Jordan River Moving & Storage

All my items were delivered safely from Washington to Arizona. I was a little «meh» with the foreman who oversaw my items being packed. He wasn’t terrible, but did not inform me of what was going on and was slightly standoffish. The helpers were GREAT.
Delivery of my items was wonderful. The team of two, led by Dragon, was on point and fast. They were so kind and helpful.
The office staff, Emily and Nicole were also great.

DO NOT USE!!! We trusted them with our cross-​country move from WA to AZ and they pawned us off on a moving company with terrible reviews and horror stories all over the Internet. Our move turned out just as horrendous and stressful as many others have experienced. We are not the first to complain about this, yet they continue to send business they land to this other company. Now they claim no responsibility!!!

I’ve moved several times and this is by far the worst moving experience I’ve gone through. I never leave Unilocal reviews but this was so bad I have to warn other moving customers.
Facts:
1) Have been without furniture for 2.5 weeks
2) Guy who sold me the move on phone said even with a 14 day move window, my stuff would most likely be delivered in a week
3) I let the company know my building doesn’t allow move-​ins on weekends, yet it was somehow my fault that I couldn’t receive a Sunday delivery (day 14 of course)
4) I have an email saying they typically charge $ 750 per day for moves received after the first 14 day window is «missed» (how am I, as the customer, «missing» a move???). Also, the FIRST, time I’m ever hearing of such potential charges. They didn’t charge but it was supposed to framed as hey, we did you a favor. Yeah right! I’ve been sleeping on the floor for 3 weeks now!
5) A lot of after-​payment info was verbally communicated to me — ie new stuff I was unaware of — and generally excuses are made when customer satisfaction should always the primary goal.
6) Finally on delivery day, they’re 2 hours late. I booked the elevator for 5.5 hours, hope they can move everything in 1.5 hours.
The only thing they were good at was pick up and load.
Everything else, (1) Customer service, (2) getting your move done expeditiously, (3) being on time, all bad bad bad.
Such minimum level stuff you think a moving company wants to Ace to get repeat and referral business.
Use your money elsewhere. This was such a bad purchase.

We were connected with JR movers via our real estate agent. Mata and his crew were FANTASTIC. Very VERY nice guys, and they treated all of our stuff with great care.
They showed up ON TIME. And they helped us move out of our 3 story town home, and our storage unit. They were never careless with our belongings, and were eager to make sure that everything was placed exactly where it needed to be.
Man I can’t say enough good things about these guys. I’ve got them punched into my phone now. I’ll be a repeat customer and, I’m going to recommend them to everyone I know that’s looking to make a move…
The crew that helped us was professional, punctual and careful. What more could you ask for?

Avoid avoid avoid.
Our moving company (Ben Hur LA) contracted with Jordan River. Saul was the foreperson in charge of the unloading.
It was a nightmare from beginning to end.

Saul was threatening and intimidating and his crew inept.
I actually felt scared when he got in my face. Absolutely unacceptable.

Terrible service… they took forever to move my tiny one bedroom apartment. which should of took an hour, took three. Will not be using them again in the future.

We did an interstate move because we had a Passport «discount» and got a recommendation to use these movers, but in the end they cost us a lot more. While they labeled all the rooms and the packing was decent, they lost and wrecked some expensive electronics and furniture during the move. Even though they promised to ensure our stuff against damages, we were totally gypped and were not expensed for our damages. They also didn’t complete the job they had guaranteed on unpacking, which we had paid extra for, because they didn’t budget the time correctly — causing all sorts of scheduling and logistical problems and leaving debris for us to clean up. A move that was meant to occur in a week took 3, stranding us without furniture for weeks and forcing us to replace several pieces due to all these errors. Would never use them again for a move.

Excellent movers in Kirkland area. They arrived on time and worked very efficiently. The team went out of their way to accommodate a few requests that we had. The time wad quoted accurately, in fact we got the refund few weeks after the move since they were able to complete in less time than originally quoted.

I’ve used Jordan River for several moves and storage in the last few years. In particular, I worked with Sheena Silva. Sheena was always readily available to offer assistance and was very helpful when my moving dates needed adjustments.
The movers were very courteous and went out of their way to accommodate some special needs on a moment’s notice.
Also, it was very assuring that my costs did not change upward — if anything, they adjusted downward. With all the stories out there about moving companies being so dishonest, it has been great knowing they have always been a stand-​up company for me to use.

