I took someone here that was Japanese and left embarrassed. The choices seemed limited and old and service was not that good.

Came in at noon on a Saturday and did not have any of the problems that all the one-star reviews had. Had attentive service and there was plenty of food on the belts. The sushi itself was good: thick cuts of great looking fish and interesting rolls. While the food looked great, the taste was only really about average; nothing blew me away or was particularly memorable. The pricing here is unnecessarily complicated: 3 shades of green? Really? Not that it matters, since most of it will be the $ 3 plate. Sushi is expensive. Kaiten Sushi is supposed to be a cheaper alternative, but the bill stacks up shockingly quickly here if you are anything near hungry. Overall, it’s a decent, passable sushi spot, but not one that warrants going out of your way for. If you want quality, the nearby Sushi Kuine provides better sushi. If you just want to fill your belly for cheap, go to the Sushi Land in Tukwila for similar quality at much cheaper prices.

My friend came here and said the sushi and service was really good. We decided to meet up one day after work here based on that. I’ll admit, we met up, I would say, about an hour-ish before they were closing, so I get that the pickings were slim on the conveyor belt. I get it, they didn’t wanna put out fresh sushi within an hour of closing and not many people in. And I don’t mind ordering my own roll anyway. The thing is the service was just *really* slow, and it was kind of baffling because there really weren’t many people in when we were there. I’m open to coming in again at an earlier time to see what variety they have, and hopefully service will be quicker. But yeah, sorry, had to do two stars based on my first time in.

I can’t believe anyone gave this place more than one star. It was about a 3 star a year ago but the visit yesterday nailed it as the worst sushi I have ever had in my life.

Oh my goodness, I should’ve listened to all the bad reviews. Went to try during jury duty lunch break with another juror and got there at 10:58; they open from 11:00am. We walked in and they greeted us but said«oh you’re a little early, but have a seat and you can order from the menu and we’ll make it for you.» The conveyor belt had zero food on it. Red flag #1. We sat and figured well the sushi plates should be coming out soon. As the sushi chefs worked, other workers began setting food on the turntable. They put out soybeans, yogurt drinks, different cakes, gyoza and seaweed salads… but no sushi. As we waited for the chefs to put their creations on the belt, the manager(or owner) began spraying some kind of spray along the base of the booths. We weren’t sure if it was bug spray or something but it was gross. Red flag #2. By now some fried items came out and my companion tried a plate that he thought was fried tofu, but turned out to be fried California roll which was just fried mush. We could have ordered straight off the menu but that would take away from the whole kaiten experience. 11:20am and only now some regular California rolls are placed on the belt. Well we had hoped to try some real fish sushi and not this fake westernized roll. It was then time to return to court so we did not even have a chance to eat one plate of real sushi. Royally disappointed with this place! You cannot run a kaiten sushi restaurant and have a bare conveyor belt when customers walk in at the start of the business day. And have some real sushi ready to go and not a bunch of desserts. Also don’t be spraying chemicals while customers are dining. Order: 1 soybean 1 tempura 1 fried Cali roll 1 shu-mai 1 soda pop Definitely will not return. Too bad because the restaurant itself is really nice. $ 11.00

Taken aback by all the bad reviews on this place because I think they are one of the few places that serve sushi thats actually fresh. Unlike places similiar to Sushiland(in Tukwila, at least) the sushi here tastes and looks fresh. The portions are fair and selection is great. Prices are average but for good tasting sushi, its well worth it. The atmosphere is low key which I like. It’s not crazy busy and/or loud and the conveyor belt always has good selections to grab. Don’t see what you want on the belt? No problem, a server will order it for you and you wont have to wait too long. Hot plate not warm enough? Just ask and they will heat it up pronto. The service is superb and I always feel welcome here. I come here specially for the Sakura Blossom, it is to die for if you love tuna. It is literally a small mountain of thinly sliced grade A tuna formed into sakura blossoms with a nice sauce over it. Overall, I had good experiences here and I’m sorry to see that others didn’t. I’ll stop by again when I’m in the area, maybe my next review will be different.

