La Habra Modern Dentistry and Orthodontics

I’m so happy that I came here. I moved a little over a year ago and have been putting off going to the dentist because … yeah, it’s the dentist. I generally get nervous going to the dentist since I grew up on a steady diet of candy, so having to find a new dentist was all the excuse I needed to avoid going. However, I took my son to the kids’ dentist next door six months ago, and he has a check up later this week. So, I finally put on my «big boy pants» and called in to made an appointment for myself. Everyone was so nice, professional, and helpful. They took a lot of time and care to explain everything that was going on and made me feel super comfortable.

Staff was really courteous and offered good customer service. The office manger explain things very well for me to understand and the dentist were quick and through. No one looks forward to visiting a dentist, so the fact that the visit was quick and involved good customer service made it as pleasant as possible.

This place is truly amazing! I was greeted by Elizabeth who also attended me through my whole appointment. Not only was she friendly, but she was so easy to talk too! She made me feel comfortable at a place I don’t like very much! So thank you Elizabeth!
Tina is one of the receptionist there who was helping me as well. A patient brought a puppy and her son put the pup next to me. I wasn’t afraid but Tina kindly asked not to put the puppy next to others without their permission and I love how she respected the patient, son and myself. Thank you!
Yvonne was amazing! She helped me so much with my insurance because I just got this new insurance and needed to know what was being covered or not. She helped me so much and she was so patient with me because of all the questions I asked.
This place is just amazing and I feel so at home! It takes a lot for me to warm up at dentist offices and this place is a place I would not want to stop coming! Thank you for being amazing!!! Stay awesome! See you all soon!

I called to schedule my daughter appointment over the phone and was given a date and time. I show up after taking the day off work, and my daughter out of school, to be told that they made a mistake. I had to reschedule an appointment. At the appointment, they apologized for the inconvenience and were very professional and nice to me and my daughter. Dr Martinez was very thorough and informative. They are very sensitive to a child’s fear of the dentist and are very patient. The office was clean and modern. I’m waiting on a price for the work my daughter needs to get done, but with the reviews I’ve read, I don’t know if I can even afford the treatment there. I have great insurance and never have paid much out of pocket at previous dentist offices.

La Habra Modern Dentistry is exceptionally good. Dr Angelus is thorough and gentle. Elizabeth is a great dental assistant. Tina in the front office is very helpful and friendly. It is so convenient to have Saturday appointments available too.

Well here I am again. Why? I don’t know. My appt. was at 9 and I’m still sitting in the chair at 9:42 when I hear the cleaning lady tell the person next door «okay let’s get started.» Well that means that I’ll be here a while longer. UPDATE: 10:15…still waiting. Anybody wonder why people dislike going to the dentist? Ugh, glad it’s Saturday, I’ve got nothing to do (roll of the eyes)… Stay tuned…11:00…still nothing. 11:10 I walked out. I told the receptionist that I wasn’t waiting any longer. She apologized (I told her it wasn’t her fault) and asked me if I wanted to reschedule. I kindly said no thank you.
Nobody could come in and say anything to me? Nobody could tell me that they didn’t forget about me? Anything? I mean shoot, I could have been dancing naked in there to that awesome music they play and nobody would have known…
Dear LHMD… please don’t contact me about this post like you did last time to «try and make it right». This is the second time that’s it’s taken me this long to simply get a cleaning.
By the way, my last review from 2÷23÷15 should have been 3 stars not 5… I must have clicked 5 on accident. It was a very painful experience.
Never again. Never again will I visit this office.

Dr Rahimi is gentle and patient. I felt that they listened to me and took care of my needs in a professional manner. Highly recommend this office.

This place is terrible. I made an appointment without checking Unilocal and they told me that I had two teeth and no cavities but I needed a deep cleaning which would cost me a few hundred dollars even with my insurance. Then once I went home I checked on Unilocal and everyone said that they try and squeeze in deep cleanings even when they’re not necessary. I signed a contract for a minute I’m assuming that I would go to my next visit for the deep cleaning but never showed up for my visit. They still charge to me and try to take money out of my debit account for the work that was never done. I assume this is considered fraud! Do not go here, there are tons of other dentist offices around of the area.

Adult Dentist office is very good from receptionist to dentist, they do very good job. I recommended.

