Maui Beach Weddings & Events

Once my fiancé and I had committed to traveling to Hawaii for a just-​us destination wedding, our next step was to find a wedding planner. I had read about hiring a planner and found many on the islands, but the Maui resort we were staying at had wedding planners on staff, so I started with them. They were very nice and excited that we chose their resort as our wedding location, but when their quote exceeded the cost of our seven night stay, I decided it was time to consider other options.
After a great deal of searching, reading countless reviews, and looking at the work of numerous photographers, I contacted Maui Beach Weddings and Events (MBWE) and here’s why. Their website had a great deal of information on the entire process as well as many suggestions for what can be done. There are other companies that also have a lot of information, but I thought that their site was more complete and better organized. I also liked that they posted their pricing structure and emphasized that any package can be customized to suit one’s vision. What really sold me was the photography. I had looked at quite a few other photographers and while some seemed more intent on showing the creativity of the photographer, the pictures from MBWE were more appealing to me. My sense was that they prioritized the subjects (lighting, positioning, etc.) first and the beauty of Hawaii second, and that’s it. Just beautiful, classic wedding pictures that happened to be taken on a Maui beach.
It was Rachel at MBWE that responded to my initial inquiry and we continued to exchange email off and on for about two months. I asked many questions, requested recommendations, and solicited her opinion of some of our ideas for our beach wedding. Rachel was always responsive and once a decision was made regarding one service provider or another, she quickly confirmed, reserved, or arranged that particular component.
Once all the arrangements were made, which was about 2 – 3 weeks before our trip, our only other obligation was the marriage license appointment that was scheduled for the afternoon we arrived on Maui. Other than that we didn’t have to do anything else except enjoy all that Maui has to offer, until such time that we were to meet on the beach for the ceremony. And isn’t that what one hires a wedding planner for?
We arrived at our beach location, which was essentially the same beach that fronted our resort, right at the appointed time and MBWE was already there and had everything set up and ready to go. The musicians began playing while we made introductions, my microphone for the video was installed, and the ceremony began. For the next 90 minutes or so, Greg and his team coordinated each step just as we had envisioned it weeks before. Then, upon the conclusion of the last picture, we were free to head out for dinner, of which we had special plans at the resort.
Again, what better reason is there for hiring MBWE as your wedding planner? They helped us create our own vision, coordinated with all the vendors, executed the full ceremony just as we planned, and cleaned up when it was over. All we had to do was show up and enjoy the experience. Lastly, we received the pictures from MBWE just a week later and they are, in my view, phenomenal. With two photographers, we have two angles of the same moments to enhance the memory and to provide our family and friends back home with a broader visual. Additionally, the video is expected soon and I expect this will be as good as the still photographs.
This review would not be complete without recognizing the vendors involved in our ceremony. From the florist, Sandi at Maui Blooms, to the wedding cake, the name of this vendor I do not know, to hair and makeup stylist Lori Davis to Reverend Al Terry, our officiant, and to Cambria Moss and Ricardo Dioso for playing such beautiful music. Thank you all for making our ceremony so special.
In summary, I found the entire team at Maui Beach Wedding and Events to be professional, helpful, thorough and considerate. If you’re looking for a planner to help you with one of life’s most important events, Maui Beach Wedding and Events is the team to call.

We wanted a small intimate wedding in Maui on the beach. Greg and Rachel provided it perfectly, they were Excellent to work with! We loved Laki’s ceremony and they helped line him up. They arranged for the license and the flowers all we had to do was show up at the beach at sunset. As we drove up to the beach we noticed several other couples doing the same thing at the same time, but we should not have worried as Greg was there and had the perfect spot claimed for us. We did not even notice what else was going on! We had the perfect spot on the beach with the sunset and surf backdrop for our day and Greg’s pictures were the proof. We felt special and not rushed thru any of the service or all the led up to it. All in All we could not have asked for anything to be better. Oh and as a plus we had our pictures in less than a week!! This is the second review very we have ever taken the time to write, but we felt the need to share our experience with Greg and his team to anyone that is getting married in Maui. My husband and I were in Maui for our 1^st wedding anniversary. We wanted a photo shoot and Greg was very nice to capture what we wanted. Greg was very accommodating, very nice and patient with us. Greg and Maude made us feel comfortable almost instantly and the pictures came out extremely beautiful! :)

From start to finish, my experience with Maui Beach Weddings and Events was fantastic. Rachel responded to my initial request promptly and answered all of my questions and concerns. (I had a million since I would be coming from the mainland and it would be a small intimate group). She made recommendations for me based on what I had envisioned for my perfect day, yet still remained conscious of my budget. She never tried to upsell me but offered options based on what I wanted to spend. She was very responsive and kept communication with me from my first contact with her up until the day of the wedding. I was put in touch with Sandi with Maui Blooms to choose my flowers. She was a pleasure to work with and the flowers turned out EXACTLY like the photos that I chose. I was blown away by this, as many times when you choose flowers from a photo online, you are guaranteed that the final product look similar to the photo based on availability of the flowers. The end result definitely exceeded my expectations. The flowers were gorgeous, not to mention they lasted beautifully and I was able to enjoy them in my hotel room up until we had to depart back to the mainland. I was also put in touch with Mona with Concierge Connection. She took care of all of booking all of my reservations for restaurants and zip lining and gave great recommendations for other excursions. Mona made it very easy for me and all of my guests to have one point of contact to be able to plan our adventures on Maui. The day of the wedding I was greeted by Greg and Jeff — photographers who also helped to coordinate the ceremony. They were EARLY, which was awesome, and we were able to get started on photos right away. They were very calming and warm. The ceremony went smoothly and in perfect harmony. They made it fun for my new husband and I while taking the photos and many of my family and friends commented on how professional, calm, friendly and warm they were. Greg mailed out my photos to me the following day and made sure I knew I could contact him with any questions. Overall, I could not have asked for a more perfect wedding day and I owe it to Maui Beach Weddings and Events. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to plan an event on Maui.