This was my third time coming here… The first time I came here was with my husband when they first opened. The sushi was good quality and the service was great! The second time we came in the quality of the sushi wasn’t as good, but we thought it ws probably an off day… the sushi I had today was terrible… small portions, cheap quality and not much variety. The worst thing of all is they put cream cheese in everything… I personally hate cream cheese in my sushi, so I unfortunately wont be coming back.

Again with the conveyor belts. I don’t know why I keep doing this to myself. but eh. why not give it a try. So. Kaiten Sushi in Kent Station. My brother and sister had gone there a couple times before and said that it was worth a try. Maybe they went at a more busier time when there was faster turn over of the food… that has to be it, because when we went to try this place out, I have to say, its the bottom of the bottom on my list of conveyor belt sushi places. On with the breakdown! 1. Ambiance: The place looked spiffy. Updated, cool things all over the wall, belt set up was nice. Lots of booths. spacious. Location of the place is a little weird and trying to find it in the dark, rainy blahness that is Seattle weather was slightly annoying. 4⁄5 2. Service: One girl serving and one guy avoiding to serve and hovering over the cash wrap. 1 guy making rolls, 2 other guys replenishing the ingredients that go in the rolls. One lady(quite possibly an owner) standing by the belt, doing god knows what. We weren’t sure if we were supposed to seat ourselves or if someone was supposed to, but we gravitated towards a neatly set up booth. The girl that was waiting on tables(in fact ALL of the tables in there), greeted us and asked if we wanted anything to drink. We obliged and asked for an Asahi and a hot sake. We dove into the food that was there. Different color plates. and nothing more than $ 5. Okay. sure. We get our Asahi and Hot sake. Hot sake tastes like hot plastic. –5 points. Server is non existent after that. because she is running around helping all the other tables. We got her attention and ordered Calamari, Edamame, Yakisoba and a Coke. We received it maybe 15 minutes later. For all the tables the girl had to wait on — I give her a 4⁄5. For the establishment. a 3/5, 3. Food: If i could give a negative rating I would. First dish I had, Unagi. FAIL. Dry rice, dried out unagi, cold dish. –20 points. All the other rolls we tried were mediocre at best. I even tried the Ahi Poke for some variance. and even that was BLAND. Boo ordered a yakisoba. –20 points. See the picture of the yakisoba? Yeah who wants to eat that? Veggies and top Ramen noodles. Dry looking as hell and looks like it was a leftover that they brought from home and tried to pass off on the belt. Not at all impressed by the food. and two rolls into our experience, i was thinking to just quit and go to Genki. that alone speaks for itself. The only saving graces that they have is the picture that i posted with 5 things. Asahi, coke, edamame, Calamari and agedashi tofu. All of which are NOBRAINERS to make/produce. .5÷5 4. Price: For two people, it was $ 52. Not worth it if you ask me. Aside from the confusing shades of green plates, the poor taste of the food. The portions are a joke. For $ 1.00 I got maybe 12 pieces of edamame. It didnt even break the top of that small little bowl it came in. Same with the Calamari. For $ 1.50 I got two pieces of tofu. These are the cheapest things on the menu and even then I still got jipped. Overall feeling: I was full but no where NEAR satisfied. I’m being generous with a 2.5÷5 rating. Suggestions: +1 for having fruit on the belt. Its a nice change from all that rice and fish. –20 for having OLD fish on the belt. –1 for having most of your dishes uncovered. No wonder ish dries out. –20 for no content or flavor in the yakisoba +1 for having good size pieces in your Ahi Poke — but amp up the flavor. Was pretty bland. –5 for having colored plates that were TOO close to each other. Three different color greens? –2 for having ONE server. +5 for having a fine selection of beers, drinks and random goodies. It looks like an extensive list of desserts and randoms on the list. –5 for having über small portions. Whats the deal with the edamame and the Calamari? Are you passing on your overhead costs to your customers? tsk tsk.

