order the cold sub with fries french, bring it home, eat it, chew chew thirsty drink cold green tea … cold sub /​FF is a killer. Love it… order it some few time thru some months… love it.

We were desperate for a quick find after a long day with a two year old. This place was our refuge, Alena was fantastic with our daughter and put us at ease. Fantastic pizza! Definitely worth a try, if you dine in ask for Alena, she made our evening so much better.

My husband and I have been visiting Max’s since it opened and the service and food is excellent. They have the best pizza on the beach, wonderful homemade desserts and the friendliest owners and staff.
We have never had anything that was not fresh and delicious.

Portions are large enough for two people but leftovers aren’t ever a bad thing! The spaghetti was spicy sausage was delicious as was the lasagna entrée. I tried the German lager local brew that was delicious as was the Chardonnay (specific name slips my mind currently).
We went on a Sunday night and were rthe only people in the establishment. But that gave us the opportunity to have a more personal interaction with the staff and she was fantastic with our daughter. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody in the mood for great Italian food in the Outer Banks.

I decided to try something different. I got the Eggplant Parm and a Greek Salad. The Eggplant was so covered with sauce and cheese you couldn’t taste the Eggplant. When you could it tasted like it was frozen. But the salad was awesome. Best make I’ve had so far. But I got one little thing of dressing for it. Maybe the pizza is better but I still like Pizza Stop best for pizza.

This was an amazing surprise to my family on a cold, blustery Friday night in the middle of January. The appetizers and salads are plentiful and loaded with deliciousness. The pizza is loaded with whatever toppings you ask for, and it is a bit heavy/​rich.
We LOVED the bruschetta and the salads with fruit and brie.
The tables are fun and colored chairs around the restaurant give the atmosphere a vibrant and family friendly atmosphere.

This place has earned my respect! They make great pizza, have amazing, outstanding customer service; and top notch delivery! Best pizza on the Outer Banks!

Went here on a whim with my mom and future mother in law for lunch while at the beach! I ordered the caprese salad with tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil and balsamic. It was quite tasty! My mom had a grilled chicken salad. The waitress was friendly and very attentive to our needs. We got 4 salads and 4 drinks for about $ 45. The atmosphere was very beachy and focused on surfing. We will definitely be going back when we visit next!

We visit the Outer Banks every year… sometimes twice… and each time we come we have to eat at Max’s. Excellent pizza and excellent cheese sticks! :)

This pizza was pretty dang good, although the crust could have been a wee bit fresher. The toppings (sausage, pepperoni, hawaiian) were all tasty, and the sauce-​to-​cheese ratio was on point. An extra .5 stars because the ladies at the front counter were so nice, and gave us a bunch of parm and red pepper flakes to take home.

Friendliest cleanest and most delicious food I’ve had while eating out. It’s not fine dining, but the atmosphere and the owners are amazing people. They care about their product and their customers. Can’t wait to come back next year!

I tried to give this place 2 stars but can’t. The service was abysmal and aside from a decent small tossed salad, the food when we finally got it, was mediocre at best. We were a party of 8 and when we sat down we were one of only a handful of tables in the restaurant. Our server was perhaps filling in for regular staff because she was clueless. We waited for 10 minutes for our drinks while two employees stood behind a counter, only feet away, watching. It wasn’t until we walked up to the counter and asked for them that we were served (although she forgot the straws). Next our undercooked pizzas came out before the salads that we ordered were served. Then after reminding the server, the salads came. And then, one by one, after additional prompting she brought out the salad dressings, one by one. THEN we got our silverware. The last pizza never came (she forgot to order it) and as a consolation she offered my brother in law a beer (he doesn’t drink). Finally, a woman did come to the table offering apologies and some concession on each of our checks. Too little, way too late.

Great, locally-​owned pizzeria and Italian specialties restaurant. Most food is made in-​house by a Cordon Bleu-​trained Chef/​owner. Great service, great food, reasonable prices – what more could you want!

The restaurant itself was nice and clean. We had an average meal. The salad was fresh and the portion was decent. The mild chicken wings were really good, the best part of our visit. The white pizza was just okay, not much flavor at all. The waitress had no personality and was slow. We would try another pizza place before we go back to this one again.

Got the Greek salad it was huge! And very tasty with wonderful flavors with the salad dressing. Ordered the spaghetti with home made meatballs. Sauce was very fresh and flavorful. Generous portions, waitstaff very attentive to our needs.

I have to say this was authentic and fresh food. Our group of four ordered the Stromboli, calzone, lasagna and two salads. All were very tasty the dough on the pies was really good just the right consistency and cooked right. They delivered to us within about 25 min of ordering and the driver was very nice! I would recommend! However don’t order too much the portions are huge!

Super yum! Just had some great pizza and even better cannoli ‘s at max’s! The pizza is so so good! Homemade sauce and amazing toppings! And love that they grate their own cheese! No saw dust fake cheese! Leave room for dessert the cannolis are so dang good. Not those super sweet sugar junk-​real italian cannolis! Om gosh –just writing this is making want to go there and eat some GREAT food!!!

First time here. We found the service good; informative and answered all questions with knowledge of the menu. Salad was great. Homemade Vinegairette was delicious. Pizza was really good; haven’t had pizza in a long time and it was worth the wait. Perfectly cooked; crust was crispy and not soggy. Perfect amount of cheese and sauce.
Highly recommend.

The service and food here are simply fantastic!
Based on an online review, my husband and I ordered the mozzarella sticks to start with and we were really glad we did! Immediately we could tell these were homemade and not from a frozen bag.
Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, both of our entrees arrived at the table. I ordered the lasagna — the consistency, the rich flavor of the sauce and just enough cheese made it a truly outstanding dish. My husband had the pizza which he thought was absolutely delicious. The stone oven does a wonderful job on the crust — just the perfect char!
Overall we were very impressed with the quality of the food and the prices were very reasonable. I would definitely recommend Max’s Pizza to anyone visiting the Outer Banks. You will not be disappointed!

First of all I would give 0 stars but silly Unilocal requires at least one!
So, on to the food & service… this was the most disgusting food I’ve ever had in North Carolina. I got a chicken Caesar salad and the «Caesar» dressing tasted like candy with rotten fish and the salad itself was sour. Along with everyone else in my party not even liking their food either (we ordered a caprese salad with «fresh mozzarella, was not fresh at all & we ordered a sub but it was hot when we asked for it to be cold). Then we call up there to ask for Caesar dressing and they say we are stupid and deaf and boasting about James beard awards they’ve received (I was told to speak with the chef… who was very very very rude, along with his wife, who answered the phone). The wife told us that we did not know what we are talking about how we don’t know food and how they’ve been in food service for a long time (this restaurant opened in 2014…)
Overall: Poor food quality and very poor customer service. I don’t recommend it to anyone!!!
