She has endless energy as she truly loves what she does & feels a personality responsibility to make this once-​in-​a-​lifetime for her couples truly special.

Katy is a meticulous planner, but understands weddings are an emotional experience and clients (and their families) need support and patience. Katy quickly earns clients’ trust and puts them at ease, so they are able to enjoy the process & breathe a sigh of relief on the day.

Prior to joining the world of weddings, Katy worked in PR, marketing & corporate events for a Downtown Seattle firm. As an account executive for 6 years, she honed her people and event skills while serving a distinguished & demanding list of clients.

Katy is a graduate of Gonzaga University. Her passions include her husband, their dogs & travel

We first heard of VOWS through a friend in Oregon who is also a wedding planner. When first speaking with Katy, the owner of VOWS, she highly recommended Channy Sea to handle our wedding as Katy was in Hawaii for an extended period of time setting up their Maui office. We met with Channy and few other planners initially but were hands down the most impressed with Channy’s professionalism, punctuality, and ultimately her ability to listen. While some brides thoroughly enjoy planning their wedding, I found myself overwhelmed with the thought and knew I needed help. We hired Channy to help with everything from day one and she was a gem to work with. One of my requirements in hiring a wedding planner was finding someone that would keep my now husband and I on track but not overwhelm us with day-​to-​day details. I was studying for an exam and needed my space but also knew I had to get things done. Channy was amazing and created a whole timeline checklist up until the wedding day which included rearranging to-​dos so that tasks would not interfere with my studying. Throughout the year, Channy handled all communication with vendors and was quick to answer any questions or concerns we had. She negotiated all contracts and kept our budget up to date as the year progressed and as plans changed. When the big day arrived, it was such a relief to not have to think about all the details because I knew Channy was on top of every minute of the day. When we arrived to the venue, the place looked perfect, and the whole day progressed smoothly. We even had friends comment on how easy the day was and how nice it was for them to enjoy the wedding and not be tasked with a responsibility for the day. At the end of the night Channy was there to shut down the wedding and make sure all rental equipment was collected and any misplaced belongings were gathered and brought home with someone. We cannot speak highly enough of Channy and VOWS. Thank you Channy for everything!!!

Hiring Vows was the best decision we made for our wedding! Katy is so knowledgable and actually made our wedding planning experience completely enjoyable. Katy keeps track of all due dates and our timeline so we were able to relax and just enjoy! I would recommend Katy and VOWs to my closest friends and family — without a doubt!!!

My wife and I did a lot of our own planning up front, we just needed a superstar to help with execution on the day of the wedding. Out of pure luck, we found VOWS and met Amber who would be our coordinator for the day. We could not have asked for a better «team captain» on our vendor dream team. Not only was the execution flawless, but she helped me and my wife stress out a lot less as the big day approached. Although we hired her as a day of coordinator, she did a lot more in the days leading up to the wedding.
We felt very comfortable with Amber. Our interactions with her were more like that of a trusted friend than a vendor. Above all she was professional, easy to interact with, and she pulled off a spectacular event!

Channy Sea from VOWS wedding is so awesome. She is a great communicator that learned well about our needs throughout the wedding planning process. She is so experienced that she can give us multiple examples or suggest vendors to meet our specific needs. She is a hard worker too, always on time, sunny or rain, weekday or weekend. Overall, Channy make the wedding planning process easy and relaxing. At the wedding day, Channy and her assistant organized everything so well that my family and guests were all so satisfied. There must be hassle and problems without her help. The money we spent on her is definitely well worthwhile.

Throughout our wedding planning process, all my family and friends kept telling me that I was the calmest bride ever and they were waiting for me to have a meltdown. A few weeks before the wedding, I think my inner circle was preparing for the epic bridezilla moment, and then the days before and finally the day of, but it never came, and I firmly believe it is because I had absolutely nothing to worry about. Amber Sooter was an absolute dream to work with and everything you would want in a planner… she has excellent communication skills, is meticulous in the best possible way and was readily available to talk via phone, text or email if you needed a question answered, wanted advice or an opinion or had some vendor correspondence you wanted her to handle. Amber is thorough, and makes it clear that she is there to help make your big day into the dream you always envisioned.
My husband and I were so pleased with the package we chose, and even happier that we hired Amber to coordinate the best day of our lives.
If you want someone who is always on your side, experienced and well known with many local vendors and in our opinion, simply the best coordinator out there, then you can’t not hire Amber!

