What a pleasure it has been.
I bought a 1997 540i a few years ago and it has been hands down one of my favorite vehicles ever. Never had any real issues with it, other than high maintenance costs, but that’s very well expected with a vehicle of that caliber. I was also a frequent user of their service department. My other vehicle was an E36 BMW with one too many miles, however, much like the 540i, it was also very close to me. Sadly though, that car left Germany as an automatic. In 2011 I decided to change that. Kensington Autoworks completed a 5-​speed manual transmission swap on the vehicle and it was absolutely perfect. At the time, I was not as mechanically inclined, but speaking today as a BMW Technician, I really appreciate the quality of work. When doing this swap, most people overlook what is called a «neutral safety switch» which prevents the vehicle from being started when in gear. Kensington Autoworks completed everything just as if it left the factory that way. Owen and his whole team are hard-​working, honest people who really know their stuff, and I couldn’t recommend them enough.

My wife and are new to the area, we have been looking for a trustworthy auto repair shop close by. Disclaimer: we have not had any auto repair work done by Kensington Autoworks. But, we have had some vehicle inspections done by Kensington Autoworks, they are always professional and friendly. If we needed auto repairs I would give them a shot for sure.

This is a family-​owned auto business that treats its customers like family. They really care about your car, you, your safety, and your budget. They offer fantastic service at reasonable prices, and are willing to work with you on timing your repairs according to safety and budget when your car needs a few more things than you thought it did.
The folks at Kensington Autoworks take great pride in taking care of your car. They get to know it over time, which allows them to make recommendations that suit your actual use of the vehicle as well as meet regulatory standards.
This is quality care, from quality folks. I moved to New York for work and had the unpleasant experience of dealing with your typical Scumbag Steve style auto shop for an inspection (you can read my thoughts on that here:
). The next time I was up in NH, I took my car to Owen and the Kensington Autoworks family and they fixed everything the NY auto shop had broken, as well as getting it ready for winter driving.
I won’t take my car anywhere else. They are worth a trip up north for their integrity and skill. I think I called them the bombdiggity in the other review, and they are.

I’ve been having all of my vehicles serviced at Kensington Autoworks for two years. Although they specialize in BMW, they service all makes. They have worked on my Acura, Mercedes, Chevy suburban, Mini cooper, Mustang GT, and Honda CR-​V. They have done large jobs as well as simple oil changes, and I have always been very pleased with their service. They are very honest, professional and do quality work.
