searched for a headlight restoration company I found help my
Headlights. They had mixed reviews at the time. This was about 6 months ago. But they were the only ones that offered a warranty and for $ 120 regular price. It sure beats $ 160 at Lexus with no warranty. I ran into my technician in line at Costco yesterday and he asked how everything was. Headlights look amazing still. The ONLY thing wrong was my sister came home and was astonished by the results and pressed on the clear coat while it was just a bit wet and now her fingerprints are on it but I didn’t care. I never had issues with scheduling or getting a hold of someone. I assume that it was because I purchased during a time where there was no groupon or a living social promotion. Most companies, especially restaurants, get bombarded when they run deals. Great tech. Great service. Great customer service. Great company.

I got in an accident and the body shop replace the headlights with used headlights. When the repairs were completed, I noticed that they put ugly yellow ones in. I demanded new ones, but I believe that they just buffed them out. A month later the headlights were yellow again and worse than before. I got this voucher through Amazon Local. I followed the instructions on the voucher which was to fill out a form online that listed my availabilities. My schedule is so inconsistent that I had them meet me at the mall! Well I killed two birds with one stone.
These guys are the real deal. This experience was a hassle-​free and very very convenient. Raul was extremely friendly and I was impressed with the level of customer service I received. Anytime I see someone with messed up headlights i’ll tell them to go to Help My Headlights.

Bought the deal with intentions to have my Toyota 4Runner worked on. When the person arrived, he looked closely at the headlights and suggested that the cleaning wouldn’t make much of a difference since they we’re still in good condition. He asked if I had another car that may need the work and luckily I did. He worked on my Toyota Camry.
I like that he taped around the headlights.
Time it took to completely the work was reasonable. (30 – 40 minutes)
Arrived on time and was ready to work.
Headlights look new again!
I’m giving them 4 stars only because my first and second request of appointment date couldn’t be made due to the fact that they we’re booked in advanced.

My car was completed over two weeks ago somewhere around mid to late July I can’t remember. The reason I am giving a five star is because these people are professional, courteous and as a woman they made me feel very comfortable and explained every little detail to me.
My friend recommended I get my headlights done, but she kept telling me to buy a kit at the store for $ 25, but when I the email from Amazon Local for $ 30, it was a no brainer. The only thing I was hesitant was that they had mixed reviews, some people loved them and others hated them.
I had an amazing experience! I talked to him the whole time while he was doing the headlights. Arnold was very diligent, pleasant and professional. They really impressed me with the final result!
AFTER TWO WEEKS so far they looked just as good as the day he restored them.
Most importantly they have mastered their craft and they deliver!

I completely forgot that I had this voucher and it expired. I called the 619 number and Kristi i think her name was told me that they would redeem it. Nice!
So my service was just done today on a 98 Mitsubishi Eclipse with the original headlights that are now yellowed. I tried to schedule over the phone, but she said it would be much easier to fill out the form online since asking all the questions over the phone would take 10 – 15 minutes and she might transcribe things incorrectly. It took about 2 minutes tops to fill it out.
I got a response from Kristi that she received it and she should find an opening for me based on my availability within 72 hours. They just want to make sure the tech’s route is not back and forth. I was scheduled 2 days later for the very next week. Honestly I expected to be scheduled a month later based on everyone else’s reviews.
Ronald was my technician. He was friendly and did an amazing job!
Btw, toothpaste does not work!

I got a restoration done at Sam’s Club about a month ago. It was supposed to have a 5 year warranty. It shouldn’t have a 1 day warranty. I hate to say it but Sam’s Club aka fancy Wal-​Mart employees just aren’t skilled enough to do this. First it takes about 90 minutes but they sprayed too much and there were dust particles everywhere. It even bled in one spot. Sam’s club uses a machine and I think they scratched my paint but they denied it. It is clearly in a rotating pattern which is like the tool they used. Well in life you get what you paid for.
So thx Headlights Restoration for cleaning up the mess.

Decided to give this company a try after a failed attempt at restoring my headlights with a kit from autozone. My appointment was set fairly fast, received an email 2 days after filling out their form. I wasn’t sure what to expect on the results. The day of the appointment, Arnold came; I saw him tape around the headlights (which I appreciated) showed he cared for my car. I went ahead with the clear coat because I wanted the warranty and WOW I was very pleased with the end result. My headlights went from old to looking like new within 40 minutes. If any of my friends or family needed their headlights restored, I would recommend Help My Headlights.

This «business» advertises routinely through GroupOn, Amazon, LivingSocial, etc. For $ 30 it seems like a great deal. Here’s the catch: they never show up, they never call you back, they never attempt to do any work, they don’t even have a tech in Charlotte! Basically, they steal your money. Fortunately, Amazon refunded my money on the spot after my attempts failed after 3 weeks. Don’t believe me? Check out the Unilocal in San Francisco, which I should have before buying.

I got the $ 30 Amazon deal. I was scheduled a week ½ from purchase.
Angel texted to ask if he could come early. That was awesome! He was an hour earlier than scheduled.
He was done in an hour.
One lens was brighter than the other. He said it was on the inside of the lens.
Look ok for a 12 year old lens that has never been restored.
I’ll update if I have any changes. It was a warm sunny Thursday in October.