Without a doubt, my wedding day would not have been as successful, smooth or effortless without the help of Channy Sea.
From our initial meeting over coffee, I immediately felt comfortable with Channy and knew I’d be in good hands with her. Channy was my Day/​Month-​Of Coordinator, which meant I handled the planning of my wedding and about a month out, she jumped in to help. She reviewed all of my vendor contracts, plans and finalized our timeline, making strong suggestions on areas I could improve upon. She also handled all of the remaining communication with my vendors and joined me on my final meetings with my venue, photographer and florist, which was invaluable.
Most importantly, Channy granted my husband and I, our parents, and wedding party the luxury to be able to relax and enjoy every moment of our wedding day — and the weeks leading up to it.
Channy was a pure joy to work with throughout the entire process and most especially on the day itself. She made sure the entire day ran seamlessly and we didn’t have to worry about a thing. My bridesmaids and many guests actually commented on how well organized, fun and beautiful the day was.
I couldn’t recommend Channy and the VOWS team more highly! They are worth every penny!

Channy was an excellent choice for our daughter’s wedding where more than half the guests were from out of town.
She managed the long distant issues and handled wedding day mishaps with grace and efficiency. Her smile and calmness in the face of anxiety allowed my husband and myself to enjoy every minute of our daughter’s special day. Without a doubt her organization and execution of our plans was commented on by guest and family as being one of the best weddings they’ve ever been to. I met with 2 other wedding planners before I met with Katy, and after our initial meeting, I knew she was the one. I went with the O package since I had no idea how to plan a wedding. She personalized a timeline for me to follow and gave me great suggestions for vendors. I really appreciated her honest input on things and being extremely organized (since I am not). She also arranged and came to my meetings with each vendor and knew what questions to ask for me. She was on top of things, which made it less stressful.
My wedding day flew by and went smooth as ever. Her assistant was so sweet and extremely helpful. We had a mishap with the cake being the wrong color, but Katy kept me calm and had lighting shine on my cake to make it better. I was impressed with her taking care of issues that arose.
I would definitely recommend everyone to have a wedding planner. At least have one for your wedding day. I honestly don’t know how I would’ve done it without Katy and her team!

My fiancé recommended getting a wedding planner and I was completely hesitant to the idea. Professionally I work with vendors daily and I have zero patience for someone not doing their job 100%. I knew if I was going to have a wedding planner it had to be a perfect fit. After an introductory phone call with Katy to discuss ideas, timeline, etc. I knew she was going to be great… without question! We decided to handle most of the initial points and had Katy attend to the final details and lead the event from 8 weeks out.
What Katy did for us…
— provide amazing contacts and recommendations for every vendor needed
— consistently kept in touch throughout the early planning process, even though she wasn’t obligated to with our chosen contract
— attended all meetings and was on time if not early
— responded quickly with all requests
— provided advice and suggestions to make our day special and unique and was never pushy
— day of was an asset to keep us calm and handled EVERY detail

Channy is extremely organized and proactive, plus she is a delight to work with. I was so impressed that she handled so many things at once as we were on a short timeline, allowing me to relax and enjoy the fun parts of planning a wedding. Her professionalism really shined on our big day when we had a fiasco with alterations on my dress (she worked some serious magic with double-​stick tape!) I met with 2 wedding planners and immediately felt like Katy was the best fit. I then introduced my daughter to her and she agreed.
Hiring VOWS and Katy was a great decision. She quickly caught our vision and referred us to vendors who were great and allowed us to stay within those portions of our budget.
I wanted to do quite a bit of DIY and she trusted me to do that, but made sure I was on track. I am sure lots of people say they are going to DIY and never do it.
As we neared the wedding day, she proved really valuable. Her communication was excellent and we had detailed lists of all activities starting when people arrived on Thursday night. We had a large bridal party and she pleasantly kept everything very orderly.
She manages even the smallest details beautifully and as a result we were able to enjoy our daughters wedding to the fullest. Thank you Katy and VOWS.

I recently hired Katy to help plan my Maui wedding at the Olowalu Plantation House… and I am certainly glad I did!
As an event planner myself, I know how important hiring a wedding planner is for your own big day. Without Katy there on my wedding day I would have been one seriously stressed out, micro-​managing, high strung bride. But I could relax and truly enjoy the entire day because I knew every last detail was being taken care of – Katy was on it! She is extremely detailed, always thinking 3 steps ahead, ensuring a plan is going to be executed just how you want it to. She is very quick to respond to every request — even when I didn’t expect to hear back for a few days, I would get a reply within an hour.
Katy is also a great resource for planning a Maui wedding. She has wonderful vendor contacts and referrals, and really knowledgeable about the Island, venues and activities. It was great working with someone who lives in my hometown (of Seattle) because we could meet in-​person, and we were in the same time-​zone. She was also great about being in contact on-​Island, easy to get in touch with, and really seemed «on-​call» for the few days leading up to the wedding.
If you are looking for an amazing wedding planner, you have found one with Katy!

