This is the new location in Covington in the Home Depot parking lot. Not much has changed, the food is alright and then servers are ok. The food is not that great, meaning it’s a little too greasy for me. I had some chorizo and there was still quite a bit at the bottom of the plate. We also got a cheese quesadilla and it too was greasy. The rice didn’t have much flavor either. I would continue and go on.

When we saw this place had reopened in a new location we were surprised but decided to try it. Mistake! The service is SLOW and the food is not that great. My daughter got a chicken taco. The chicken had a strange flavor and was extremely dry like it had been reheated. The waitress got my son’s order wrong and it took so long to get his correct dish the rest of us had finished eating by the time he got it. Overall not impressed and will not be back.

I can’t believe the service that we received here. When we got to this location, it was full, all 7 tables they have on one side of the lobby, but they have tables on the other side, not located where anyone of the servers can see. They sat us there saying we’d have our own little area. The chips were cold. By the time we had ordered our water was already gone, asking for refills, we did not receive a refill till after our food was given to us. When they did give us the water it was room temperature. The food was was okay, would have been better if it was hot. The bill we asked for didn’t get brought to our table for over 10 minutes so we decided to go and ask for it. When we paid, we saw into the kitchen, where we saw the cook opening up a soda right where he cooks. I have never received such bad service,

Cinco De mayo Day lunch at Las Margarita. Always great food & service. This us our go-to-Mexican food restaurant when we get the craving. Service is always 1st class & the food is delicious. We always seem to load up on the chips & salsa and by the time the main plate comes, we’re full. But, that’s OK. Left-overs for dinner!

I always sit in the bar. Beer is cold, happy hour has good deals. The margaritas are always fresh and taste great. A bit on the noisy side but the food is good for the price

I don’t if this place has new owners or what. We don’t go here a lot but we used to go there more its always been great good service, good food, prompt on all levels. This time however the lady seated us said they would be back with chips she comes by once asks about drinks ordered those still no chips and salsa. I just gave the benefit that maybe they are running short handed. But then our chips and salsa show up about 10 – 15 minutes after being seated and our drinks. The salsa was nothing like it used to be more watery and very hot not flavorful, chips were almost stale. My youngest ordered off the kids menu asked for no rice only beans for the side, it came with rice and beans I told the gentleman that brought the plates it was not suppose to have rice(my son is at the age he doesn’t like rice and won’t eat even a piece) the server seemed a bit bothered .I had to ask for our waters to be refilled when the waitress was asking is everything ok. Nothing tastes as it did the red sauce on my burrito missed the burrito. Very sad I hope it’s just a fluke will probably try it again just to see. Very disappointed.I hope the owners read these comments.

We like this place. When we go we split the Tres Amigo’s Platter with Beef, Shrimp and Chicken. They always bring us extra Shells and we don’t even have to ask. Chips always seem fresh. And it is the right size for two and you spend about the same as you would at Taco Time for better variety and taste.

Who doesn’t like Mexican food? Las Margaritas’ has been around for decades and I have eaten at many of their locations many times, but for some reason about 7 – 8 years ago, I just stopped going, There was no issue or incident, I think the location I went to just started to taste like every chain i. e Azteca, Toreros, etc… Now when I loved in Bellevue, the Bellevue location was the location I frequented most, now in Renton, I have been to Issaquah and this location. On my 1st visit, the service was excellent as well as the food. It was hot fresh and flavorful. The part I found most impressive is every time I go to a new Mexican restaurant I ask a simple question about the salsa on the table, «Do you have anything hotter?» Our server looked at me like he had a flashback to us both growing up south of the border and he said yes, our cooks make something special for the employees. This salsa was so good, that I was almost full off chips before the food came. And the complete package of service and food was so impressive that we came back two more times in the following week. This location is a find and I’m glad I decided to step out of the box and give them a try.

Place is great, service was really good. No it’s not an authentic Mexican restaurant, but it doesn’t pretend to be either. It’s a great American Mexican restaurant. I disagree with the other posts that speak negatively of the place. If you want authentic Mexican food then this isn’t the place, otherwise it’s a clean restaurant with good service and good food.

Went with a group of people. I ordered a shrimp dish off of the seafood section, even«pointed» to it and asked some questions. When the order came, it was a chicken dish. I then asked the waiter, told I’m I ordered shrimp but if this dish was prepared instead I’d take it but wanted to make sure it wasn’t someone’s else’s order. He insisted I did order the chicken dish and was very rude, grabbed the dish and marched off. Then came back a second time and showed me that the chicken dish was written on his order sheet. He was again extremely rude and I reminded him that I said I’d take the chicken dish since it was already prepared. He walked off, another shrimp dish came 15 minutes later after the rest of my party was nearly done eating. I’ll never give this place my business again!

