Thanks Tao! Excellent prompt service. Locked my keys in the trunk at Big Beach and my man was there in about twenty minutes. Much Mahalos! Very fair price too.

Tau rocks! We were about to miss our flight to the airport and he rushed to get to us within 15 minutes and had the car unlocked in no time.

This locksmith is not dependable!
Today I called to have my new house rekeyed. The man who answered the phone, Tau, told me he would at my house. between noon and 1 o’clock. When I called him back at 2:30 to find out where he was, he said that he had forgot about my appointment. He did apologize profusely but by then, after waiting 2 ½ hours for him, I felt pretty annoyed!
Call 808 Safe House Locksmith. I found them very professional and they came to my home quickly and on time!!!

Fast and friendly. Came through on a key replacement when I was told by another locksmith no can. These guys saved me from the drama and expense of going through the car dealership. For that I say mahalos nui loa.

Highly recommend. Dog ate the last key to my car and they were able to get there same day and create and program two new keys for me. Way cheaper than dealer and some other alternatives. Friendly /​family operation.

Supa cool guy! Had to replace key for sis honda. Met me in Kahului inbetween his grocery shopping and made key straight from his van. A little pricer than I hoped but still waaaay cjeaper than dealership wanted. Very friendly and honest!

Talk about customer service! Yesterday (Saturday) my key got stuck in the tailgate lock of my 2006 Honda CRV. I called every locksmith listed in the Maui yellow pages, and not one was available. Some didn’t even have voice mail. Some were closed on Saturdays. Finally got to Valley Isle Lock & Key, and spoke with Tau (the father in this father & son team). After describing the problem to him, Tau let me know that he wouldn’t be able to fix it himself but that his son Terry could probably fix it the next day. Since Honda no longer has service hours on Saturdays, I decided to wait until Sunday and I am so glad I did. Though it took a while for us to catch up to each other, when son Terry arrived I could tell I was in good hands. He is an exceptional communicator, and when he started looking for the source of the problem, he found and resolved several issues quickly and reasonably.
I can’t say enough about the level of customer service these guys provided — true professionals with aloha. Both father & son were a pleasure to talk to; I didn’t meet Tau, but Terry was clean, presentable, well-​spoken, efficient, and a total pleasure to interact with. And to top it off, the price was less than half of what I expected to pay.
I am so glad to have found Vally Isle Lock & Key and I would not consider using any other locksmith on Maui!
(By the way, my neighbor Ken helped me secure the car last night. The key stuck in the lock was electronic, and still activated the other doors, so theoretically the car could have been hot-​wired and stolen. At Ken’s suggestion, I temporarily removed the battery from the stuck key, and voila! no more security threat!)

Synchronicity led me to Tau and Terry when I needed them most — to help fix a Honda Civic passenger door lock that had hardened beyond functioning… These guys came to my house with the right technology and the right attitude and *did not give up* until the problem was fixed. They charged me a very fair rate and even performed a courtesy spot-​check and repair when I called them up 8 months later (when the lock had jammed again, through no fault of theirs).
Highly recommend for their professionalism and quality of service — wouldn’t call anyone else on the island for vehicle door lock issues!

Talk about customer service! I had just bought a used car about three days prior, when I managed to break the key off in the driver’s side door. Needless to say, I was in a seriously foul mood on my way into work.

— they were the first local locksmith that appeared in my search. They very courteously called me when they were on their way, and it took me about 10 minutes to meet them at my car. By the time I got there, they had already extracted the broken piece of key out of the lock, and proceeded to lube my locks so they worked even better than before.
They also made me another car key onsite, and made sure that it worked in all doors/​ignition before calling it good. The father/​son team were a pleasure to talk to, they were clean, presentable, well-​spoken, efficient, and a total pleasure to interact with. And to top it off, the price was less than half of what I expected to pay.