Katy and the VOWS staff were great to work with! Best decision we made about planning our wedding!
Before planning my wedding, I was on the fence about hiring a coordinator because I was unsure of the value one would provided. We met with Katy and instantly understood the service and expertise that she could provide. She talked with us about our vision for our day, the types of things we’d need to think about, and how she could help ensure we stayed in budget and were paired with the right vendors. We decided to hire her on-​the-​spot!
Not only did Katy and the VOWS team get ALL of our bases covered before the day, but the service VOWS provided on the day of my wedding made my dream wedding possible.
We had a private home wedding with over 20 vendors. As the bride, I didn’t have to coordinate, greet, or help set up anything from any of the vendors the whole day. I got to enjoy being pampered and spent time with my mom and bridal party, rather than running around. Not only was it the perfect event, but it was the perfect day! I got to enjoy being the bride!!!

We recently worked with Katy for our planning our wedding that happened in August. We had a wonderful experience with VOWS. Katy had her work cut out for her: between me, my fiancé, and my mom, there were several different style opinions to contend with. She helped us work through this at our vendor meetings. We loved working with all of the vendors that Katy recommended. We even still get cakes from our bakery!
On the day of the event, Katy was very professional, and helped keep things on schedule. Since many of our guests were coming from out of town, it was wonderful and stress-​free for us to have some one taking care of set up, vendor deliveries, and clean-​up.
We had interviewed several different wedding planners before hiring Katy. We ultimately decided to go with her because of her broad level of experience planning events. We are very glad that we did! Our guests are still giving us many compliments on how beautiful our wedding turned out!

This review is for Stephanie who is now working for VOWS after having her own event planning company. If you read the review by Jennifer F., that is my daughter. Every word she says about Stephanie’s skills is the truth. Her organization and attention to detail made the day run so smoothly for my daughter’s destination wedding in Cancun, Mexico. As we began planning the event and I got to see her work ethic and organizational skills, I was very comfortable relying on her expertise. We even had her help with Jennifer’s engagement party, which was held in Seattle at Alki Beach. The decision to take her with us to the destination wedding in Mexico was a «no-​brainer»! While we were in Cancun, she supervised every detail which left me free to enjoy the celebration. I would definitely recommend Stephanie to any mother of the bride who wants their daughter’s special day to be perfect!

This is a review for Stephanie who is new to VOWS. She’s had her own event planning company for many years, and we were lucky enough to get to work with her when we got married in 2008. Yes, I know that’s a long time ago but she made a lasting impression ;)
My husband and I were married in outside Cancun, Mexico at a resort that we had never visited. The on sight management offered wedding coordination services, but as we had never been to the venue before and hadn’t met the staff in person, we didn’t feel comfortable relying on them to coordinate our big day. I’m am SO VERY GLAD that we had Stephanie helping us orchestrate the day.
Our wedding had 60 attendees flying from various airports across the country. The festivities lasted for four days. There were six bridesmaids and groomsmen. There was the whole language barrier and the sourcing of vendors in an international venue. In short — it wasn’t a simple event. But it went off looking like it was!
Many, many friends said that it was the most beautiful wedding that they’ve attended and that was predominantly because of Stephanie. Sure I have good taste — but she helped bring it all together. And having her actually at our event (yes we paid extra for that, but it was well worth it) was a godsend. I spent my entire wedding day enjoying myself, as did my mother. I’ve been to many, many weddings and it is a rare thing for a bride to be able to look back on the day and say «how relaxing». But it really was.
Stephanie is amazing and I recommend her without reservations. Don’t look anywhere else!

Katy was awesome! She has a great grasp on current wedding trends and will tell you how it is, which is why I picked her out of the 6 other wedding planners that I interviewed. Her skills and our NEED for her really came to surface the week of the wedding. The week of our wedding she went as far as speaking with all wedding party members and immediate family to tell them to «leave the bride alone» and to call her cell with ANY wedding questions. And of course after the wedding my dad told me of the ONE issue that could have turned into a disaster that Katy handled without ANYONE (even the effected guest) even knowing.
Almost three months after our wedding we are still getting compliments and how smoothly everything ran and I definitely owe that to Katy and her assistant. If we were to get married again (to each other!) we’d definitely use Katy.

I own a limousine company so I understand that the vendors’ job on the wedding day is to take away any of the stress involved in what is probably the most important day of your life.
I’ve seen Katy do her thing and when she does the wedding just flows. Without a wedding planner, or putting your best friend in charge (cruel), letting mom handle things (big mistake — she’s controlled your life enough already), or expecting a DJ or photographer to do double duty, weddings can turn from celebrations into nightmares.
And DON’T leave things up to the photographer. Let them do their job and they’ll do it well. Wedding planners make all the vendors better and every wedding party member enjoys the day more because the planning and the bustling is done for them.
This is the day you’ve been waiting for since the day you met your soul-​mate… having someone like Katy take the reins is worth every penny. In fact, I’d say if you have to cut budget somewhere go with a sedan instead of a stretch limo but do NOT forget about a wedding planner.
