I felt my exam with the doctor was sort of rushed, then I felt pressured to buy new glasses when I wanted to reuse my own frames, if even for a «backup» pair after mentioning I already had a backup pair. Then the «disclaimer» that they might break my favorite old frames when fitting them for new lenses — I sorta felt like that was again, pressure, to keep them and buy new from them of course. If they break my frames I’m going to be pissed. Their vendor should be able to know if something is going to break before they actually break — given their job is to make glasses.

This clinic continues to impress! The doctors bedside manners are amazing and they have successfully treated my dry eyes. Although I’m a full time contact lens wearer, I love the selection of frames for men and try to pick up a new pair of backup glasses every other year… very trendy and cool stuff. The optical staff is great at helping select styles that look great and are always available for adjustments when needed. I see why they consistently win awards every year.

I have been a patient here for 4 years. Every time I leave the office I tell my husband I am never coming back. Then I am due to go in and I am too lazy to find something else.
I will start by saying that the doctors here have all been very nice/​professional during the visits. The same with many of the staff. The office is also very clean. there are a few kids toys, drinks, and snacks.
The problem I have is how I feel they try to nickel and dime me at every visit. When I first went in I was pregnant. The front desk person made a pitch for getting this eye measuring device (an extra cost to do it). The appeal she said was that I would not have to be dilated. I then told her I was pregnant and she said I could not get dilated and therefore should go with the device. I did, thinking I had no other option, and then was informed by the doctor during my visit (after I asked) if I could have been dilated and she said I totally could have been.
During another visit, they were 45 minutes behind schedule. Instead of telling my husband and Me when we checked in, clearly carting 2 young kids with us, they let us check in and wait for an hour in the room.
At my last scheduled visit, I asked to order more contacts. My vision hadn’t changed and I liked the kind I had. I primarily wear glasses but use contacts for special occasions or swimming. The front desk person told me I’d be charged for a contact fitting and would have to come in multiple times. I told her I just wanted to order the same ones. She said I could not order them unless I had the contact fitting despite being fitted only a year before. When I went into the doctor, the doc told me it would be fine to just order the same ones without the fitting and extra visits. When i went to pick up the contacts, they only had half of what I ordered (why they had me come in for half, who knows?). When the second portion of the contacts came in, they called to let me know. I did not pick them up right away. After they called me one other time, they left me a message telling me they would just send my contacts back to the manufacturer if I did not pick them upright away. It’s worth noting I had already paid for them.
My last experience I will ever have was recently. My frames are loose on one of the sides. It causes my glasses that I wear all the time to fall off. When I went in to have them tightened, they proceeded to tell me that I would have to get new gLasses because they didn’t have the right tool to fix the glasses and they no longer manufacture them. These frames are only 1 ½ years old. When i inquired about waiting to get new ones at my next visit, since I get frames every other year, she told me the front office used my insurance for my contacts despite me telling the office I would pay completely out of pocket for my contacts since I primarily wear Frames and care more about using my insurance towards those. After pushing back a little, the employee said they would go ahead and pay for my old frames as there are a only a few left from the manufacturer but that I’d have to order now and pay $ 65 for shipping and handling and wait 5 weeks. THEN I waited and waited to get a call to say the frames were in. After many weeks I finally called and low and behold they have had them in for 3 weeks and supposedly called my home phone and left a message.
I am done with this place. Like I said, the doctors have been good. However, for me, the office staff are pushing for sales and playing games to get you to pay more. I don’t like that mentality in a doctors office. And that’s what I find here.