I hate the dentist, but was pleasantly surprised by the care I received here. Dr. Angelus was very honest during his exam, and acknowledged my concerns. Looking forward to my Ortho consult next month :)

Came to reseat a loose crown and figured why not get my teeth cleaned. OMG, the dental hygienist, who only works Saturday, did the best cleaning job ever!!! No pain! I’ve been to other dentists and had hack jobs on cleaning where I was so sore I couldn’t eat for 2 days. This was absolutely the best, pain free experience. She only works Saturday but worth the wait.

Our regular dentist recommended that we see a pediatric dentist for some work on our daughter’s teeth. We chose to go to Modern Dentistry for a third opinion.
Office was very clean, it was easy to make an appointment, and the dentist was nice and seemed to be thorough
My daughter had x-​rays taken against for the 3^rd time. Our dentist found 6 cavities, the 2^nd dentist found 8 cavities and then Modern Dentistry found 10 cavities.
My issue is why did this dentist supposedly find 10 cavities when the other dentists found less?
Afterwards I called them on 5 different occasions and asked them to please give me copies of the x-​rays so that I could have my own dentist review them. They never returned my phone calls. Extremely unprofessional! I went in person one time to get copies of the x-​rays and all they would me is paper ones that were not useful. I called again another time and left a voicemail with my dentist’s email address so that they could forward the x-​rays or at least the results of the appointment and they never did nor did they call me with an explanation.
This behavior makes me very leary to have them do work on my daughters mouth!

I’ve seen mixed reviews for La Habra Modern Dentistry. From my experience, going in for an annual cleaning and x-​rays a year after having all work necessary on my teeth performed at a different dental office — i was surprised when they recommend a deep cleaning stated it was necessary because i had periodontal disease. They were surprised I hadn’t been told that before. But I was shocked because I’ve maintained my teeth with visits every six months.
Now I wonder if it was really true. I’ve never paid so much out of pocket in the last 20 years than here. I honestly don’t know what to think, but felt I needed to post this review because part of me feels it was a money thing.
The staff was nice, but the wait is long, never seem on time. In a plus side Red Robin is in walking distance so I was able to enjoy a Mai Tai and wait there :) had them call me when they were ready!

I just do not appreciate the high price they offer. I understand it is a business, but damn they charge an arm and a leg to maintain my gum after my periodontal surgery. I floss and brush twice daily. I am looking for another dentist in my insurance group.
$ 3500 co pay for my periodontal surgery (without insurance is around $ 10,000 or something like that)
I have seen their dentist and dental hygienist in the past year. I never left paying anything under $ 50 per visit. This past visit, they inform me to pay $ 150 for irrigation maintenance or gum maintenance just to see a dental hygienist. Let my teeth fall off or something, I am done with this. If this is dental cost, I rather just let my teeth fall off than to pay such a high price. I have great insurance as well. Let it be known.

I recommend this place to anyone that wants quality work done. It is very pricey but the results are great. The staff is willing to work out payment plans if need be.

I took my 4 year old to her first dentist appointment. Dentist Martinez was awsome! The hygienists was very nice as well. Kid friendly. My daughter had an excellent experience. Happy kid =Happy mommy!

They took 3 hrs to rip off a cap because supposedly something was wrong with it even though I wasn’t having any symptoms. My cheek and gums got all cut up. I was in tears. They didn’t check my insurance for approval before beginning this procedure so I ended up paying over $ 700 for a new cap that fell off twice. When they tried to put it back on, they would scrape my tooth in-​numbed which was excruciating. Go to La Habra Smile Dentistry. They are phenomenal.

Why would you schedule patients to come in for an 8:30am appointment if you have a «brief morning meeting «was waiting for almost 30min for someone to acknowledge me. Front desk staff was very rude and pushy.

I think they did an OK job on the work that was done, my problem is I went in on a referral just for orthodontry and possibly a tooth extraction, was then told to see their implant specialist, who told me 2 of my fillings needed to be replaced with porcelain inlays. 450 dollars later, they try to tell me that work also completely maxed my 1500 maximum on my dental insurance and to get the implant and tooth extraction instead of braces it was ging to be $ 1600. Yeah right! My bad for not going back to my original dentist and GTFO before getting the work done that I got, but 2 MONTHS LATER my claim is finally processed and guess what? I still have $ 760 on my insurance maximum. So either these people don’t know what they are doing, or are scam artists, or both.

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. Awful office staff. Yvonne is a liar and takes advantage of people. Do not trust them when they present options. I would never go back here, nor would I recommend this place to anyone.