Service was odd. Two of us got there first and the server came and we asked for waters while we waited. The other two in our party came and sat down, and the server quickly walked over and asked if now we were ready to order drinks. My husband asked a question about a special he had seen on the bathroom wall and ther server said he didn’t know but he’d send over the lady that had. Awkward minutes pass while he doesn’t bring us water or place settings, nor does the mysterious lady come to our table. He finally comes back like nothing happened and asks for our drink orders. We pretend like the last few minutes of not getting water, our sake special question answered, nor getting our settings didn’t happen and proceed to order our drinks. More minutes pass and the mysterious lady in question appears, apologizes that the male server in fact did not get our drink orders, and asks for them again. So after the first 10 – 15 minutes of weirdness wraps up, it turns out to be a decent convyor belt sushi restaurant. Didn’t appreciate the inconsistency in the use of plate covers — the same type of sushi rolls would be on plates with and without covers. Most of the sushi rolls didn’t look fresh and the selection was sparse. My two fav dishes were the udon and spicy tuna roll. Won’t return due to odd service, mediocre sushi and decent but not great prices. Better value would be Blue C Sushi.

Great sushi joint located in Kent Station. Went with my daughter as we both enjoy having these little eating adventures. The place is clean and prices were color coded ranging from about $ 2-$ 5. Not bad. The conveyor belt where the food plates go is long but they do offer lots of selections. Service was OK. Location is great coz we live close to Kent so it eliminates the hassle of driving to Southcenter/Tukwila or someplace else.

The sushi tastes good, but the rolls are tiny. They have some larger rolls, but they’re the ones I tend not to like. For the size of the rolls I ended up being hungry again in an hour. I’ll probably go somewhere else next time.

We tried this place, just because I have never eaten at a conveyor belt sushi joint. I have eaten at tons of other sushi places, but none that use the conveyor belt method. the sushi was OK. the service was horrible though. There was one lady folding napkins and what not. We were seated, by im guessing teh manager. She showed us to our seats, grabbed a high chair for my son and we never saw her again. No one took our drink order, no one came to see if there was anything off the«hot» menu that we wanted to order. We had to flag the waitress down and request drinks as well as a few hot items. I should have asked for extra napkins at that time, because it took us another 25 minutes to catch her for extra napkins. The environment is cool, just because you get to pick and chose, and my son thought that was great. Food OK, nothing to write home about. Service… horrible. Give it a shot if you have never been and are in the area, otherwise go to Seattle and try it there if your wanting quality sushi.

This is a sad, sad excuse for a conveyor belt sushi place. The selection was very limited. I probably saw the same dish five or so plates in a row. The sushi was small and made with the cheapest, flimsiest materials. The service is very slow. My mom ordered some fried fish from the menu and they actually forgot to bring it out! When it came out, it was soggy and cold. Very unappealing. The price was too high for the low quality of food we received. This is to bad, there aren’t to many good sushi places down in the South Lake Washington Area, and this place is definitely not one of the good ones. Food: 1⁄5 Service: 1⁄5 Price: 2⁄5 Ambiance: 3⁄5 clean, not bad looking

Honestly this was the worst Sushi I have ever had. I have enjoyed sushi more from Safeway. The crab is horrible and dry. The rice was dry everything was just not good. I have had excellent sushi from other local restuarants that use the belt style that kept the Sushi fresh and flowing and had great quality control. Kaiten was just not up to par and to boot it was just moderately busy. The wait staff was helpful but lacked attentiveness. Seemed very unprofessional at times. There are better sushi places for a better price up the hill from this place.

