I try to follow the rule — if you have nothing nice to say about someone or something – say nothing at all.
Well if my silence could talk it would fill a book on appliances from Sears.
But I figure if I say nothing then you would not completely understand my dissatisfaction with this company and the sales people.
Mind you I was buying 4 appliances, so there was a lot to go over. I got my prices set –and since some of them were Kenmore brand, it was hard to comparison shop. But I finally got my act together and went to make my purchases.
Well, if you know anything about big department store shopping, you never go unless there is a sale. And at Sears you never go until there is a family and friend sale. How do you know when it is?
YOU ASK. Cause the difference in amount adds up.
And then you find out it is only good for one day, for 6PM until 9PM and that all hell breaks loose during this time, so you want to order ahead and they will put it into the system for you on that day.
Little do you know that they will tag on a service contract, delivery charge and take away fee.
So when you go to pick up your bill you have to dispute all the extra charges and they say, OH! So sorry, no problem taking it off. Yeah right, you have to stand there while they CALL for a refund. Ummm perhaps you didn’t understand that. THEY CALL someone in order to get an authorization number for a refund of something you didn’t agree to.
Their monetary operations are so backwards it is shocking.
Then you wait for delivery. But hey, they only have one of the appliances on time; the others will be delivered at another day. But you don’t find any of this out unless you call.
So they come to put my range in and they move my current range away from the wall and take one look at the electrical socket and say, we can’t touch that. It was an old fashioned socket.
I won’t go into it, but you should be aware that the advertisement of how they come and take out your old appliance and put your new one in comes with caveat’s. If there is anything one bit out of the ordinary, the delivery men won’t touch it. They aren’t trained to, they have too much liability and frankly, you don’t want them to.
After dealing with the above, I cancelled my other 3 appliances and went elsewhere.
They left such a bad taste in my mouth that every time I want something that I know I can find at Sears… I go elsewhere.
