Clocks Off Main

Great service, really nice and knowledgeable proprietor. He seems to provide many services (like changing a battery) at cost… hope ther are loss leaders that bring in real paying customers.

I was on vacation visiting family when we stumbled on this repair and retail clock shop. At first I simply needed my watch cleaned. After talking with the owner about some family clocks that needed repairs we drove 80 miles round trip to deliver them and couldn’t be happier with the results. We now have two old family treasures that are in perfect working order. The price would have been much higher in the city. Thanks for your help.

Nice guy, but… I took my Nixon watch in because my pin was missing a screw and it seemed to be a screw that could not be found in any store. So, he tells me he can order a screw for me no problem. OK great! I drop it off May 23^rd. He will call me when it is done. I call back June 4^th because I have not heard anything. He tells me all the screws he has ordered are not fitting so he is going to try one last screw and get back to me. OK great! I do not hear anything back so I call him on June 19TH! I ask him if my watch is done and he says yes be he had to replace the entire pin. I say OK and I will come down to pick it up. I get there and the pin is nothing like the one I originally had in my Nixon watch. The one that was originally in my watch was nice an hidden. The new pin that he put in sticks out with round balls on both sides of my watch! It is beyond tacky. But was going to look past it because I could finally wear my watch again. I then go to put it on and strap the band down with the extra little piece that is there to hold the slack and it is gone. I say «uh oh, this piece is missing. Do you have it in the envelope (where he was keeping my watch) He looks at me and says «oh nope. it never came in with one. I saw that it was missing and knew some people did not like them and would take them off. I assumed that’s what you did.» I said «No, it defiantly came in here with it on because it never would have come off with the watch clasp still on. It must have fallen on when you removed the whole piece to put on a new pin.» He continued to say «no, I don’t think I ever saw it.» Then offers to take me over to the shoe repair store and get a piece of black leather glued on my watch to hold the strap in place. At this point I was pissed. I walked over there to give it a shot but I am livid with how tacky my $ 200 watch now looks with an over sized pin and black leather strap on a green band. I then called Nixon and luckily they are sending me a new piece. What a headache.
