History

Established in 1992.

Our Executive Chef, Mark Carter, has been in the industry for decades. After graduating from culinary school in 1994 and extended stints at the Seattle Yacht Club, Bellevue Red Lion and the Bellevue Club, he opened Design Perfect Catering with his wife, Daina. Over the years, Mark has become well-​known for his sauces, soups and fine art of beautifully displayed food. It doesn’t matter if it is a backyard BBQ or a five-​course plated dinner, he takes pride in every event and every dish he prepares. Mark truly enjoys going to the market and handpicking fresh produce, fish and quality products.

Our Executive Chef, Mark Carter left the Seattle Yacht Club in 1994 to open his own catering company with is wife. Over the years Mark has become well known for his sauces and fine art of beautifully displayed food. It doesn’t matter if it is a back yard BBQ or a 5 course sit down dinner he takes pride in every event. He loves going to the market and hand picking fresh produce, fish and quality products.

My now husband and I kind of chose DP Catering out of the blue (and based on some 2012 favorable reviews) to cater our wedding this August. We went with a mix of seafood and tropical menu items… and we were absolutely impressed. Everything was good, really good in fact. Our guests commented on the quality of the food numerous times, which I was not expecting. The staff at DP catering are really laid back and easy to work with, they helped us to create the menu that we wanted, and the prices are pretty reasonable. Additionally, the caterer that worked at our wedding reception was the best caterer I have ever witnessed, and my family members agree about this. She was helpful, industrious, kept the schedule on task, made great suggestions, and overall made our wedding reception better. I would absolutely recommend this caterer for your event.

I trusted Design Perfect Catering for an important board meeting after I was wowed by their sample lunch at an admin meeting. They showed up on time and ready to go to set up a nice breakfast and lunch display. The salad dressing was amazing. The eggs were so delicious! The vegetarian lasagna and the herb chicken — omg. Every caterer I’ve tried have always failed in making chicken tender, juicy and flavorful but I think DPC uses magic chickens from another planet — even after two hours the chicken was still wonderful. Rave reviews from everyone about the caterer, especially from our CFO and our General Counsel who got a kick out of the Cracker Jacks treats!

Design Perfect did the catering for our wedding a couple weeks ago. We were so impressed the second we walked into their office for our tasting, I was hoping the food was great! The food was amazing and Bandi was a huge help. We tweaked the menu a couple times via email and Bandi always responded in a very timely and professional manner. We got great reviews from all of our guests on how greaet the food was and how fun the bartenders were.
We were allowed to bring all of our own beverages, and they did not charge a corkage fee which is pretty hard to come by. They also did not charge us a cake cutting fee which was great.
There were a couple small hiccups but really nothing that we stressed out about — the bar was supposed to open at 5:30 for the guests before the ceremony, but my fiancé had to go ask them to open it up after 5:30. Also we were supposed to have a small plate of appetizers and champagne in our waiting room following the ceremony, but the mother of the groom had to go request that. And then also they served myself and my husband champagne out of plastic glasses to start rather than champagne flutes. But none of that was a huge deal at all and really the only faults of the evening — and I also realize we were ahead of schedule during the ceremony so that probably accounted for the appetizers and champagne not already being there.
Fun company with exceptional food and service, highly reccommended!

We hired Design Perfect for our wedding and were blown away by their customer service, attention to detail, flexibility, and, of course, their delicious food. Since our wedding was at 11am we opted for brunch food — French toast, eggs, bacon, country potatoes, sausage, and a fruit salad. All of our guests raved about the food, even days after the event. The catering staff were exceptional, making sure everyone’s drinks were full and that we got a chance to eat and drink since the bride and groom often starve to death while mingling. Design Perfect’s prices were extremely reasonable, and we actually ended up spending less than we budgeted for. We’ll definitely use DP in the future!

We hired Design Perfect to cater our wedding of 60 people, and they were so helpful and wonderful throughout the whole experience. We had a summer style bbq, with grilled salmon, kolbi chicken, and steamed clams. We also had grilled veggies, salad, cornbread muffins, and strawberry shortcake. Our family and friends raved about how delicious the food was, and there was enough variety to make everyone happy. Everything on the whole menu tasted amazing, and it was still within our budget. It was served buffet style, and they made it look really elegant with flowers and by draping colored cloths that matched our wedding colors on the table. They also boxed up all of the left over’s and sent them home with our family. We also hired Design Perfect to help set up the chairs and tables, and they made everything run without a hitch. I would highly recommend Design Perfect, and I hope we will have reason to use them again in the future!

I somehow volunteered to organize a corporate party for about 30 – 40 people with a budget of $ 1000. These guys were recommended to me by a friend who used them to host a superbowl party. Anyhow, they were very professional, on time, on budget, organized, friendly on the phone and email, and the food tasted good. I got all the credit with very little work. It was awesome.