I’ll give this place 3.5 because of the close location & decent sushi they had. I went with my bf during our trip & wanted to try the sushi in WA while having our little adventures. The place is big and they have revolving sushi. The plates were color coded & ranged from $ 1-$ 5. It was super cheap & I liked that! We ordered about 10 plates plus a pot of green tea which came out to be $ 14 bill. Not bad!!! I really like the sushi and how fresh everything tasted. They had the chef prepapring at warp speed sending plates down the conveyer belt & if you wanted something specific, they didn’t hestitate in making it. Great place to come for a quick bite!

I’ve had two bad experiences with the freshness of the food here. But if you are looking for a place to get a beer and a couple of fried things wrapped in rice than go for it.

I have been a fan of sushi for years and never really of the belt sushi places. We have eaten and sushi land a number of times and have always enjoyed the tasty fish but the service their left something to be desired. We first discover Kaiten while heading to the movies and decided to give it a try. The interior was great and the staff overly helpful. The sushi on the other hand tasted bland, like it had all been frozen and the selction was poor. It really just didnt have any flavor, the sushi chef was also too much like a salesman in my opinion. Dinner for 4 with sake was $ 90. for another $ 30 we could have went to a nice sit down sushi bar.

Where can I go where the entertainment taunts me as it leaves me wondering, «what the *&%$@! is that“‘ «give me more of that sushi-licious» «hmmm… I like it when you serve up some freshness…» … You too can have conversations in your head, or out loud, and leave your friends saying«i’ll have what she’s having!» But, the entertainment and sushi-licious freshness is not only what I would come back for, the servers serve up some attentive, friendly, and fresh platters that keep there customers smiling and rollin’ in the door!

Ok. So my boyfriend and I are huge sushi fans! While walking from the train station, we were wondering what to eat. We saw that Kaiten Sushi had opened and walked in. We sat down and were instantly greeted with our server. We got the miso soup, which was fab. We started tasting the sushi, and everything we ate was delicious. The edemame was not too salty and they were served warm. Everything was really great. It was even more great when we found out we came in on the day they were training there servers and that the grand opening was the next day, so our tab was free since we didn’t order alcohol. Talk about getting the buzz around town. I haven’t stopped recommending this place to friends. I love the attention to detail, the gifts area(since I didn’t get to see the finished display), and the friendly servers. I’m definitely going back!

Unique. One word to describe it. Conveyor belt sushi fever has hit the US — or atleast here anyway. And you know what that means: another unique color plating system(yay!). ;) This place is unique in that, even though you might find familiar plates, there’s PLENTY of other stuff different and unseen of at other area kaiten sushi places. They just opened yesterday, too, and with what I think is a great reception thus far, I think they can only get better. Service was nice; it’ll take them some time getting to know the huge menu. To give you an idea how big, here’s the tallies for each: Nigiri(2): 17 raw. 10 cooked. Gunak(2): 15 Veget Nigiri: 3 Veget Rolls: 9 Rolls:(3 – 4): 17 raw. 29 cooked. Sashimi(4 – 6): 11 Beyond Sushi: 2 soup. 6 cool. Hot Dishes: 31 Dessert: 6 Ice Cream: 9 Sake: 1 hot. 18 cold. Wine: 3 Beer: 15 Pop/Ice Tea: 8 Bottle Soda: 13. 5 Vitamin Water. 6 Japanese Soda. –over 200 menu listings. My eyes got a good workout. ;) You can request(which I did for the House Roll). Although, the cashier lady seemed(for lack of a better term) slightly snobby(–here’s receipt — here’s pen — ). All the(pretty sure) korean chefs seemed ok. Fairly nice crowd for them when i got there and left. I like how it’s presented and art. The gold-stenciled double belts are nice(reminds me of O’Sushi w/o the glass partition. Unique layout. Great old school jams and beats. I wanna try the Snow Crab next time. If anyone wants to invite me, I’d be happy to come along, hahaha! Everything I had was atleast tasty. I LOVED the Big Tuna — omg more of that please!