This restaurant caters to those that want the huge oval plate covered in mounds of gooey crap. I’ve passed this restaurant many times and thought of stopping in for dinner. We went in and had a coupon for a discount and presented it before ordering. We got our food, and the plates were giant 13″-15″ oval platters that you could serve a turkey on for thanksgiving. I ordered a simple burrito, my friend ordered enchiladas. Both plates were covered in goo. My burrito sat lonely in the middle of the giant plate surrounded by the worst sauce I’ve ever tasted. When they added sour cream and guacamole, it was just a mountain of grossness. The enchilada plate was small enchiladas then the rest of the platter covered in rice and runny beans with the enchilada sauce ½” thick. The food really had no flavor of other than bland tomato with cheese. Then we got the check. We were told on arrival that margaritas were $ 3. However, when we got our check, they were $ 5. Because we had a coupon, they said we couldn’t get happy hour prices on drinks. The only thing positive about this place was the chips were fresh. The salsa nothing more than tomato sauce from a can with a few spices and peppers added. $ 50 for two bad dinners and two $ 3 margaritas and tip including a $ 9 discount was outrageous. As we were eating and talking after dinner, we began to notice that one out of 15 people we saw come into the restaurant while we were there was of average weight. Everyone else were tettering on the overweight/obese ledge. Paper Towel dispensers in the bathroom didn’t work. Next time I’m in the area, I’m sure the Safeway deli has something that tastes better than this gooey mess.

2.5 stars. I round down to 2 stars. So, both times I’ve been to this restaurant, it’s been a little bit later at night — around 8:00, 8:30 on a Friday night. Maybe that’s a little too late to be dining at this restaurant, IDK. I’ll start with the good. They are promt with getting water and chips on the table. The drinks are pretty decent — their bar tender is not bad at all. The service the first time I went was very decent. She was attentive and prompt. The bad — the two times I’ve been here the food really was not anything special. Dinner for two, no appetiser or dessert came to about $ 45 which in my opinion is over priced for the quality of food. I ordered the pollo con crema. It tasted like straight sour cream with cheese. There were supposed to be mushrooms, onions and green pepper but it was pretty much just sour cream sauce and a couple sliced onions. The Chicken Mole also tasted funky. I had to ask 4 times for a coke. THe first time there was a combo meal for two, both the meats were dry, the shrimp mushroom thing was pretty good though. Anyway, I wish I could give it a better rating but it had twice been below standard. Maybe it’s better during the dinner rush or lunch when the kitchen isn’t winding down.

On several visits now(4), food has been disappointingly dry. No wonder they’re not very busy.

The food was okay but definitely over priced. Our server was very impatient and rude. We went to dinner here to celebrate my husband’s promotion and when she realized we’d be ordering a few drinks she didn’t try to hide her annoyance about stopping by the bar. As a matter of fact she flat out refused to get any more drinks after a while. I was excited to see fried ice cream on their menu, but don’t waste your money on it. It’s not anywhere near as good as other restaurants. And definitely avoid this place if you enjoy tequila with your Mexican food, your waitress wont want to serve it to you.

My family has been coming here since I was 5 years old(I’m now 20). The staff there is always nice and welcoming. Their salsa/guacamole is amazing and I always get their picadillo enchilada. Yum! Every time I come home from college for the weekend I make sure to come here and it’s so great! They’ve gone through some changes over the years– for a while they even changed their name to Cancun but now they’re back to being Las Margaritas which is the best! :)

When we first moved to this area i took my family here for lunch. To be honest it has been a while and i wish i could tell you how the food is but from what i remember it was nothing spectacular. What i can tell you is that I left my cell phone on the table and noticed i left it there about halfway to my car in the parking lot. Upon my return less than 5 minutes later the table was already cleared(wish my service was that good). Anyways I asked where my phone was and they all played stupid. They did put on a great show though acting like they were looking for it. when in reality the waiter, owner or bus boy had already pocketed it. I have not been back since and never will.

Worth a gift certificate visit, but keep your menu. We sat at a table in the bar and were waited on by the bartender. My piña colada was ok, but worth a second. We tried the Mexican Pizza. The tortilla was gummy and greasy, but the toppings made a great dip when placed on the complementary chips. Hubby ordered a chicken burrito and enjoyed the mounds of shredded chicken and tasty rice /bean lake filling the plate. Many of the dishes have mushrooms so I was very careful in picking the Camarones Portuguese. It was described in the menu as bacon wrapped shrimp with peppers and onions in a cream sauce and served with tortillas, rice and beans. Unfortunately what I was served had many large sauteed mushrooms and no tortillas. When I asked the bartender for my tortillas… this dish does not come with any… These peppers and onions don’t go in a tortilla with the sauce and shrimp? no… I don’t know why they are there. sigh. The peppers tasted more like ‘shrooms than onion so I dropped it and dipped. The shrimp were well cooked and the sauce tasty. When it came time to pay the bill the bartender tried to leave the certificate behind when taking my credit card even though he had already picked it up and read through it earlier in the meal.

This restaurant reopened. I think it may have been in 2006 or in 2007, but it has been opened for a long time under the Las Margaritas name. I just placed a takeout order for a chimichanga, my favorite. This is a good restaurant with excellent customer service.
