Design Harmony

As a contractor, I seemed to have issues more times than not working with designers. Most I had worked with were either under qualified or had a particular style and didn’t bend from that. After meeting Harmony and her team, its been a real treat working with them. They not only formulate amazing design plans for their clients, but they execute projects in a timely, precise manner. Kate, their design manager is great to work with and is very punctual.
I’ve worked with Design Harmony for a couple years now and I absolutely love the projects I have been apart of. Finding a designer that actually knows what is behind the sheetrock is a real plus, I can’t tell you enough how important this is. Once a pessimistic contractor working with designers, I am now a firm believer in the process thanks to Harmony. I can not wait to see what they come up with in my personal home kitchen and bath designs!

My husband and I hired Harmony to help us decorate our new home, and we couldn’t be happier! We had never worked with an interior designer before and initially weren’t sure if it was worth the cost, but the results speak for themselves — our rooms are gorgeous and we would never have come close to creating such beautiful designs ourselves!
It was a pleasure working with Harmony. She listened to our needs, considered both of our tastes, and delivered us something both beautiful and functional! On top of that, we felt that Harmony always kept quality and costs in mind when making recommendations, as if she were making decisions for her own home.
We ended up asking Harmony to design and execute three rooms, including our breakfast nook/​office, dining room, and living room. We receive TONS of compliments from everyone who enters our home about those rooms and will definitely contact her again when we’re ready to tackle the rest of our house!

Having met Harmony through friends, we hired Design Harmony to update our 20-​year old kitchen and family room. We can’t say enough about Harmony’s professional management. She is the perfect balance of creative inspiration and practical function. Remodeling includes many constraints (budget, timing, working within the existing structure, etc) and Harmony offered many inventive solutions that incorporated both my and my husband’s needs.
We have been very happy with the trades/​sub-​contractors. They all have delivered quality work and been on-​time and kept to the budget.
Besides being incredibly beautiful, our kitchen/​family room is so functional that it is a genuine pleasure to cook and entertain in this space.
We are looking forward to Design Harmony transforming our Master Bathroom next!

We were striving to create a look for our home that looked pulled together yet expressed our style, but we just didn’t know how to get there. That’s where Harmony came in — — she worked within our budget to help us absolutely transform our living/​dining room into an area that we absolutely love, and one in which we regularly receive enthusiastic compliments from family and friends.
Harmony’s customer service is absolutely impeccable. She is very professional and efficient, yet very personable and fun to work with. When we were deciding on paint color, furniture/​accessory pieces, and curtains, she always presented us with a range of choices which we really appreciated. She worked very collaboratively with us, and her first and foremost concern was ensuring that we received high quality design services at a good value.
What we are especially proud of and absolutely love in our transformed living/​dining room space is the addition of an interior barn door and a chalkboard, both created from reclaimed wood. We were looking to add more character, interest, and warmth to this space, and Harmony suggested the barn door and chalkboard. A brilliant idea on her part, and one that absolutely makes this space a standout!
Harmony’s services are exceptional in every way, and we heartily recommend her to anyone seeking design services — — we would use her again in a heartbeat. We have the privilege of reaping the rewards of her design expertise every day — — that’s pretty cool.

This is a long overdue review for Harmony and her design services. I almost hate to write a review because I’m afraid she will get too busy to ever help me again! But to not write one would not be fair in giving Harmony and her talent the kudos that she greatly deserves.
I have used Harmony now for 3 completely different projects and the reason I keep going back to her is for all the reasons why most people are afraid to even contact an interior designer. She is money conscience. She gets the «working people» and that is where her niche is. Everyone wants style in their homes but not have to pay an arm and leg for it. You give her a budget and she will be honest with how far that money can go for what you want. She will keep you on budget and not have any surprise charges. Harmony doesn’t pressure you into anything you are not comfortable. I have had nothing with wonderful experiences with her and her recommended contractors. Even for large projects like a kitchen remodel, she has kept us on budget and on time! Most importantly, she is a pleasure to work with. She makes you feel like you’re working with a friend and that is HUGE when you are working with someone in designing some aspect of your home. I cannot say enough good things about her.

