Amazing place!
After having terrible experiences with other waxing places (as in they left me with 2^nd degree burns) I was extremely hesitant about getting another bad wax job. I decided to go to a place that only did waxing.
Upon my arrival, I met with Madalynn and explained to her my sensitive skin issues and my nervousness about getting burned. She quickly put me at ease and them started to give me the BEST wax experience! Using baby powder, making sure the wax was the current temperature, and doing small sections at a time, I left Wax On with beautiful shapely eyebrows and little to no redness or irritation.
It was a little on the pricy side, but I won’t go anywhere else! I am a Wax On fan!

I have never waxed anything-​EVER! So when I went to get my first full Brazilian you can image how terrified I was for all aspects of it. I called and made a appointment with Maddy, and I am glad I did! She is very personable, and makes you feel comfortable! Although this was new and was nervous going into it, she didn’t make me feel awkward at all! AND does a great job the first time, I have now been going for over year because of my experience with her, when I thought it was going to be a one time thing to just try out! She is also very fast, and doesn’t miss a thing!!!
I have tried out one other place when it was a last minute thing, and walked out regretting not waiting it out to see her and learned my lesson.

I just visited wax on spa for the first time and Athena did a wonderful job waxing me. It can be hard to find a place that does a good job on a male Brazilian wax, but she did a great job and I would recommend her to anybody looking for a great feel down below!
Guys, if you are nervous about getting waxed you shouldn’t be, it doesn’t hurt whatsoever when the esthetician knows what she is doing! Give Athena a try, you will be glad you did!

Ladies (and gentlemen), Wax on Spa always provides quick and professional service. Particularly impressed with their Brazilian service. Not only did it take only 30mins and somewhat painless… they provide shea butter to calm the area and remove any residual wax, a warm towel to cleanse (and it just feels nice) followed by a «mask» to prevent ingrowns. Worth the $ 70 – 80. Superior service and Dawn is my girl!

Eyebrows! Need to start this review with the word «eyebrows.» Need to be clear. ;)
I’ve been a Wax On fan for several years and used to be a regular at the Fremont and Belltown locations. I recently moved to Kirkland, so I’m really happy they also have a downtown Kirkland location.
I usually call to ask about availability when I’m in the area for several hours and want to get a brow wax (~10-​minute service?), and frequently enough it works out. Some days they’re totally booked and that’s fine… I usually try again a different day.
Since I don’t have regular appointments with one employee, I haven’t been able to establish a relationship with one person (so I don’t even know any employee names). I think that’s perhaps more important with other waxing services because eyebrows aren’t as… personal. All the employees I’ve met so far have been nice and we’ve had at least one good random conversation during an appointment.
Service: My eyes always tear up when I get my brows waxed, but I feel like it hurts less or is somehow softer at Wax On (than at random nail salons). I’m always happy with the results and like the experience. Random nail salons usually charge $ 10 – 12 and I have no problem paying a little bit more ($ 15) to have a much better experience at Wax On.

I am a first-​time waxer. I have thought about it for a long time, but never took the plunge. I’m about to go to Maui, so I thought getting my back and shoulders waxed would make me look more presentable on the beach.
My only previous exposure to waxing was The 40 Year-​Old Virgin. It was nothing like that at all. The pain was very minor — more like mild discomfort than pain. Niki was very professional and very good about explaining the process. I love the look and the feel of having a hairless back for the first time in years. I’ll definitely be back.

Love this place. The service is great and they look pretty high quality products. They do it pretty fast so it saves time but yet it doesn’t feel rushed.
Conveniently located in Kirkland downtown and classy looking shop. One feels relaxed here.
One star off since it’s hard /​slow to find a reservation. Usually you cannot get it within next 3 days.

