Continental Plaza Hotel Kissimmee by Disney World

How this place got 2 ½ star hotel rating is beyond me since I’ve been to way better 1 ½ star hotels nearby, MLR and Econolodge both are better, less stars. Number one: no wifi in the room. U have to use wifi in the lobby! Bogus. No table or fridge in the room either. Weird old hotel smell. Only one soap. No coffee or coffee maker. Like 12 channels mostly news channels. Not even TLC or BET for crying out loud, oh and of course no wifi so I can’t use Netflix in the room.

There is SO MUCH WRONG; I don’t know where to begin.
«Continental Plaza Hotel» is the most elegant name I can imagine for a dump.
I waited one week to post my evaluation to be certain I didn’t imagine this nightmare. I will post pictures, hopefully with captions.
I’ve stayed in 100 – 200 hotels and motels, but this rates as the NUMBER ONE dumpiest establishment to date. This place could easily be named the «Little Havana Motel and Parking Lot», as a hotel it is not. English is a second language, with Spanish preferred.
Checking in early was a good thing, because it took about 2 hours to find a room slightly above 3^rd WORLD QUALITY. I felt odd walking into the lobby, which had seen better times, as if I might be looking for a Cuban hooker, but my reservations were non-​refundable.
It was a cold day, and the night was to become much colder. The first thing I did was to clean the dirty bath area with my own cleansers; but then, tried the heater … COLD. Maintenance was very prompt in responding; Eric was excellent in quickly diagnosing the A/​C unit as irreparable, and called the desk to request another room. After accessing several rooms, he found ONE where the heat DID WORK; so I gladly moved.
The beds were surprisingly new and comfortable; the first room’s were saggy and trashier than I’ve EVER seen, with ruts in the middle!
I’ll post pictures of the bathroom door transition … rough bare cement between carpet and very old tile. The better room had a door that would NOT close due to hitting a transition patch in the floor, so you’d better be mighty friendly with your roommate.
I’ve stayed in low quality places with dirty coffee makers, but this is the FIRST on the Kissimmee strip to have NO coffee maker at all. NO COFFEE in all rooms; amenities are hand soap, and a tube of cheap shampoo (see pic). Towels are worn well beyond need of replacement, and there is NO clean smell of bleach, which is common in the industry; they must be skimping on that too.
I have photos of outer doorways in the 2 rooms. The 1^st had no spring to close for security, which I’d also never seen. The 2^nd had wide gaps to see daylight — yes the door was actually closed in that picture. Bath doors were unclean; the second had what appeared to be dried blood on it. NO rooms have had, what is called a periodic «deep cleaning»; hence, the entire place is filthy!
I scoured all surfaces to be touched with bleach and had a good nights sleep.
There is NO REFRIGERATOR, and the one ice machine (charging 25 cents per shot) was broken. There IS a grocery store across the street for ice and snacks, and the location is excellent with a variety of restaurants.
I still never saw the pool towels they charged for (see photo). The «manager» joked that they were at the pool (which also doesn’t exist).
NOTE: The motel next door isn’t much better, just noisier.

Advertised to have free wifi, just to only have it in the lobby.
There’s no breakfast provided.
They promised free shuttle to attractions in Orlando, but it’s all scheduled in late morning (8:55 onwards) and return very early (18:00 for all, additional one at 22:00 for Disney) and only drive you to Epcot instead of all Disney World Parks.
Our room was supposed to be non-​smoking but the first time we entered the room we could smell cigarette immediately.

The hotel is really close to Disney World. I stayed here for three nights to have a day at each Disney Park. I tooks Ubers to and from the parks, which was between $ 8 and $ 11 a ride. For Magic Kingdom and Epcot I was picked up and dropped off at the Transportation and Ticket Center.
The hotel has its own gift shop, which is well-​stocked with Beanie Babies, an indication of how modern this place really is.
Nice staff, rooms were cleaned every day and new towels.
Room doors are on the outside of the building, is that what the difference between a hotel and a motel is? I only had a light blocking curtain (no sheer panels) which, when open, made me observable by passers by, so I never saw natural light in the morning, which is how I like to wake up. Really no big deal though.
Burn marks from the clothes iron on the ground were more comical than upsetting. A bigger problem, really the only one, were these metal pieces sticking out from the bed frame which were covered by the bed skirt. I whacked a shin on each of them before jamming the bed skirt under the mattress so I could see the buggers. I’m attaching a picture and taking off a half star for each bruise.
I saw not a single cockroach, nor smelled a single bad smell, and I was prepared to experience both based on previous reviews.
The A/​C worked gloriously. TV was old school (not flat). Everything else was completely and perfectly lovely for a hotel which cost me $ 27 a night.
They did charge me a $ 2.50 a day resort fee when I checked in, so you might keep that in mind. That’s kind of annoying since this is hardly a resort. But I never visited the pool, so perhaps that was actually paradise and deserved an extra $ 2.50 a day from me, for sheer magnificence.
Perhaps the resort fee was from the three pillows on each bed. Yes three! Three weird square pillows. No rectangle pillows here!
You’re also really close to a lot of food, fast food and restaurants. I love Bone Fish Grill and it’s literally next door.
Anyway, it was a good place to wash up and pass out after spending each day sweating at Disney World. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Just keep in mind that your expectations need to match the price you pay, and you’ll be happy here, too.