I have moved countless times over the years due to my job, and this was by far the worst, most stressful move, and it was only from Eastgate to Redmond. I gave two stars, primarily because they did a good job quoting me accurately and it took the amount of time they said it would and was the same price they quoted. However it was a huge hassle because they completely forgot everything on my outdoor patio, and then when I asked them about it, they said it was because I didn’t do a good enough job packing it up. I didn’t think a large gas grill was something I could pack in a box, let alone outdoor dining chairs and a table. They went back to go get it, but it was a few days later, and I had to pay rent for that whole time. When they went back to get everything else, they ended up taking a built in shelf that was installed in the laundry room by the landlord, and did not belong to me, and had to go through the hassle of returning it to my landlord, which was tough, because it didn’t fit in my car. My landlord had to go and pick it up herself. Gives me heartburn just thinking about it, so will be using a different company next time.

I used Jordan River moving for my last move in March 2014.
Overall the service was below average.
Experience with booking and finding a time slot was good. They were courteous and professional. They were clear on rates and charges. There were no hidden charges.
Had problems on the day of the move.
Guys that came seemed half asleep — yawning. They were visibly tired.
Only one person could understand english — it caused confusions.
One of them spilled a full glass of coffee on driveway — and I am sure it was not accidental.
They almost broke my expensive elliptical machine — careless.
Worse — they left their packing tapes and supplies all over the place, including two moving blankets.
I was contacted for post service survey — I provided same feedback as here. They replied back saying they will send someone to pick the blankets and send $ 25 gift card as courtesy — never happend. I still have the blankets somewhere in my garage I think :-)

Can’t ask for better Servise and the most important any thjng they promise they do. Can’t find allot off company like this one. I recommend this company %100 .!

Best movers we’ve ever used and we’ve moved a lot. These guys are good! I know they were extremely busy and I practically begged them to move us and I’m glad I did. Their estimate was right on and they were very responsive. From their Ops manager to the receptionist they were helpful, knowledgeable and polite.
From the time Rogelio and his crew showed up @ 8:30 until they waved goodbye @ 11:15 pm they were courteous, careful and very professional. I have never seen movers work that hard or carefully. Every detail was looked after. The packing was more than adequate, no skimping. All of the furniture was carefully wrapped with moving blankets and taped for protection. The truck was loaded efficiently and arrived with everything marked and organized so that the unloading was efficient.
Ours was a double move, one move into a storage unit and the other to our new home. I wasn’t sure they could get it done in a day, but Rogelio was confident and made it happen. These guys were running back to the truck at the end of the day to get the job done as soon as possible.
I can’t say enough good things about this company.

We used JR about 4 yrs ago with little issues. Just recently we used them to move back to WA and the experience was horrible. Moving is stressful, but having to deal with contractors hired by them elevated the stress level. Items were mistreated and missing and they couldn’t find it. Many were not labeled all so I can see how they would lose our stuff. Not only that but the car transport company they work with are very unprofessional and JR told us they couldn’t help us we had to call them directly. Moving expenses were over 7000 we would have hoped to have better customer service all around. If you can don’t move with this company. It has been the worst moving experience. We are military and in 20 yrs have never come across such a troublesome move. Save your money and spend it elsewhere.

i have now used Jordan River a few times and always will turn to them. They were so flexible in adjusting my move dates. Sheena was fabulous to work with. The guys on the day of the move were very efficient. i had to make them take a break to eat lunch as they wanted to keep working. I would suggest them to anyone who needs a local move for sure. My sis in law has used as well.

I used Jordan River Movers twice for local moves in Seattle. They were great. The Seattle crew did a good job so I thought I could use them again for a long distance move. That was a big mistake!
They were 3 days late. The driver wanted to unload the truck BY HIMSELF. I had to repeatedly tell him that I have big, heavy antiques. It took 3 guys to pick up my things and there is no way he could do it by himself.
My things were very carefully packed when JRM picked them up, I watched them load everything yet, many things arrived broken or damaged.
I recommend NOT USING them for long distance moves. Also, they don’t accept credit cards at delivery.