I had my first Brazillian wax at this place and saw Carly who – when it comes to waxing, is THE BOMB DOT COM!!! All joking aside, please believe me when I say that she is really good at her job. She was fast, professional and really personable. I had braced myself and was expecting a lot of pain, but to my surprise there was almost none which was amazing considering the fact that it was a jungle down there. Sorry for the TMI but you get my drift. I walked in and didn’t have an appointment but I was greeted quickly by one of the other estheticians and was treated with kindness and they were able to squeeze me in right away! I think I just got lucky because they’re usually busy in the mornings but everything was nice, easy and drama free – Just the way I like it. :)

Being a fan of Downtown Kirkland, I’d driven by Wax On Spa multiple times before actually going in. About 8 months ago, I got a REALLY bad brow wax at another salon and, because of that, had pretty much sworn off waxing as a whole. However, my caterpillar eye brows had other plans, haha. In addition, I’d always wondered about underarm & brazilian waxing. So I decided to bite the bullet and see what Wax On was all about.
I was booked with Lesley, who is AMAZING. Every appointment I’ve had with her has been fun, with funny conversations that are great for distracting from the task being performed. Upon our 1^st meeting, she explained exactly what would go down during my underarm wax and what results to expect after the initial wax and each wax going forward. After a few underarm appointments, we moved on to doing my brows as well. I’ve been extremely pleased with the results of both… and even more pleased with the significant reduction in my shower routine time, haha.
After some conversations, I finally dove in and had Lesley hook me up with a Brazilian, preceded by a shot of Tequila! And the results — 3 for 3! I have a pretty low pain tolerance so it was not a painless experience for me, but it wasnt nearly as bad as I’d built it up to be. It was mostly a quick, stinging sensation, which dissipates quickly. And the fact that I haven’t had to do any hair-​related maintenance for 4 weeks is soooo worth the few seconds of discomfort.
Basically, I can not say enough good things about Wax On. I definitely suggest a trip, whether you need some light maintenance or a full overhaul, you wont regret it.

I’ve been going to Wax on for about a year now. I make it a point to go on a Thursday and see Heather. She is so easy to talk to and does a great job. I am a *Brazilian* Girl through and through. She always does a great job and just recently I started doing my brows. She’s helping me to reshape the years of over-​tweazing for my wedding. They’re looking great after only 3 waxes, full, natural, and arched.
So: See Heather and suck it up and try a Brazilian. You’ve never felt so clean!

Went in for a Brazilian and it wasn’t bad. The chick who I had my appointment with was running behind a bit so I had to wait but overall I was satisfied with the job she had done. :)
Also, for best parking spots, try across the street where Jimmy John’s is and a bit up the hill.

I do really like Wax On in Kirkland, but will not go back to see Dawn specifically (I usually see Gina). I was a few min late (after calling) and she turned me away with a very poor attitude. I realize that these are quick appts, but i’ve been going to the Kirkland location for over 6 months (seeing others) and have never had to reschedule for being a few min late. I understand that this is a possibility, but it was really her rudeness that turned me off more than having to reschedule.
I will go back, but will not make an appt with her in the future.

Im a waxer. Wither im doing it myself or having it done. THAT HAIR HAS GOT TO GO! I absolutely hate shaving and shutter anytime I have to pull out that stupid razor. I almost had one of those moments last week where I had to pick up the razor because my regular waxing lady was gone and I hate the mess of doing it myself. (i tend to get wax everywhere including in the hair that i would like to keep on my head.) So instead I picked up the phone and got an appointment at Wax On Spa which I was referred to from a friend.
I had Stacey as my Waxing Diva she greeted me warmly and kindly escorted me into my room. Im a person who gets fidgety and jumpy when I get waxed and oddly I wasn’t like that. I donno if it was Staceys calm deminor and the fact that she kept me busy with humorous conversation or that she used baby powder rather than the pre wax liquid stuff but my legs were calm and relaxed. It was amazing, It didnt hurt at all.
I feel a little bad about kicking my other waxing girl to the curb but Stacey is my new waxing Diva! Shes even working on me about growing some balls and getting me to do a Brazilian as a surprise for the man! (and a present for myself of course ive been thinking about it for years.)

If you are like I was a couple years ago, wanting to try a Brazilian wax for the first time but absolutely terrified to take the plunge, here are my fool-​proof instructions for you:
1) Call Wax On in Kirkland
2) Make an appointment with Ruxandra on a Wednesday (try to ask for her latest appointment possible)
3) If you are able to score an appointment time either after work, or toward the end of your work day, just plan to take the rest of the day off
4) Plan to meet up with some friends for Happy Hour drinks in downtown Kirkland before your appointment (don’t know any friends in Kirkland? You can ask me, I will meet you for a drink!)
5) Have 2 or 3 drinks, then walk down to Wax On (conveniently located near various bars and restaurants!)
6) Once in the waiting room, you will be offered another «adult beverage» so if you still feel the need for a little something extra, have at it.
7) Relax!
After about a year and a half of going to Ruxandra for my waxes, I pretty much have it down to a science. For me, having a coupe drinks before my wax is essential. Not only because it totally dulls the pain, but because it just helps me to relax and not think about the fact that someone is staring at my you-​know-​what for an extended period of time :) But the great news is that once you find a good waxer, you really become SO much more comfortable with the whole experience, and Ruxandra is FAST so don’t worry about those horror stories you hear abut it taking an hour– eek! I seriously cannot say enough about her. She is a complete professional, and a great person as well. I used to do my own Brazilians– I’d get a bottle of wine and a scary movie and tough it out. I must say, I am sooo glad to have someone else doing them now! Be strong, make a date of it, and enjoy the results!

