Adopted an 8 week old kitten yesterday! Everyone was very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Good luck with the rest of the cuties. Go adopt a kitten!

An update on why Lenise and crew rule.
Yes, awesome place to take care of your furry friends’ grooming needs and stock up on supplies.
What isn’t advertised is the expertise Lenise has in animal health. I’ve had two issues with one of my cats and while I love and trust our vet, Lenise’s background prior to All About Animals and the knowledge she’s gained since opening the store, allowed her to recommend some changes to our litter and food that really helped make some major improvements in everyone’s life in our home.

Super knowledgable staff that can help you with your pet’s unique (or not so unique) nutrition needs.
They have tons of supplies for various other critters (birds, fish, I believe they have guinea pigs and rabits/​others from time to time) and are in a great location near places to grub, get coffee, etc. Don’t sweat what may look like a lack of parking, do a quick lap and a spot WILL open up on the street. There’s a couple places to eat and get coffee too if you’re in the mood to stretch your legs.
In terms of grooming, I have two long-​haired cats, one requiring more maintenance than the other, but Lenise and team always do a great job.
I said it before, but I’ll say it again, if you live anywhere near Birdrock, La Jolla, Pacific Beach, Crown Point, Ocean Beach or Mission Beach, this should be your stop for dog or cat grooming and pet needs.
Great service, affordable prices, awesome staff and a locally run/​owned business. What’s not to like?

Took my husky mix in to get a bath. She came back perfectly clean and quite honestly I have never seen her so clean. Reasonable prices as well

Great pet shop. They have been in Bird Rock for quite some time. great service and good prices. They are great at pet grooming.

Cheap for a reason. She hacked my dog’s hair. I could have done a better job. I was actually worried about her trimming his nails but she did not seem to injure him so, that’s good (?).
The place is gross and dirty. Smelly bunny cages where the bunnies are living in their own filth with bugs buzzing around them.

The is the best pet shop in America. Nothing compares to the friendly than the staff. They are helpful, and have the best job in the world! They are very open to children and adults petting the cats, and could talk about pets forever! Take your pet needs to this wonderful store!

This place is great! They rock at grooming my Chow/​Border Collie’s crazy coat and he comes out of there so adorably proud of himself. They are also the best at nail trimming I’ve ever gone to, for cats or dogs. Lenise, the owner, is especially good. She’s pretty no-​nonsense, so don’t be surprised if she asks you if your dog or cat is difficult. I respect that — she needs to know what she’s getting into!
As for the reviewer that brought her nephew and niece into a grooming place to introduce them to animals for the first time — what? Yeah, Lenise was honest with you that dogs sense fear, so what? And it sounds like she only said that after your nephew jumped away from a dog that Lenise clearly trusted enough to make the introduction. It seems to me she was trying to help you and those kids by telling you that projecting fear like that could make even a good dog misbehave. Kids need to be told the truth about animals, not some fairy tale. Good for Lenise for being honest! My respect for her just went up even more.

Stay away from this place.
The owner, yes the owner, not some under paid teen, was scaring my nephew and niece while we were in their shop browsing. In front of my 5 year old nephew and 4 year old niece she was threatening them how DOGS WOULD BITE them if they acted scared in front of the dog. Who speaks to two little kids like this?
At one point she let a dog from the back room out to the front of the shop. When the dog came scurrying out, my nephew jumped up and asked me to pick him up. The owner then muttered a judgmental «Jesus» under her breath. So rude. Give him a break — he’s five and the dog is half his size!
I cannot comprehend how there are still air headed individuals out there insisting on working in customer service but that is the field that they should stay the furthest away from.
I would have thought a pet shop to be the «go to» place for kids and a place that would have a reputation of being «friendly» … All About Animals is far from that.

Do NOT use them to care for your pets while you’re away. We felt so bad for our two cats when we made this mistake. She failed to clean the litter as promised.
She admitted that she say they had resorted to going to the bathroom on the bed. She didn’t contact us, didn’t clean up the mess, and still didn’t touch the litter. For two weeks. TWO WEEKS. We came home to miserable cats, a disgusting house, and a totally ruined brand new mattress.
She didn’t have the decency to apologize. What a nightmare. No one who loves pets would have done this.

After taking my long haired Chihuahuas several places I found All about Animals and it was a great experience. The owner was able to get me in last minute twice now and its much appreciated as my schedule changes last minute. They are very caring and did exactly what I asked. I like my dogs shaved and they look great.
Also I just got a large foster dog and I was desperate to find someone to check on him because the previously scheduled dog sitter got injured the day before he arrived and I work all day long so if he was freaking out I would not know it.
I called the shop and even though they don’t usually walk dogs in my neighborhood she gave me her cell phone number and said If I cant figure something out they will come over and help during the first week or so. I’m so grateful to have that piece of mind. I ended up getting a neighbor to look in on him and he did freak out with separation anxiety the first day but its getting better.
Thanks for going above and beyond! I look forward to bringing my big guy for a bath soon.

