Planet Fitness – Knoxville – Kingston Pike

I was told over the phone there would be no fees to get out of my membership but it had to be done in person. When I got there, it was a $ 58 fee and the dude neglected to mention it had to be done before the 10^th or you get charged for the next month. Also, when I was transferring my membership from Johnson City to Knoxville, I asked if it wold affect my membership at all. I was told no, that Mhmmmm my information would just be transferred. It actually put me in another year contract. Beware of the hidden fees!!!

Great staff who really care for the guests and members. The gym is very clean with solution and paper towels everywhere. There is a 30 minute work out area to help get you started. There is a personal trainer! There are tanning bed and newly added hydro massage beds. I just tried hydro massage for the first time. It seems like it might be a waterbed but really it’s a fully adjustable «daily» massage. There is enough equipment that there isn’t a line. I’m a fan.

I’ve been a member at this gym for about 8 months now.
Even though, i’ve been kicked out for having a tank top that showed my sports bra, set off the lunk alarm for racking my weights, and from all the shit people give me for being a member… all-​in-​all, its a great gym for a really cheap price

and
–i continue to get gainz
plus… $ 8.50/month (if you sign up online), beats 40 $/​month at NFC/​RUSH all day in my book.

I was the first paying customer to enter the doors on the day they opened, I was a happy customer them and I am still happy. The staff is second to none; they are very accommodating and care about my fitness goals and well being.
The equipment is well-​maintained and there is a good verity. The equipment selection they have is all one needs to lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle. There are no free weights which is good since that keeps the «lunks» mostly away. The people who complain about there not being enough equipment must have never worked out there, getting a machine is never an issue.
Be sure the check out the 30 minute workout area, it’s great for getting in a quick workout at lunchtime or after work before dinner.
The extra’s for black card members include massage chairs and tanning beds; while everyone might not find value in that I love the fact that after a good workout I can relax in the massage chair or get in some red-​light therapy.
If I had one negative point it would have to be the music selection they that plays in the gym; everything from country to love songs — not music that should every be played when your trying to get pumped. This is not enough to knock off any stars… The local staff can’t do anything about the playlist since it’s controlled by planet fitness HQ; trust me, I have asked.
I am so glad we have this option in Knoxville… I am told there are more opening soon…

I like this gym. I joined before they opened, and went until this month when I moved away. The place is clean, the showers (ladies at least) are completely enclosed with individual doors, not just with a curtain, and I’ve never had an issue here. I only did free weights on occasion, so I never felt like I was competing with others, but I know immediately after work it did get busy. However, the people were friendly, the machines all seemed to work just fine, and I never once had to wait for a cardio machine. For $ 10, can’t beat it. Because I liked it here so much, I transferred my membership to a Planet Fitness in another state, where I have moved, and that was painless. I don’t think they’re trying to do anything really shady with the membership cancellation as another reviewer mentioned – but hey – *any* time you cancel something, keep records of your paperwork and keep an eye on your accounts. I never had any issues with billing – my money was taking out like clockwork each month.
Overall, with no contract and $ 10/​month for a 24 hour gym? Best deal in town.

I am not happy. A month ago I canceled my memebership with PF after they charged my savings acct 10 times and my checking acct one time totaling $ 160 for what should have been $ 10! Today I find out that they have done it again! Who would’ve thought that after you cancel your memebership you would have to worry about that? However, today I’m not as understanding. Last time I was calm, I knew things like this happened. However, when you take $ 311 out of my savings acct after I’m no longer a memeber? WHAT THE CRAP?! I DO NOT reccommend this gym to anyone and regret not sticking with The Rush all along!

Small as hell, like seriously this thing is tiny. Maybe like 20 or so machines in the entire gym and that may not sound that bad but think about it, that’s like 5 for lower body, 5 or so for upper body… etc etc. No free standing bench either so when you do squats or benchpress you have to follow the rack which is lame. (I get that maybe they don’t want somebody gettin stuck and possibly dying in there at like 4 in the morning but I’ve been to other 24 hr gyms that do it)
On the plus side the staff is friendly, always saying hey and stuff when you’re entering and exiting. The gym is also pretty clean as well. No problems with dirty or broken machines.
My only hang up is how tiny this place is. If you’re going in peak hours from like 6−8PM prepare to fight over a bench or free weights. It’s a mad house for real. I mean you are practically working out on top of each other, I’m actually surprised no one has died yet.
3 stars cause the gym is clean, what equipment they do have is maintained well, and the staff is pretty cool. It’s just small.
It’s also got a Lenny’s Subs right next door so if your skinny and tryin to get big grab yourself a manly cheese steak after your manly workout and enjoy being a MAN