I used a company based in LA for my move to Seattle, WA. They contracted this company for the end delivery. My experience with Jordan River Moving was appalling. They chose the delivery date, and without confirmation proceeded to deliver it. I hadn’t confirmed the delivery and due to this was not on-​site when they showed up with the truck. A few days later I called them to confirm a new time and they were incredibly rude, saying that I lied to them and inconvenienced them. Because of this they would be charging me a second delivery fee of $ 450. I had no missed calls or voicemails from the first delivery attempt, and had never confirmed the delivery window. It is incredibly unprofessional when I speak to the manager, Shawn, in a polite manner and he responds to call me a liar and is overall incredibly condescending and rude. To top off the awful service, when they did complete the delivery the delivery guys were unprofessional and creepy with my roommate who accepted the delivery for me. She was in the apartment by herself with 3 delivery men. It is unbelievable that they thought that an appropriate time to try to get a date or number.
OVERALL: Terrible service, unprofessional, and I would strongly suggest going with another moving company!

This is the second time we book with Jordan river. I am very dissatisfied with their service. We have tons of furniture they only sent three men! It took them 12 hours!!! They do this on purpose to rip you off and charge you more. If you know you have lots of furniture you need to tell them to send you more guys. This is ridiculous I felt bad for the movers they got so tired !
I am going to call and complain big time. The movers got tired and scratched the wall and scratched the furniture too. Make sure to let the person on the phone know if you have more furniture and you need more people.

I am seasoned «professional» on moving. This is the first time that I used Jordan River Moving. My move was Seattle to rural PA. The load in Seattle was flawless. The guys wrapped and cared for everything. I just sat back and let them do the work.
The delivery into PA has been challenging, but truly not at the fault of Jordan. Rural PA is full of small crowded streets and road construction. Jordan comes with a HUGE 18-​wheeler to deliver your items, no matter how much «stuff» you have. When you sign your paperwork you sign off that you will pay extra for Jordan to shuttle your items to your house. For us that was an extra $ 350. There was nothing that could be done to get that truck down our street. BEWARE OF THIS. KNOW THIS BEFORE!
Our solution was to rent a u-​haul ourselves and pay another guy to help us unload it. Some money, but not as much. The driver for Jordan was lovely. This was our issue for not reading the fine print and knowing what our street looked like. Do your homework.
I am altering my review of Jordan River and demoting their stars from 4 to 2. This was SUCH a CLUSTER F*!K. We got our u-​haul (which all our things fit into a 14ft) and our things were stripped of the protective padding and semi repacked. Once that was complete my husband and the guy that the Jordan driver hired drove the u-​haul to our house and THEY unloaded it. The driver LEFT.
We did not get our things placed in their rooms.
We did not get our bed put back together.
We did not get our dining room table or hutch or desk put back together.
They did NOT fulfill the remainder of their contract.
We spent $ 70 for the u-​haul
We spent $ 100 for the «helper»
My husband lost 4 hours of work.
The Jordan River driver shorted the amount promised to the guy they hired (so he said)
Now we will spend the weekend putting our things back together that Jordan took apart. Just hope all the pieces are there.
They started off great. LOVED them in Seattle. Their dispatch team was great. At our destination point where I needed them to be aces, they failed.
I believe they owe me money for not completing the move.
Face it, moving sucks. I won’t be using them again for a distance move. Perhaps in the city of Seattle only.

This is my 15^th move and by far the best. It was the FIRST time movers showed up when they said they would. They parked the truck, opened the doors, and did not stop moving until my apartment was empty and the truck loaded. They move quickly, but carefully, wrapped all our wooden furniture, put blankets down on the floor, and asked when there was a question about an item. On the other end, they were just as efficient and careful with our items.
JR was the third company I called. The first two were highly rated on Unilocal,but seemed like hacks when I spoke with them. One guy wanted to shove my boxes through an upper floor window, told us that anything that didn’t fit on the truck we’d have to move ourselves, and gave us an estimate $ 300 higher (I’m not kidding).
When I called JR, the front office staff was professional and courteous, they emailed me an estimate with all the details we discussed, gave us a choice in moving dates, and called the day before to confirm. I liked that Jordan River had a set amount for travel time, they sent three guys (when other companies were only going to send two), and bill in 15 minute increments rather than ½ hour.
I don’t understand the uneven posts for this company… may need a better management, communication, or training system.
We could not have been more pleased with the service.