Yeah no. Went in to get my eyebrows done. After having wax strips pulled off of them, my eyebrows weren’t shaped. They were basically the same width across. I needed arch support. When I said I thought they could be edited, I was told otherwise. Even after the touchup, they still looked shapeless, and I didn’t feel like arguing. So I paid, left, and went to InSpa, where my brows were fixed.
**Update: Wax On contacted me and offered an apology and an opportunity to come see them again. I declined, but they were concerned with my experience.

The good: Several locations to choose from, the Groupon deal, the nail polish selection with brands like Zoya, the girls are typically friendly.
The not-​so-​good: the Kirkland location’s half-​walls that allow you to hear each and every word and noise emitted from any other waxing room (a little awkward), their scheduling can be a bit weird and hard to get a good time, the price is a bit much for the service. but really just the general lack of privacy is what gets me. It just feels very. open and exposed in there. If that’s your thing, then cool. You’ll love it.
I also didn’t think the waxing was done all that thoroughly. If you’re in Kirkland, go across the street to Soul Ease where it’s cheaper, more relaxing, and they take their time making sure you’re getting the best wax possible.

I bought two Groupons for this place, because every once in a while I need a Brazilian and they are expennnnnsive. The women who work here are very nice; the two who waxed me were probably both in their twenties, and they were cheerful and chatty the whole way through, but very professional. I never felt uncomfortable.
However, I wasn’t especially impressed with the actual wax. I got a partial Brazilian (basically everything but a large triangle on the mons pubis; I don’t like the fully bare look) both times. Their waxing method is hot wax with strips of fabric to pull it off (I personally prefer hard wax, but I’m not going to complain when a $ 70 procedure is only $ 35). After the wax they tweeze any stray hairs. Then you’re given some shea butter and a warm, wet towel to clean off.
I have a high tolerance for pain, and waxing usually doesn’t bother me. Both times, it HURT. Then the tweezing HURT. And both times, which pissed me off more than anything, the hair GREW BACK within a week. That isn’t supposed to happen. That is not the point of a wax.
So: Friendly, professional staff. And I like being able to clean up for myself after the procedure. But now that I’m out of Groupons, I’m not sure that I’ll return.

I decided to give this place a try after seeing WaxOn’s Groupon deal– and go for the more conservative bikini wax (someday, when I’m intoxicated enough and on Vicodin, I may try the Brazilian. someday). So, the day came, and Stephanie did the deed for me, and girrrrl, she was good! She made it quick, painless, and made me comfortable/​distracted by chatting with me. Didn’t have to shave for months and I was a happy camper :)
I came back a few days ago to use up the rest of my Groupon account, and got my brows done by the sweet Masumi. She asked how I wanted my brows to look, and made sure I was game for how she was going to shape it and clean it up. I love the results– she made sure my brows weren’t pencil thing, emphasized my natural arch, and trimmed it up.
I had to ding a star on this place only because WaxOn can be difficult to get a hold of on the phone– but they do return your call within a few hours. There’s parking everywhere (behind, by the marina or street parking, which is plentiful– in my experience)
Wax on, WaxOn!

I went in for the first time in 5 years for a bikini wax with the mentality that it will hurt, and I wont lie, it did hurt a little bit but Mariko was so nice! I had the best waxing experience ever, she as nice, the salon is cute, hip, cozy and CLEAN! I will definitely come back for more waxing here and the price is totally reasonable – I got an extended bikini wax for $ 55 and it was quick and nicely done!
Come a bit early though because parking is on the street and you need to find a spot, I don’t know if they have parking in the back or anything so you should ask when booking an appointment!