I went to get my doggies nails cut and he came back happy as ever! I asked about a problem he was having and they helped me solve the issue.
All in all, I really love All About Animals! Their service is great and they are VERY helpful. They have lots of cute toys and bits to buy. Most importantly my dog is happy which makes me happy.

They did an awesome job giving my cat his first haircut! He looks great, and they were very informative of helping me find the right care needs for his breed. I definitely recommend getting a cat cut there.

The staff was nice, but my dog came back with dirty ears and still shed a lot right after the wash. She usually doesn’t shed for days after a wash.

I have been taking our «TRIXIE» (Sheltie) to All About Animals for over 2 years. They are so professioinal and friendly. As you can imagine her «Fluff –n-​Puff» Day is NOT her favorite activity but she comes home so clean & expertly shaven in all the right places. She prances around with her new «Do» !! I also reccomend the high quality foods they offer. THANKS for always taking such good care of my girl.

I’ve been taking our «grand-​doggies» in for their grooming for years. The thing I like most about the owner is her willingness to accommodate a random call from me — «Can I bring both dogs in for a wash today, right now?» The answer is always yes, no problem. They did a nice renovation of the store some time ago and it seems to get better all the time. The owner is so accommodating.

Was not impressed with the staff. Got my dogs groomed here about 4x, and they were so SO frightened to come back each time I knew something was wrong. The last time I came in, I was going to pick my dog up who was just finished being groomed. I heard him screeching and Unilocaling painfully, while the person who was cleaning him was not being gentle or kind. The lady behind the counter was not friendly, either. You honestly can’t be All About Animals if you aren’t loving towards them!

I recently took my two little dogs in to get groomed. When I took them in, I could tell that the entire staff truly love animals and treated them just as good as I treat my babies. I was able to drop them off in the morning and pick them up when I was out of work. They both look amazing! I will surely go back! The prices are very reasonable too! This is much more than grooming… There store is very large, with a ton of fun animal stuff :)

Our dog Rocky is a puggle with umm, wicked anal glands (common in puggles). They do the best job bathing him and cleaning him all up. Last time they cleaned his anal glands, I saw stuff shoot across the room! They just cleaned it up and took extra care of him. every time we took him in for a bath, they remember what his special needs are and are super sweet to him. He always smells great and the bandana is adorable! Great price too!

I usually feel that unless I have have something nice to say, I should just zip it, but this is one time I feel my negative feed back may be beneficial to someone.
Although I see many people rated this business with 4 and 5 stars, based on my experience I truly can’t give more than one. While they helped me by taking my cat when I was in a last minute bind, attempting to de-​flea my home, in the end I almost didn’t get my cat back.
When I went in to pick my cat up, the girl kept insisting that the cat she was giving me MY cat, even though I continued to explain how that cat wasn’t MY cat. I explained that I had never brought my cat to a groomer before, and she responded, «oh this cat comes here all the time», «she looks different because we shaved her», I said I didn’t want my cat shaved and that she has never been shaved, and the girl said «we have shaved her many times». I said that wasn’t even my cat carrier, and she said «hmmm, I think it is». Ten long minutes…
Now, I would know if my cat had been there, much less had been shaved.
She insisted that it was the only animal left to be picked-​up for the evening, when finally another groomer came in and said that my cat was still in the back. Ok, terror ceased, crisis averted, I get my cat back, pay for the «bath» and go home.
Upon getting home and letting my cat out of her carrier I realized there is no way she was given a bath.
The next day I went back, they nonchalantly say «no, she wasn’t given a bath, we didn’t have enough time to bathe her». I explain the situation from the night before, and the lady didn’t even bat an eye, didn’t apologize, just plucked cash out of the register, handed it to me, and said «here is your money back».
Now the underlying problem here is that my cat was clearly left for hours in a carrier, without food, water, or a litter box because they didn’t have time to get to her, and apparently didn’t even know she was back there.
Not only will I NOT come back to this business, I don’t recommend trusting their quality of work either.

i just moved here, from FL and didn’t know where to take my dog bella (cocker spaniel) to get groomed. browsing the web i came across this family-​like place and decided it sounded the best. WHICH IT WAS. the nice woman (who now i realize i didnt get the name of; probably the owner) was so friendly! she asked me preferences to how i would like bellas hair cut.
when i came to get bella her hair looked perfect! they trimmed her paws up so nicely! she smells and looks great. the location is easy to find, and i loved the friendly caring enviornment. i will definitely be back!
