History
Established in 1988.
The North Tahoe Event Center has had an extremely storied history having been both a furniture store and bowling alley before being remodeled and reopened in 1988 to become the public building it is today. A wide variety of events including public meetings, community fundraiser, weddings, meetings and conferences all take place at the Center throughout the year.
One of the more interesting bits of history sorrounding the Center is that it is the concert venue formerly known as Kings Beach Bowl. In the ’60’s Janis Joplin, The Grateful Dead, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Buffalo Springfield, Iron Butterfly, the Young Bloods, Country Joe and the Fish, Quick Silver Message Service and Muddy Waters played in this venue. Recently, The Grateful Dead released a two disc set of their 1968 two night concert run at the Kings Beach Bowl.