We have never used an interior designer before, always opting for whatever colours were in the space when we got there. Window coverings were always off-​the-​rack mini-​blinds. Then we bought a house. A nice house. A new house! The only thing really wrong with the house was that every surface, walls and ceilings, was beige; builder’s beige — a monochromatic nightmare of bland colour. Enter Harmony Weihs. Initially somewhat concerned that our job would be too small — we liked our furniture and have a nice little collection of art pieces — Harmony quickly put our fears to rest. She met us at our apartment, did an assessment of what we had, explored our tastes and preferences and then came with us to our empty (beige) house where she did a room-​by-​room analysis of what we felt we wanted from each space. The result is a beautiful house, full of colour that not only reflects our aesthetic sensibilities, but flows logically from room to room creating a unified home. Harmony listened to our comments, never imposing her own vision, but rather, working with us, sometimes gently steering us away from something that wouldn’t work and sometimes building on our own ideas, and always ready with a new idea when we had none. She developed design plans, colour schemes and custom window treatment options, all with plenty of samples and swatches along the way. She recommended skilled tradespeople — painter, seamstress and electrician — to complete the work, and we were extremely satisfied with the professionalism of each.
Perhaps, most importantly, we never felt pressured or rushed into any decision and we were always encouraged to take our time when weighing the options. While I’m sure this project is on the small side of her regular projects, she treated our needs with respect and enthusiasm, and we will continue to collaborate with her in any future design/​decoration projects.

My husband and I chose to work with Harmony based on her Unilocal reviews and we have been so happy with her work. She is incredibly talented and grounded. In our case she was able to beautifully balance and merge the different aesthetics my husband and I have. She’s also very sensitive to price considerations and comes up with options across the cost spectrum. Additionally, she works with high quality maintenance personnel and contractors, and we’ve have been very pleased with her referrals. We wouldn’t hesitate to enthusiastically refer Harmony. She is a first-​rate designer!

I really didn’t think I would ever have the luxury of using an interior designer. That was until i decided to open up my own business and I realized that I needed help and fast. Harmony was not thrown off by my quick timing even though I’m sure it wasn’t ideal.
Harmony became my saving grace and I am eternally grateful to her for the many hours she spent designing my space, looking for the perfect pieces, choosing a beautiful color palette (that i would have never thought of on my own) and for every last detail that transforms a space from good to great. Harmony is incredibly collaborative, incredibly smart and most of all a great listener.
I realize now that my business is open that she was instrumental in many aspects and most importantly to me, she kept me sane and she kept me organized.
I wish there were more stars that I could give to her. She is amazingly talented, down-​to-​earth and an incredible person. I feel so lucky to have met her and to have her imprint left on my business.
If you want an honest, warm, extremely talented and accomplished interior designer than you must work with Harmony. I can’t wait for her to design my own home next, the experience was amazing.

We bought our first house 3 months ago. We wanted to make it «ours» but we didn’t know how. At first, we thought it would be way too expensive to work with an interior designer but we decided to give it a try and met with 5 different designers. We really liked our meeting with Harmony. Harmony is passionate about all aspects of interior design. She responds fast, listens to what you have to say, and gets engaged.
Harmony helped us design several rooms in our new home — dining room, entry way, family room, living room and our master bedroom. She took plenty of time to understand our style and came up with great design concepts. We told her how much we love color and she did an amazing job picking the right colors for all the rooms and making sure that all those colors work well together. She was also very flexible with her designs. I do not think we were easy clients — we didn’t know exactly what we wanted (first homebuyers) and we were changing our mind all the time — but Harmony was super patient with us and provided creative suggestions on accessories, furniture and even contractors to do the work. We love our new home and we could not have done it without her!

I had the pleasure of working with Harmony when I moved into my new apartment recently; I was essentially starting from scratch and needed all new everything. I’m not a person who loves «decorating» and Harmony made the experience less painful than I could have imagined! She took away every unpleasant aspect of the process and I actually enjoyed myself. And even better… I love my apartment!
The aspects I found most useful were:
* she’s flexible on what she provides, she’ll do anything from helping you pick out paint colors to actually doing the shopping and setting everything up for you — whatever you need
* she’ll work with any budget
* she’s creative, she had ideas and suggestions that I wouldn’t have thought of in a million years
* she makes it easy… not sure how, but she completely eliminates the stress and makes it fun
I highly recommend Harmony to anyone looking for anything «design» related!