First and foremost, the exam itself is top-​notch and very thorough and professional. The exam itself would garner a 5 star review hands down. However, because this review is for the whole process of the exam and selecting and purchasing glasses, I give it 3 stars due to overpriced eyewear. even after insurance, you can expect to pay 3 – 500 dollars. Granted, most stores also overprice their merchandise but it is definitely a racquet since u can easily purchase comparable frames online at a significant fraction of the price

I called last week to make an appointment and gave all of my insurance information over the phone. I was very clear about what why I was coming in, which was to possibly switch to contacts but I could tell that my vision had changed since my last eye exam. I show up to my appointment yesterday and everything seemed fine, filled out my paperwork and noted that I wanted to see about getting CONTACTS. I went through my whole exam (that my insurance was supposed to cover) to be told at the end at checkout time that I owed money for a Contact Exam because it was different than what my insurance covered. The lady checking me out apologized and said that they dropped the ball and said that the person who checked me in should have told me. But she didn’t and said not a word while the woman checked me out. she waited until the end to glance over smile and turn away. I also have to note that my eyes were dilated during my exam, in a dark room. No one told me that i would have light sensitivity and blurry vision once i got outside. I asked another person about it and was told that Shades should have been provided to me or they should have told me to bring some with me to my appointment. Another ball dropped. Because of them not «caring» for their customers the way they should have I was out money that i was not expecting to spend and I struggled to drive home in rush hour traffic where I had to judge distances based on blurry blobs in front of me that were cars. I am appalled at how bad things where in such a clean nice office with great reviews. Only to be mislead and sent out the door with no care to how I would adjust or drive with dilated eyes. KRIS was the only person there who seemed to actually care.

This office deserves 5 stars for sure! The staff was very welcoming, the office was very clean and the doctors were great. They have a lot of selection when it comes to glasses. Would defiantly recommend this office!

Brought my difficult elderly mom here and they took time to really go threw everything.

Dr. Moy is the best!!! She listened to my concerns regarding my eyes, and remained straightfoward. She was balanced in giving preventive care advice while being realistic about potential future eye problems. I do NOT trust people with my eyes, but her I will trust again!

It feels like home everytime we come here. Staff are accomodating and friendly. They attend to your needs with more than you expected. Special shoutout to Brian who was very patient with us when we are trying out some eyeglasses. I ended up getting 2 pairs of ICBerlin and a Kate Spade sunglasses. Its worth it!

The facilities are very clean and the staff is very friendly and professional. They have all the equipment for a full eye exam and don’t push you to add anything on that you don’t want to. I felt like I was in very competent hands.

LOVE the selection of frames here, and Dr. Gelt is great. Unfortunately I have to be honest… I HATE when people try to upsell me, and they aren’t really averse to that here. I went in hoping to spend less than $ 100 for a pair of glasses (after insurance), ended up paying about $ 300, and the salesperson helping me pick out my glasses tried to sneak in a VERY expensive lens upgrade in addition. Then they also wanted me to get a year’s supply of new contact lenses? No way, man. It made me uncomfortable and kind of ruined the experience for me. I’ve never had an optometrist’s office try to sell me anything whatsoever. Cut it out, y’all…makes me question your motives!

Stellar service and friendly staff! I have been coming here for 7 years (since it opened) and my family and I have been a patient of Dr. Gelt for over 14 years. I highly recommended her to all my friends and family. Great eye wear selections as well! The specialists are great at helping you find the perfect frames and lenses.

I went to Clearvue Vision Center looking for help with dry eyes. I have not been to an Optometrist for a long time and Dr. Heitmeyer was friendly and made me feel very welcome. He went above and beyond to help me during appointments and on his own time. I had difficulty getting my prescription and he did all he could to assist. Dr. Heitmeyer responded promptly to my emails, changed my prescription quantity to better meet my needs, and informed me of a program that assisted me financially. I would highly recommend Dr. Heitmeyer to anyone looking for a new Optometrist.