This is by far the WORST hotel I have ever stayed at. I came here for Disney World like most people and I am actually embarrassed at the fact that I stayed here. If I could give this location –5 stars I would. It smelled like roaches and wet towels, there was a big hole in my front door, everything was dirty, and there were bugs in the bathroom. The front desk workers had zero customer service, and spoke very little English. When we checked out we were asked if we needed transportation. I immediately asked if there was a charge and if it was free. Then I asked the driver if it was free multiple times. We were assured it was comped by the hotel. But when we got to Disney Springs, the driver who some very little English demanded money. When we called the hotel to resolve the issue, they hung up on me. Worst experience ever. This hotel should be shut down, or have new management.

What a disaster vacation! I’m not even going to waste my time with a review. I’ll list the problems instead:
1. Moldy walls
2. Broken shower adjuster
3. Moldy and wet carpets/​bad smell
4. Dirty towels
5. Really bad smell…
6. Prostitution and drug dealers in the area
7. Cold shower, heat did not work
We are sleeping the car tonight.

Sleepable if you don’t think about it. Not clean but not filthy. I was desperate and it was very cheap. Nothing special what so ever. But its not crawling with bugs.

It’s a clean bed and. Place to get dressed and shower, that’s it. They advertise free continental breakfast but there wasn’t any breakfast. Parking is bad and on my first night there I saw someone’s car had been vandalized with blue paint so I was a bit nervous being in a rental. My tub was not cleaned out so you will need to buy a can of scrubbing bubbles if you desire a clean tub. It’s a rust bucket falling apart but if you’re on a budget and don’t plan to be in the room then it’s okay. Just get back by 10 if you want a parking space. I didn’t see any roaches but someone wrote in a directory book that we in a roach motel.

booked on hotels .Com advertised as wifi, but it only exit in the lobby, Very disappointing, very dirty, looks like a scene from a horror movie with roaches and bugs, there seemed to be a unbearable stench. This place should never host tourist visiting Orlando. Don’t do it !

Do not come here. Roaches. Weird smell. Ugly exterior and interior. Very small pillows. Dirty walls and floors. Very dusty air conditioner. Out of condition ironing board and iron. TV older than me (25). Safe was open on our way back. We didn’t have anything thank goodness. They folded the sheets, but they weren’t cleaned, they were the same exact sheets. Furniture was decades old. Towels were painfully scratchy.
Obviously the owner of this poor miserable hotel didn’t care about it enough to invest money into making it better.
You’ve been warned.

Worst place I have ever seen– 1) unclean blanket with few Hairs I found on the bed 2) no paint well due to see mold in the showers ceiling 3) smelly room 4) carpet is torn. 5) rip off price! This room should be charge $ 40 not $ 119! I’m not impressed and will not coming back