My husband and I had 30 people come down for our wedding in September of 2015. Greg provided the name of the best locations, concierge, and travel coordinator. My husband, family, and other guests were all extremely pleased with how everything worked out! This trip will be a memory our family shares near and dear for a lifetime. Exceptional and wonderful!!!
Me and my husband went to Maui for our honeymoon. We contacted Greg and his team to make our photo shoot. They were just amazing! Very professional, nice and fun. He advised us on the place and time when its best to take pictures. If not for him we would have never found that wonderful place Makena Cove which both me and my husband liked more than all other beaches in Maui that we saw. Our photo shoot was fun and relaxed. Greg made it so easy. He instructed us in every detail to make the photos look perfect and the photos indeed came out perfect! We couldn’t be happier when we saw them. I’m absolutely in love with every single one of them! Plus it took just a little over a week to get them all edited.

My husband and I had a destination sunset wedding at Mokapu Beach on 5÷2÷15, the day prior to that we had a morning pre-​wedding photoshoot at Makena Cove Beach on 5÷1÷15. I had done an extensive amount of research in finding a 5 star rated photographer and wedding planner that fit my budget and I can guarantee you that Greg here with A Maui Beach Wedding is thee perfect person to have.
I spoke to numerous wedding photographers and wedding planning vendors in Maui for planning my destination wedding and I can promise you that 90% of all the other vendors are all about the finance and about how much this will cost, that will cost, add this on for this much without even mentioning what it is that I am looking for and what it is that I want, whereas the minute that I spoke with Greg he is about «What I want.» He is flexible with the package that I selected and customized thee package to save me money as well as an overall efficiency for what I wanted. I felt Greg listened and communicated extremely well. His response back to my calls and emails were extraordinarily quick, I did not have to wait for a 24 hour wait period but I would receive a response back from him within minutes or hours to the last email I would send him.
My pre wedding photos at Makena Cove were extremely fabulous, they look absolutely wonderful that it looks surreal! The day of the wedding everything was ready to go, just for me to show up. I arrived a few minutes late but his team and himself were extremely nice and did not exhibit any sense of annoyance or irritation especially with my two young children that were a part of my wedding. I absolutely appreciate Greg and his crew for doing such a miraculous job from start to finish, I can’t exaggerage how awesome his team is, for my experience with his professionalism and his patience is indescribeable.
Not to mention that my wedding was on 5÷2÷15, I already received my photos back from him and I am in love all over again. I definitely will get in touch with Greg again, hence my next visit to Maui I will have him do our next photoshoots. =)

Her is so knowledgable on all the perfect spots to shoot. We did family pictures and he is super easy to work with and patient with the whole family. We would all recommend him to anyone taking a trip to Maui to capture your moments! He even remembered everyone’s names while working w us!

We used A Maui Beach Wedding for photography and wedding planning services for our wedding this past August and can not rave about them enough.
First of all, Sandi was our wedding coordinator and was absolutely awesome to work with. My husband and I were concerned in the beginning because we didn’t think it could be that easy and stress free to plan a wedding from WA but Sandi made it possible. She was so incredibly helpful and informative throughout the process and even gave us ideas of how to cut corners for our wedding to minimize costs which I was blown away by. You are awesome, Sandi!
The photography was equally amazing. Greg and his staff were so incredibly fun to work with which helped put both of our families at ease on such a hectic day. We were blown away that we received our pictures and videography of the ceremony within ten days of the event. They work fast and the pictures came out amazing! My biggest tip for anyone considering using their services for their special day, spend the extra $ and spring for the videography services. It is so awesome to be able to go back and relive that day since there are so many small details you miss during the ceremony.

I can’t even begin to say enough good things about Greg and A Maui Beach Wedding. I called several photographers, but once I spoke with Greg I knew that we would definitely work with his company. Greg is extremely patient and super helpful and made planning a Maui wedding from the mainland a breeze. He gave us recommendations for a minister, location and florist and we used all 3 and couldn’t be happier. I am so glad that I trusted his judgement — we had a PERFECT wedding because of it. I am quite a Type A personality and was nervous about planning a destination wedding, but Greg was very responsive before, during AND after the ceremony. Once in Maui, our family felt completely at ease with Greg and he was able to capture natural photographs. Nothing we did ever felt posed. The pictures were stunning! The turn around time was shocking — we had our pictures on a disc before we left Maui. The photos are what will be remembered year after year and Greg’s work is simply amazing! We will be going back to see Greg every year that we’re in Maui!

Greg and his team at A Maui Beach Wedding are awesome. Our wedding pictures are beautiful and we could not be more pleased. Once I found A Maui Beach Wedding and hired Greg as our photographer, planning the rest of our wedding was easy. Greg recommended a terrific beach, hair/​make-​up artist and officiant. We decided to go with the «Two Worlds» package so we could get photographs in taken both in the glamorous Maui sunset and the bright, turquoise mornings. The post-​wedding photo shoot was especially fun… I felt like a supermodel. Greg is very calm, flexible, and has a great eye for gorgeous photos. I highly recommend Greg and his team for your Maui wedding!

Greg was superb and he went beyond the call of duty to find the perfect location. The pictures he took turned out amazing. We could have not found a nicer photographer.