Clearvue is an exceptional optometry shop. Kent was a stretch for me to drive but knowing that optometry is a commodified business that survives on reputation and referral, I took the good word of a friend to get my next check-​up there.
Dr. Bryan Heitmeyer is an affable professional with a great doctor-​patient sensibility. He gave me his full attention, wasn’t hurried or bored, and adjusted his procedures when my eyes needed some extra dilation. Dr. H. is precise and friendly, and he got me in and out quickly and easily.
Excellent doctoring withstanding however, the party piece at Clearvue and the real reason to make the drive to Kent is to see optician & buyer Steve Cole. He can tap his nail on a glasses frame or lens and tell you what it’s made of and its associated quality — he’s that good. Steve’s sartorial sense, defined by wearing a tie every time I saw him, is only exceeded by his decisive manner with people who are shopping for frames. Given just a few of my preferences and the shape of my face, Steve went about pulling a wide variety of frames on the shelves from different makers. For every frame I tried on Steve would look at me for no more than two seconds and give me his assessment, either «Yes», or «No». This made for a speedy, collaborative shopping experience, which is exactly what I wanted. Steve’s knowledgable about what’s in store, what he can order in, and adept at advising what shapes, colors, and materials fit someone’s style. It helps that he has a variety of glasses himself, all of which look outstanding — I can trust him.
So when you want your eyes checked, I strongly recommend you go see Dr. H. and ask for Steve if you’re looking for new frames. It’s a good way to spend an afternoon.

Great service and expertise from both the staff and doctors!

Being the daughter of an optometrist from the Chicago suburbs and having had to wear glasses since I was 11 years old, I bugged my mom for years to tell me just when someone was going to ‘invent’ the eye surgery I needed so that I wouldn’t need glasses anymore. Fast forward to 2000 and living in Renton, WA, she said okay now you have have that surgery! It was awesome that Dr. Lomas was just a few miles from my home and he and Dr. Alexandra Gelt performed my Lasik procedure. They weren’t satisfied with the initial results in six months had me come back in and tweaked it. I have not had any issues since and it’s been over 14 years! Technically I have been a patient of Dr. Gelt’s for that long and was extremely happy that she partnered up with Dr. Heitmeyer to open Clearvue Vision Center. The staff is always cordial and extremely knowledgeable from the front desk receptionists to the technicians to the the opticians. And Dr. Gelt and Dr. Heitmeyer and very patient and take the time to explain everything the are doing from the testing to what your particular needs are. I have always felt that my questions are answered and that they are truly taking care of my eye health. A few years back I was told that I was susceptible to macular degeneration because I have light eyes and an aversion to light brightness. I was not pushed into taking any precautionary methods, just advised but then I was shown proof the following year with the cool topographical eye maps that I needed to add some particular vitamins to counteract these effects. Went in today for my annual exam. No changes in eye sight which is still excellent and taking ‘Restore’ for about a year has improved my eye health significantly and the added benefit is that they are not so dry anymore! Please Please — take care of your eyes — Clearvue Vision Center will fulfill all your needs both young and old patients and work with your insurance companies. Bonus is the coffee, tea, water, cookies and loads of magazines in the waiting room. Oh yes, did I mention that I can always get an appointment on short notice if I can’t make my regular exam date. They truly are the best eye doctors & staff in Seattle not just Kent!

I went to this place because I heard it was one of the best, and the staff are all really nice and it was pretty pleasant experience.

I highly recommend Clearvue vision center and Dr Heitmeyer. Been coming here for years and will continue to come here. There is just something so great about this place.

A long, long, time ago when I was a baby dinosaur watching a Sonics game on television with my grandfather, it was determined that I couldn’t make out the number on Jack Sikma’s jersey without placing my eyes two feet from the screen — there you have it, I’ve been going to the eye doctor since about 1977!!!
I have seen many eye docs over the past years — for lazy eye, refraction, for LASIK, for dry eye, for conjunctivitis, for old lady glasses when the LASIK started to slip (10 years out — I still recommend LASIK!), you name it, I’ve been to the eye doc for it.
Notable is Dr. Heitmeyer’s attention to detail, patient-​side manner, and sincerity. He shares his observations and assessments with you — doesn’t just write them down, he involves you in your treatment choices, he takes the time to walk you through the options and ensures you understand what is required and what to expect as an outcome. He recently treated me for severe dry eye and walked me through what to expect with my rx treatment and how to get the best results.
Dr. Heitmeyer and his staff are so great! They are friendly, helpful, and make sure your peepers are seeing clearly! Nice office and easy location. I would definitely recommend this eye doctor!