My cousins and I booked a 4 day trip to Orlando through Expedia, and chose a $ 500 package with the hotel being the Continental Plaza. Free wifi was advertised, but when we got there we were told it was only available in the lobby. It didn’t work-​surprise! My cousin forgot her credit card and passport behind the desk after finalizing the booking with Yolanda (whom I assume was the manager) and upon returning to the lobby to retreive them, saw Yolanda was nowhere to be found. The girl at the front desk told us that Yolanda said she had called and told us she still had these items… THIS CALL DID NOT HAPPEN. But we shrugged it off as a misunderstanding and went on with our trip. Returning to the mouldy smelling room that night, we found a couple bugs in the bathroom that looked mysteriously like bedbugs, so we reported it to the front desk and were told someone would come inspect our room and that we would be moved to another first thing the next morning. Neither of these things happened. On our second night, we found ROACHES. Roaches! DISGUSTING. We caught one in a plastic bag and brought it to the front desk, where a man named Bob told us he would switch our room, which he did. We packed our things into the car and decided to give the new room a thorough inspection before officially moving in. Immediately upon entering, we saw another bedbug-​looking critter on the wall by the door, and took a picture to show the front desk. Behind the dresser was littered with dead roaches, and there was a HUGE dead roach curled into a corner behind the sink. We showed the maintenance worker who said that it wasn’t the staff’s fault because «people bring roaches into hotels» and began questioning if we had left food out, even though we hadn’t even spent more than five minutes in the new room. At the front desk, Bob claimed that he wasn’t a manager and had no power to give us our money back, and said he «did not know» the manager’s phone number. How can someone work alone at the front desk of a hotel without having a manager on duty, or at least a means to call the manager in case of an emergency? He refused to give us our money back, refused to help us find another hotel, and refused to tell us anything other than that Yolanda would be back on Monday. We later found out that 99% of what we paid for our package went towards our flight-​4 nights at the Continental had cost us $ 67 IN TOTAL. I guess you really do get what you pay for: unhelpful and incompetent staff, multi-​legged room mates, and probably Hepatitis. PLEASE do not stay here. The cost is not worth compromising your health!!!

Can Unilocal create a half star option? I performed the fastest check-​in/​check-​out in history. Saw this place on
for $ 33 a night so I thought score. Wrong! Wrong! The elevator going to the third floor smelled like melted crayons. The outside of the hotel is bland. You have to pay $ 0.25 for the ice machine which didn’t even work. But the room … oh my damn … the room was the worst ever. EVER! It was already occupied by the roaches. The smell was unbearable as heck. The phone didn’t work and when I put it down a Roach crawled out. Guess it disconnected the line for me LOL. So who should stay this place? No one or Meth heads! Do not stay here … it is really a Roach motel!

We just went to the Continental Plaza Hotel because we got in really early in the morning in Orlando, too early that we would be unable to check in to our hotel. Needing to freshen up after our red-​eye flight before spending the day in Disney, we chose them through Hotwire because of the low price.
With this in mind, we were only here for about an hour and a half. The room looked clean. The shower worked fine and the towels may be a bit scratchy, but they served their purpose quite well. The couple of hotel employees we spoke with were pleasant.
Would I recommend them? I saw no reason not to during our very brief stay.

Arrogant and not caring staff (Bob). Stay away!!!

The boyfriend and I planned a trip to Florida to visit Disney World and Universal Studios and booked this hotel through Hotwire. After we saw that they had a free shuttle to the theme parks and free WiFi, we checked up on the hotel photos and were convinced. Boy, was everything misleading.
Free WiFi is only in the lobby and the morning shuttle was late every morning and only left at a certain time. The shuttle was also only a 10 person van and there were tons of other families also waiting, so others who didn’t make it had to wait for the next shuttle.
We had two rooms and my room was fine but the other room smelled like smoke, had a dirty panty in the shower and roaches. The next morning when we went to tell the front desk there was a dirty panty in the shower he asked if it was ours. SERIOUSLY?! Why would we be complaining if it was our own underwear?! The safes were also broken in the room and they said they would send someone up to fix but no one ever showed up the 4 days we were there.
The toilets looked dirty and our pillows were half the size of normal pillows. We were glad the rooms had a stove and microwave though. One of the nights, the fire alarm went off for no reason and scared us half to death.
Lesson learned. Would definitely opt to pay more for a better hotel next time. Only good thing was that it was right across the street from a Winn Dixie and other restaurants and they referred us to a cheap taxi service.

ROACHES ROACHES ROACHES! Checked in at about 12am after a long day at the parks. The first room had at LEAST 15 ROACHES. in the bathroom, on the walls. We left the room immediatly and requested another room. As soon as we opened the door, roaches on the bed. We had to leave the hotel and go to another one down the road at 1am. Luckily Expedia’s customer service was excellent and I was able to get a full refund immediatly. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL. I know its cheap and close to Disney. It’s not worth it. We stayed at another hotel just about a mile away for only 10 dollars more. No roaches and clean. If there was a NO-​Star rating I would have given it.

@ $ 22 a night they offered more than I expected… If you just need the room to sleep this is a true giveaway…
The pool was extreamly clean I’m real picky when it come to my kids but I had no problem with them being in the pool for a couple of hours a day…
now the room on the other hand was just good enough for sleep and luggage storage I don’t think I would want to lounge around in there all day… Hotel staff was friendly, great location (192), Free Breakfast (I never cared to try the free breakfast but its offered), and wifi (only in the lobby)… All in all I give it 3.5 stars especially for that price…
