Stage 7 Pianos

Great store! The store owner, Kenn, had tuned my piano wonderfully and gave me a very reasonable price. Aside from the tuning, they have very nice and beautiful pianos with reasonable pricing as well. The staff are very nice and know what they are talking about. The store owner is a very nice man with a great passion for music and pianos. In the stage room, they have the pianos they are selling and they have a nice stage set up I believe can be used for many different types of performances. I will recommend Stage 7 to anyone looking for any help that has to do with pianos and I plan on coming here with any more piano help I need as well.

I came into this warehouse space with my son after speaking with Tom on the phone who knew I was dropping by to look at a baby grand Yamaha that was manufactured in 2009. They were having their spring special which was free piano moving with a purchase. When we came in there was nobody to greet us for a full ten minutes so we milled around and visited with the pianos on the showroom floor. I called the office line and nobody answered despite voices and laughter coming from a back room. They were playing and talking to their dog which I could clearly hear. I finally had to walk back there and ask them if someone was available to assist us and when they saw me there was oddly no apology or greeting or even a smile which I thought was strange. I reminded them that I spoke to a tom and only then did tom introduce himself. It took about fifteen minutes of looking at and playing the baby grand to decide I was going to purchase it and Tom told me he and his partner who was the owner would take off the tax if I went ahead and paid for the piano moving myself which was their spring special as aforementioned. I agreed but I thought it was odd that they agreed to take off tax instead of the moving since tax would’ve been undoubtedly much more. It felt off to me but I was happy that they were willing to give me a good deal despite not taking anything off the ticket price for the piano itself which I paid a hefty 7,000.00 for up front and out of pocket. This is a bit pricy when factoring in piano moving which is usually a courtesy and for a used piano from 2009. However, I felt it was worth it because it was guaranteed to be made in Japan since it was a Yamaha baby grand with all corresponding parts and brochures detailing so. I knew Yamaha upright pianos were made in other Asian countries like Indonesia but Tom assured me that my Yamaha was made in japan. It was only after it was moved into my home that I saw the made in Indonesia sticker which was right there on the left side of the baby grand! To make matters worse, the movers from pro piano move (a guy named helge who had been working with stage 7 pianos for many years) had brought two other guys to help move this piano and who were not courteous at all about having to place down blankets or remove their shoes in my home. I felt disrespected in my own home! One of the movers was so immature and unprofessional that he was snickering and giggling in my direction the entire time he was in my home. I had newly laid carpet so I wanted to make sure they respected that and did something to ensure my home wouldn’t be sullied while they were carrying out their service. But they really did not appreciate asking to either wear booties over their shoes, take off their shoes, or put down the sheets that they had brought specifically for that purpose. I was appalled that anyone doing a paid service would be rude to a customer in their own home. It was so beyond reproach that I just waited until they left to inspect my piano and I actually moved it a bit myself to position it better. I felt uncomfortable asking them to do so after the way they reacted when asked to take off their shoes. Finally, one of the movers declined my credit card and asked me to provide a check or cash and because I hadn’t gone to the bank yet and my last check in my checkbook had been used (I just closed in a new house recently and had written so many checks that I just needed to reorder), the mover seemed understanding and made me sign a slip saying I owed them 200.00 which I readily agreed to. I told them that if it was easier, I would either have them bill me or bill stage 7 pianos since I can also drop back there to pay in person. Whatever would be easier. The mover agreed and left. Days later, Tom from stage 7 called and without even a proper hello or how are you enjoying your new piano, he immediately told me that he was billed by the movers and that I should’ve paid them directly. Even when I explained that I was ready to pay with card, tom went on in a heated fashion that I would lose my free tunings from stage 7 pianos. After he said that, I told him not to contact me again and to let the movers contact me directly for payment. I also told him I was fine with relinquishing my free tunings because I felt that it was stupendously shocking to receive such treatment when I just dropped 7,000.00 on their business and they were going to threaten me with no free tunings just because I couldn’t use a credit card to pay immediately for a 200 dollar moving few which was a courtesy anyway? I was already upset that the movers were so unprofessional and that the piano had a made in Indonesia sticker on it but this phone call pushed me over the edge to write this review. A word to the wise, Tom, if you ever read this, don’t jump immediately to wrong conclusions and use threats on customers who spend Thousands of dollars on your used pianos. It is a good way to earn a negative online review.

Great people! I have used them twice for tuning and repairs on an old piano — good prices and service. They have a venue in the back that local music schools use for performances, and they sell refurbished pianos. The owner is very passionate about what he does!

Came here for an event — it’s an awkward space, and you have drinks and food next to pianos with signs that say clearly «do not put your food or drinks on the pianos» but they’re there… and alcohol… Aaaargh.

Purchased a piano from Stage7Pianos. Helpful staff, prompt service, all questions answered, great communication, an eagerness to help. The piano is beautiful and sounds great, and came at a great price. Very happy.
